Infographics are an effective way to transmit messages, both as an information design artifact and as a journalistic piece. Its fundamental components are information, composition, typography and color. In this study, the main focus is the usage of color in infographics in online Portuguese media, particularly in generalist newspapers. We intend to discover if the color usage is different in interactive and static infographics or if color is applied to infographics unrelated to its interactive nature. The main method of research was a comparative case studies, based on the aggregation, organization and analysis of color samples of graphics, backgrounds and typography of static and interactive infographics in six newspapers. In this process, conversion of RGB samples to Natural Color System (NCS) was pivotal for the their effectual mapping in the color spectrum, according to luminance, saturation and tone. The study led to conclude that online infographics tend to have light and saturated colors in graphics, light colors or white in backgrounds, and saturated colors and black in typography. There were no significant differences between static and interactive infographics, neither in terms of number of colors applied or in aspects of luminance, saturation and tone. In both cases, there was a prominence of the tones of yellow, red and blue in the graphics and neutrals in backgrounds. In what concerns typography, the samples of colors where distributed in the spectrum, with no clear prominence of any tone.

In recent years, trolleybus transport is undergoing technological transformation from catenary-based electric public transport to flexible electromobility platform based on 'hybrid-trolleybuses' with batteries. The article presents an analysis of state-of-the-art of trolleybus transport in Poland, including three urban areas. The research was conducted within TROLLEY 2.0 project. An analysis of quantitative data has been carried out in connection with the usage and economics of selected trolleybus operators. Additionally, an in-depth analysis of strategic documents adopted by the local authorities of those cities of Poland which have an operating trolleybus network was conducted. It leads to a conclusion that the quantitative and qualitative development of trolleybus transportation in Poland took place especially after EU accession.

The television universe is a multibillion-dollar industry. Just like all other major products, tv series need branding. Here identity is used to guide the public into the continuity of the different episodes, and to differentiate them from other series in a highly competitive market. For a successful branding, a clear strategy is needed for these audiovisual products. Our study presents an understanding of the different types of opening credits, establishing a possible classification for them, and how they are used strategically to uphold brand identity ideals. To achieve this, it's important to understand the audiovisual medium and its interactions with Graphic Design, typography and Motion Graphics, areas that play a part in the elaboration of these main title sequences. Based on the analysis of key structural elements and different typologies or structural models of main title sequences, we made the proposal for their classification, from the perspective of structural organization.

A Business Analytics (BA) component aims, in an early phase, to transform data into information to later generate knowledge. Nowadays, organizations increasingly tend to deal with large amounts of data. With the absence of a BA component responsible for the data integration and consolidation process, organizations end up missing the data's potential in becoming information and, therefore, useful knowledge. BA components also incorporate data visualization tools, namely dashboards, which provide a quick and intuitive data analysis that helps the process of transforming data into information. Easy access to useful information means having full support for the organization's decision-making process. This basically leads the organization to face improvements in their business performance and, consequently, to gain a competitive advantage over the organizations that perform in the same business sector. Therefore, it is easy to understand that the benefits of this technology extend to all business sectors, including healthcare business. The article goals are understanding what is BA and in which ways a BA component can be explored in the healthcare business to increase efficiency on the health care provision on a Social Healthcare Institution. Finally, this article will also present a developed BA component focused on monitoring the business process of a Social Healthcare Institution to support the goals mentioned above.

Digital fabrication consists of a range of techniques used to create products from digital designs. For the development of the digital citizen, digital literacy is a fundamental skill that digital fabrication could assist in developing. However, the main question is how to support education systems in order to promote fundamental skills, since the history of educational technology shows that changing technology requires changes in teacher's skills, curricular foundations and technical infrastructures in general. In this paper, we look at pedagogical approaches that facilitate the intake of technologies to be used in educational contexts through digital fabrication. First, we present our design thinking based approach encompassing five stages: ideation, planning, creation, programming and sharing, to imbue digital fabrication with meaningful creations in education. The paper continues to present students' work and provides a summary feedback from teachers. We conclude by arguing that teaching approaches and learning stages are good to structure learning through digital fabrication ex-ante, and that there is a need to also support the experiential dimension on the teachers' side by acquiring a 'coach's mindset', following students' ideas.

The process of building a transport model requires carrying out extensive traffic measurements and travel behaviours analyses. Part of traffic measurements is used: in the process of building a transport model, to determine structure of demand for transport and to verify the quality of the developed model. It is important to adopt an appropriate research methodology and scope of research, tailored to the needs of developing a transport model using the four-step trip-based travel demand modelling process. This article is devoted to the review of methodologies, according to which Comprehensive Traffic Survey was implemented in recent years in Poland. Case study of the construction of a transport model for the city of Bielsko-Biala was shown. The ways of representing the results of researches and measurements of road traffic have been presented.

The paper reports the activities of a specific design research integrated into multidisciplinary automotive project funded by Emilia Romagna region, Italy. The main goal of the overall project is to design the concept of a high-performance vehicle. In particular, this contribution presents a qualitative user analysis that has been carried out specifically to design the vehicle interface. This work lays on a methodology that points out the importance of inclusive and human-centered design approaches that are used throughout the automotive product development. The Quality Function Deployment (QFD), namely an inclusive decision-making tool, has been utilized into the product planning process in order to obtain measurable design parameters for improving the quality of the expected project through a correlation with the user needs. The outputs derived by QFD tool are used as a strategy to develop a possible design solution for the vehicle interface.

Thanks to the knowledge related to Ergonomics in Design and Inclusive Design, the present work aims at finding and providing an opened and integrated approach to the disciplines of cognitive psychology, pedagogy and human-computer interaction by presenting field experiments on learning and case studies. The latter show novel co-design practices through the use of Human-Centered Design and Inclusive Design methods, which were pointed out by means of experiments conducted in collaboration with professionals, end users and people with Specific Learning Disabilities. Through the presentation of a pilot project dedicated to the SLDs, the final output of the work was to illustrate a developed inclusive learning platform and its operating rules. Moreover, the research highlighted the need for systems based on social networking, supporting not only accessibility but also autonomy, socialization and the ability to collectively build new meanings.

The case studies explore experimental practices and approaches to design based on costumes that lead to the characters' construction and of the plot itself and thus contribute to the immersion of performers and spectators into corresponding fictions. Semiotics and somatics gather in a visual vocabulary based on textiles, colors and garment shapes that tell stories, taking spectators to plausible universes or situations contextualized scenically. Participatory design is considered, with costumes as working tools for performers and directors. User-centered design processes that include the moving body as the mill of a costume's definition promote a staging under construction that turns the plot into a metaphor of the costumes' facets. This brings new symbolic and theoretical frameworks for both performing and designing. Thus, ergonomics is central in the creative process, implying original designs for these staging practices with no preliminary grounds and that rely on costumes as triggers for acting.

Global transformations of the modern world, which have a multidimensional nature, and which almost all aspects of social existence are subject to, seem to be inescapable and their complexity difficult to grasp. Globalization tendencies in the world deprived the modern society of stability which was characteristic for the modern epoch of industrial society. However, dialectical nature of globalization determines development of societies' ability to anticipate dangers and coping with them at individual, social and global levels. New chances and new possibilities emerge in micro- and macro-scale, but there are also fears and concerns, which define the contours of the society of tomorrow. Quality specification of new transformations in relations between globality and locality, society and unit, and their interconnections, is by no means irrelevant to multicontextual changes in the world of work. These changes make new demands on employees. The vision implies a completely new perception of reality, ways of interpreting the worlds, and new quality of judgments on the condition of modern world - including a man as the "manager" of his own career. The most important, subjective and internal meaning of career must be correlated with its external traits. Therefore, personal meaning, despite being influenced by social categories to which the individual belongs, cannot be derived only from these categories. It is also important to consider orientation categories which are understood as individual tendencies characterized by lasting expressiveness. Coexistence of cognitive, normative, emotional and behavioral components is accompanied by an objective which relates to achievement of what, according to the individual, is worthy of desire in career. Career commitment is characterized by development of personal career objectives, devotion to these objectives, identification with them and commitment to them.
