In wishing to make our physical environment inclusive, this paper investigates the complexity and challenge of design process, focussing on the Danish distinction between architect and bygningskonstruktor (constructing architect) in both qualifications and practice. The paper looks at the division of the roles in relation to the knowledge acquired during their education;and discusses the kind of knowledge on inclusion they gain, mobilise and share during the actual design process. The findings from nine qualitative interviews highlight two key areas. Firstly, there is a need to develop shared knowledge on inclusion between architects and bygningskonstruktorer;secondly, team structure and communication strategy needs to be critically reviewed and appropriated to optimise knowledge allocation and dissemination within a team and practice at large.

The consistent phenomenon of immigration from countries with different cultures, that characterized the last decade, has changed the use of public spaces in European cities. The need to develop innovative solutions aimed at improving intercultural inclusion and mutual understanding of all citizens emerges, so that urban spaces become inclusive, safe and sustainable. This research project is focused on two main questions: (1) can design and technology enable the creation of a different way of living the public space to catalyze interpersonal interaction and to promote a shared sense of citizenship? (2) is it possible to support intercultural communication and to facilitate social inclusion through the design of innovative and interactive public spaces equipped with smart urban furniture? This paper presents three Design Orienting Scenarios as results of the research conducted by several experts, professionals and people with different cultural backgrounds during a focus groups and two different workshops where they made converge competences from design, business, engineering and social sciences to find innovative solutions for the social inclusion of migrants in urban areas.

Museums are important places for people's access to historical and cultural information. Therefore, people's experience and perception of information content shall be the main orientation of museum design. By using multiple media to build the exhibition space and interface, designers aim to form varied spatial effects and thereby combine educational functions with entertaining activities. The research content is divided into three parts: 1. An overview of the collisions between human and spatial scenarios in museums;2. Observation of the expression of human-computer interaction technology in museum information transmission;3. A brief description of the relation between media convergence and the spatial visual effects experienced by people in museums. In this paper, based on the aforesaid three aspects, the author unfolded a comprehensive discussion and explored the application of these theories in the design of information transmission in the narrative space of museums.

This paper aimed to assess the risks related to upper limbs repetitive movements in work tasks in a poultry slaughterhouse. The study was carried out in a poultry abattoir in which 180,000 chickens were slaughtered daily, with 2,000 workers distributed in three shifts. To evaluate the risks related to upper limbs repetitive movements, 10% of the workers were evaluated using the OCRA checklist. The workers performed 79.8 +/- 21.7 technical actions per minute (10 points on the OCRA checklist). The overall mean OCRA checklist score was 18.9 +/- 4.2 (medium risk). The right upper limb score (18.5 +/- 4.5 - medium risk) was not significantly different (p = 0.128) from the left upper limb (17.8 +/- 4.5 - medium risk). Among the 35 tasks analyzed, two were classified as high risk (6%) and 33 presented medium risk (94%).

The quality of education in the Nigerian university sector is gradually deteriorating, which becomes highly imperative to identify factors responsible for the this decline which has sometimes been associated with the lingering effect of poor working conditions of academia and students in Nigerian Universities. This study examines the effect of the external environment, on staff and student productivity in Nigerian Universities. A total of three hundred and forty-seven respondents were received from the three hundred and ninety-eight questionnaires that were systematically distributed. Questionnaires were used to collect primary data from the universities which was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Hypotheses were tested using percentages and chisquare statistical method. This study reveals evidence of a significant relationship between productivity and the external environment at 0.000 < 0.05. The study findings show that lack of funding, inadequate training on use of school facilities, poor motivation, amongst others have either hampered or are capable of hindering productivity in Nigerian Universities. It is therefore imperative for key stakeholders managing the higher institutions to exert conscious efforts towards improving the quality of education by creating enabling and conducive work environments which will translate into greater productivity.

Rural regions are a typology of region rooted around the world. Its identity and matrix are differentiated from the most urbanized regions. Associated with rural areas is a strong negative feeling of depopulation, undeveloped business fabric, less wealth and less ability to attract investment and where public and private services from various sectors of activity are not concentrated. This reality cannot be socially accepted and must be fought for greater equity within countries. To leverage this change, rural regions will have to become co-competitive and attractive regions. In order for this transformation to take place, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play a major role. This article characterizes the rural regions in their demographic and economic dimensions, emphasizing the case of the Northeast region of Portugal. Analyse and review a set of fundamental vectors where ICT can be a key driver and enabler for smart rural regions to be created. Finally, it is presented a conceptual model of what can be a smart rural region.

The study assesses the detectability design of coins produced by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Two sets of coins are currently in circulation: the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the New Generation Currency Coin Series. Three types of timed detection tests were performed under controlled conditions to measure effectiveness (accuracy) and efficiency (duration) in detecting coins. These tests differ in sense/s used to detect the coins: visual only, tactile only, and both visual & tactile. Results show that BSP coins are generally easier and faster to identify than NGC coins. Furthermore, subjects find it easier to detect the obverse side of coins compared to the reverse. When using the visual sense only, subjects respond faster as compared to only using the tactile sense, and show no significant difference when using both visual and tactile senses. Thus, the tactile design features of the coins may be ineffective for detectability.

Producers and employers are still looking for ways to better understand the recipients of their services. This ability allows you to build a competitive advantage and gain or retain the interest of customers and employees. The dynamics of demographic changes and requirements related to technological development (including contextual requirements such as sustainable development) mean that the existing users' groups and their needs are also changing. This results in the need to search for ways to better address technical features to the needs of individual. The article presents the concept of developing the Designing for Dynamic Diversity approach in designing for Wellbeing using similar for Kansei Engineering approach. The article presents the concept of dynamic adjustment of the user's environment through the use of feedback and dynamic changes in work environment. In this way, a method of continuous improvement is supported, supported by the actual needs of the user. The problem in this area is to determine the level of dynamics of the technical system as well as the manner of its responsiveness to the user's feelings. Due to the dynamics of demographic processes mentioned above, it was proposed to use the approach that engages the user in the process of creating a solution - through an innovative "senior customer" called "Innosumers" (Peine, Rollwagen, Neven 2014). The combination of these concepts allows us to present a holistic approach to design oriented to human well-being, and at the same time dynamically responsive.

This article aims to study the interaction and scenario-based experience design of new media technology in the museum, improve people's sensibility to museum-theme space information, and facilitate propaganda and education. It mainly: (1) summarizes the expression of new media human-computer interaction techniques in the museum;(2) discusses the relationship between museum-them space shaping based on new media technology and humans' visiting experience;(3) summarizes the experience in human and museum space storyline with new media intervention. The aim of this paper is to map the state of art of Brazilian researches focused on the accessibility of interfaces, identifying the methods and techniques used on the evaluation of digital interfaces based on the approach of the visually impaired user. An exploratory search was made, filtering studies between 2013 and 2018, at the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of CAPES and at the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. The found documents were filtered and analyzed, aiming to list the procedures used on the evaluation process. Subsequently, the results were synthesized and compared with the literature. The study is justified by the lack of evaluative research with an inclusive approach. As a result, this paper indicates that usability tests, task analysis, verbal protocols and satisfaction questionnaires are relevant procedures for the interface evaluation from a user's centered approach.
