In the field of elderly - exergame research, there is limited information available in the Indian context. There is a need to explore how the Indian elderly respond towards such interventions to do the exercise, and if it is not positive what kind changes need to make it more context specific. A study is conducted among Indian elderly (three sets of pilot studies with twenty Indian elderly (age 60 years and above)) with an existing game (DDR) and a tailored exergame as a fall preventive measure. The aim of the study is to give a few design recommendations to design exergame for Indian elderly. The new stepping exergame design process includes the Technology Acceptance Decision Tree (TADT), Indian Anthropometric data. The design recommendations include the prescribed sets of exercise need to convert into a game goal, repeated movements to complete one goal to avoid confusions, self-paced game speed, game theme, and avatar in the Indian context, etc. The findings of the study will be helpful for the researchers in the field of exergame for the elderly while designing for Indian or similar context.

Previous studies have shown a relationship between virtual environments and subjectively evaluated emotions. The present study intends to understand if an emotion evaluated subjectively is related to an objective measurement like heart rate. In the study, a design between subjects with two virtual environments was used. A sample of 58 participants participated in this study, in two immersive virtual environments: Helix((R)) (a roller coaster experience, n = 36);and Yana((R)) (experience of sunset/sunrise, n = 22). Subjective and objective measures (heart rate) were measured. The results are consistent with previous studies and our hypotheses. As for the subjective measures it is concluded that these measures were related to physiological measures, so the emotional response to an event in virtual reality is not only an interpretation of the situation but also a physiological phenomenon.

It is unrealistic to expect rail passengers to experience a comfortable journey while travelling in crowded trains. Given that passenger behaviour is one of the contributing factors of crowding, understanding and promoting changes in their behaviour would help moderate overcrowding. Therefore, this study aims to develop strategies to encourage passenger behaviour change. Focusing particularly on the provision of train occupancy information, Cognitive Work Analysis (CWA) is applied to gain a systematic understanding about constraints of the behaviour in the rail system environment. Participant observations, staff interview, and online survey data were used to develop an Abstraction Hierarchy (AH), which was validated with two rail subject-matter experts. The output enhance our understanding about passenger behaviour while travelling in crowded conditions, and provide insights about how rail service providers could better assist passengers' decision making to inform real behaviour change. The AH provides the foundation for how to reduce crowding by supporting passengers' decision making so they can select less crowded trains or carriages.

In this paper first we share concept of workshop-based digital storytelling which we adopted for an International project called SELI (Smart Ecosystem for Learning and Inclusion) and its educational value in terms of inclusion. Secondly we give information about the context of teacher education in the case of Turkey and Bolivia by explaining the context of different target groups as physical education teachers and people from alternate cultures where the heritage written is not important. Finally, we share the architecture of our digital storytelling solution comparing the SELI proposal. Many solutions implemented and SELI proposal included, try to resolve the DST (Digital Storytelling) like a simple tool with a solution within a learning framework that support it, versus a proposal with a strong scope of conceptualization without a framework, making possible multiples uses not only within learning contexts.

The resilience engineering (RE) approach driven by Hollnagel, Woods and Leveson [1] focuses on the ability of organizations to cope with disturbances. The notion of "control of operations" is essential to the concept of resilience. Hollnagel [2, 3] proposes a regulatory model of the operational control function, broken down into four essential abilities: to anticipate, monitor, respond, and learn. Within the domain of occupational health and safety (OHS) management, the risk assessment method "DIARBENN" was developed through a French approach to contribute to the development of the four resilience abilities of an organization. This method places the analysis of operators' activity at the center of the risk assessment process. The aim of this paper is to present the DIARBENN method as a tool that contributes to the development of organizational resilience in the context of OHS management.

This work used as an ergonomic analysis method the OCRA checklist method, thus enabling an ergonomic risk analysis of the external plaster activity, which is indicated by International Standard ISO 11228-3: 2009 as the preferred process of repetitive action analysis. The data collection took place in construction sites in the cities of Ponta Grossa/PR and Porto Alegre/RS through the application of filming and interview. The analysis of the demand verified the higher incidence of upper limb pain and lesions, besides the question of repetitiveness in the analyzed activity. The study of the chosen activity resulted in a high level of risk requiring immediate intervention, with subsequent suggestion of improvements and confirmation by means of recalculation of the ergonomic risk to implement the advances by one of the participating companies. The progress resulted in a reduction of ergonomic risks by more than 50%, with improvement in the postures and strength requirements.

To evaluate human discomfort in a vehicle seat, we have focused on the involuntary movements of participants. In our previous studies, we carried out the driving simulator experiment to investigate a change in human discomfort during 60 min of traveling. In the experiment, we video-recorded the participant's movements and checked all video off-line to obtain the frequencies of participants' movement. Consequently, we could discuss the relationship between the subjective ratings of participants and the frequencies of the involuntary movements. However, we recognized that the visual judgment was too heavy for us to carry out. Thus, we have developed other methods to detect involuntary movements. In this paper, we proposed the unrestrained method with flex sensors, and we reported the comparison result between the subjective discomfort and the frequency of the involuntary index as an objective index.

The use of robots in educational and STEM engagement activities is widespread. In this paper we describe a system developed for engaging learners with the design of dialogue-based interactivity for mobile robots. With an emphasis on a web-based solution that is grounded in both a real robot system and a real application domain - a museum guide robot - our intent is to enhance the benefits to both driving research through potential user-group engagement, and enhancing motivation by providing a real application context for the learners involved. The proposed system is designed to be highly scalable to both many simultaneous users and to users of different age groups, and specifically enables direct deployment of implemented systems onto both real and simulated robots. Our observations from preliminary events, involving both children and adults, support the view that the system is both usable and successful in supporting engagement with the dialogue interactivity problem presented to the participants, with indications that this engagement can persist over an extended period of time.

The EDEN-ISS is a greenhouse project at the Neumayer Station III in Antarctica. For the first time, this greenhouse supplied the station with fresh food and enabled research regarding sustainable and autonomous food production from Earth to Space. To investigate the plants' impact on the crew (biophilia), a debriefing, questionnaires, and behavioral observation were used. The results show that the crew was satisfied with the consumption of fresh vegetables, which are usually not available in Antarctica. All (9 of 9 crew members) also agreed on the positive psychological and physiological impact of the plants on their well-being. The investigation will be repeated with the next crew of the Neumayer Station III and will also be proposed for comparison at stations like Concordia.

In the scope of Branding projects, the (re) designing of the Visual Identity of Brands or in the scope of audits of Brand Image, we proceed to the research on Brand Marks. This analysis falls on the Brand Marks that will be intervened, but also on Brand Marks of competitors or cases considered as good practices. The research stage on Brand Marks is common in academic or professional projects and students and professionals have difficulty in giving meaning and usefulness to the information collected. The most widely used visual analysis tools allow for the characterization of samples made up of Brand Marks, but these do not help in the extraction of specific conclusions centered on meaning and design. This article describes the development of the competitors map, the Visual Research Tool which allows the objective analysis of Brand Marks, which allows for decision making about the design effectiveness of an isolated Brand Mark or about its (re) design by comparison to a sample of competing Brand Marks. This Visual Research Tool has been developed through literature review, analysis of other tools, the inclusion of a semantic, syntactic and pragmatic analysis, which also includes classifications such as the iconicity scale or the Vienna Classification, as well as principles of visual rhetoric. Using visual and symbolic data, this Visual Research Tool supports professionals and students to create strategic strategies for Brand Visual Identity. This article reports on the creation and evaluation of the Brand Marks' competitor map.
