This paper investigates the potential of information and Communication Technology (ICT) in aiding Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, affected by climate change-induced disasters. Focusing on creating tailored solutions, the study highlights challenges faced by refugees and the limited use of ICTs in providing effective support. Collaborating with Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) and their Voice of Palong (VoP) project, the research emphasizes the need for localized early warning systems and communication strategies. VoP's initiatives, including radio programs and audio-visual content, empower refugees and host communities, enhancing resilience and cohesion. The review examines the concept of climate refugees, ICT's role in resilience, and vulnerabilities of Rohingya refugees. It stresses the importance of ICTs in monitoring climate change and underscores challenges faced by refugees in vulnerable areas. Discussing emerging themes like communication challenges, mistrust due to misinformation, and ICTs for localized content, the paper concludes by advocating collaborative efforts to utilize ICTs for climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. It suggests scaling similar initiatives globally to revolutionize disaster response approaches in various humanitarian settings.

This publication aims to delve into the concept of human-centric manufacturing systems (or human-centered) and the essential skills needed for their successful implementation and promotion. Through a combination of expert focus group and stakeholders' workshop, this research strives to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key elements that define a human-centric manufacturing (HCM) system and the crucial role played by human factors. By analyzing the outcomes of these workshops, the authors intend to uncover valuable insights regarding the skills and knowledge required for designing, developing, and implementing HCM systems. Main concepts and skills have been discovered across three main pillars: Empowerment, Inclusivity and Safety. This exploration will also encompass a deep comprehension of the role of the various functional units within an organization, emphasizing the significance of collaboration and communication amongst all stakeholders involved within a HCM context. The findings from this study make valuable contributions to the formulation of strategies aimed at facilitating the transition from an Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 manufacturing system and the emerging Society 5.0.

Fast-paced technological advancements and ever-growing demand for customized products trigger the need for a transition from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing. This review paper focuses on identifying the benefits of Digital Twin applications for the theme of product development processes. Benefits are analyzed according to the 10 knowledge areas defined by the Project Management Institute's project management body of knowledge (PMBOK). Classification by knowledge area helps to understand where benefits can best be found according to desirable product characteristics and corporate goals. This paper analyzes which PMBOK knowledge area has proven, practical applications and sound theoretical underpinning, thus indicating the likelihood of a successful implementation of Digital Twin.

Maritime vessels are complex systems that generate and require the utilization of large amounts of data for maximum efficiency. However, integrating different knowledge and data into the decision-making process during the design process remains a challenge. To address this problem, a development framework to support changeability for next generation vessels is proposed using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated SysML diagrams. This framework incorporates literature and industry interviews and can be integrated into the Systems Engineering development approach to improve decision-making through the inclusion of feedback loops. The contribution of this paper is the establishment of a development framework for incorporating change into the design, development, and deployment of next-generation vessels.

To date, the vast majority of scholarships awarded through the CyberCorps (R) : Scholarship for Service program are supporting scholars to pursue studies at the bachelor's or master's levels. This paper presents the results of a study which was conducted to explore the obstacles, challenges, and opportunities to support scholarships on the PhD level as part of the CyberCorps (R) : Scholarship for Service program. The benefits of this study go beyond the CyberCorps (R) : Scholarship for Service program itself in that it may provide guidance to other similarly structured programs.

The complexity of airplane parts is constantly increasing. For example, the airplane fuselage comprises more than 700.000 parts with different dimensions, geometries, tolerances complexity, and multiple materials. This complexity scenario requires an advanced manufacturing park with conventional and non-conventional machining, rapid manufacturing machining, 3D measuring machines, and others. In parallel, reducing these parts' cost and production time challenges the aerospace industry suppliers, ensuring high manufacturing quality. Therefore, this paper explores a preliminary discussion of the Semantic Web Technologies and 3D feature recognition application to assist the complex partsmanufacturing pricing and manufacturing planning since this process is made manually by a manufacturing engineer. During all quotation processes (3D part analysis, manufacturing planning, and manufacturing price definition), the engineer spends more than one week to quote a part depending on its complexity. This paper contributes to a Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) domain since it discusses the application of Semantic web technologies and 3D feature recognition technologies to automate extracting the information from the part modelled in 3D and plan the manufacturing process to help to identify the price tomanufacture it. Finally, the main research result concerns the identification of the contributions and limitations of the related works in this domain and the research opportunity to cover this research gap.

The case study presented in this paper can be argued to embody the representation of two dominant discourses that frame the persistent problem of lack of African research visibility in global knowledge systems. The first proceeds from a deficit perspective, suggesting endemic dysfunctions within in-country research systems, while the second recognizes potential systemic injustices, which are deemed to create unequal opportunities for knowledge production and dissemination for African scholars. Four selected interventions from the case study are analyzed using a social justice framework, developed in the paper, that synthesizes these two critical perspectives. It was found that all but one of the interventions emanate from a country deficit discourse and that the actions taken tend mainly to ameliorate, not challenge this perspective. The paper concludes by demonstrating through the social justice lens why the African research visibility issue continues to persist and hints that counter narratives initiated by the case study could offer an alternative outcome.

Digital technologies enables industries to transform their processes to gain competitive advantage. Industry 5.0 puts the operator at the center of a digital and connected industry, but what about workers' emotions? To what extent do Industry 4.0 technologies in the industrial domain allows for a better understanding of the impact of emotions on workers' decision-making behavior? The overall objective of this systematic literature review is to explore the literature to assess the breadth of possibilities for analyzing emotions to understand workers' decision-making behaviors, based on data collected in industrial settings. The analysis of 29 articles extracted from the Compendex and Web of Science search engines allowed us to define the emotional factors measured in the analysis of human decision-making behavior, the tools used, and the sectors of application. The subject is still in its infancy for the scientific community and is a source of excitement. The results of the qualitative analysis of the articles show the predominance of text analysis (social networks and/or online reviews) for sentiment analysis. The tools used within the technology are very diverse (deep learning, machine learning, mathematical models). The same is true for the sectors of activity, although there is a particular interest in customer emotions for marketing purposes in the service industries. Finally, future research avenues are proposed, such as the analysis of the impact of emotions on the decision-making process in manufacturing is practically absent from the study.

Knowledge management and intellectual capital are essential factors in a company's success. An intrinsic element of knowledge management is knowledge exchange. Obtaining knowledge outside of a firm's boundaries, also known as open innovation, is necessary. Although these topics are well described in the literature, they seem less developed in a manufacturing context. The current economic context is favourable to the firm's merger and acquisition. This paper aims to understand how knowledge exchange can be supported in a multi-division manufacturing SME. During three months, thanks to a prototype platform, part of the knowledge exchanges and collaboration were tracked and evaluated in a Quebec aerospace multi-division manufacturing firm. Through this period, knowledge exchanges' quantity, success and collaboration symmetry were monitored. Semi-structured interviews were conducted at the end of the experimentation with the members to gather the foundations and limitations of the prototype platform. This one proposes a supportive organizational structure and incentives which enhance knowledge exchanges among involved SMEs. This prototype platform approach should provide the foundations of more structured knowledge exchanges.
