Backpacks are ever used to transport everyday essentials from one place to another which also come in a variety of design and specification that personify the person;yet most manufactures often overlook the importance of comfortability and posture support instead of aesthetics. Segment of the population suffer from excessively heavy loads of backpacks which lead to plenty of health problems. Contradictory to public beliefs, wearing heavy backpacks will not stunt growth [1], but will breed health problems nonetheless;bad posture, shoulders bending inwards and improper spine alignment. Furthermore, prolong carriage of heavy loaded backpacks brings great stress to a single muscle group resulting to muscle fatigue and causes the user's body to compensate to the weight misaligning the axis of the body [2, 4]. As backpacks have a high demand of use for students the researchers envision of creating a backpack that diminish the payload by properly distributing the weight. This method utilizes the muscle's carrying capacity and improves of the user's posture [3, 7]. In order to develop this design, anthropometry and statistics are used to determine the appropriate dimensions for each part of the product: Shoulder breath (Bideltoid), Shoulder breath - (Biacromial), Lumbar height and average bag weight. Choosing junior high school students as participants, ranging from 13-17 years old, who are typically carrying a heavy loaded bag. Gathering the participant's body segments and integrating it for the dimensions of the design with respect to the 5th and 95th percentile of the stated body measurements. The design serves the purpose of bringing materials with the minimal possibility of having discomfort due to overstressing of muscles [7]. Applying stress absorbers in the straps of the bag which will be designed to minimize the strain received by the user's shoulders. The ergonomic design should bring the user comfortability as well as functionality.

In this paper we report our approach and experiences concerning the introduction of Python programming language in programming-related academic curricula. Firstly we motivate our choice and approach regarding the use of Python programming language. Then we discuss the results obtained in two courses that we taught to computer science and engineering students, both with a strong focus on developing students' practical programming skills: Algorithm Design and Artificial Intelligence. We report our approach and findings, including identified difficulties and obtained results, as well as proposed future improvements.

The Human-System Interaction (HSI) approach focuses on analysis, design, and evaluation of work systems for humans to interact with technical systems ergonomically designed for human use. An initial framework is developed for human factors and ergonomics (HFE) design requirements with regard to occupational safety and health (OSH). The framework refers to concept, criteria and intended user populations in work systems design. Some future work systems in industry 4.0 and cyber-physical systems call for emphasising human information processing with interchange of information variable and dynamic in quantity, quality and time. Taking into account new solutions and challenges in digital manufacturing, selected requirements, explanations, examples and references should inform manufacturers and health and safety experts at the shop floor level about HFE and OSH. Information presented at an internet platform, should assist in how to integrate these factors into construction of machinery or other technical installations, in workplace, equipment and software design and for practical use in HSI.

Construction industry is one of the top dangerous industry in Malaysia because there is a high risk of accident occurrence. Amongst of the accidents happen in the construction site, the workers are likely to exposed to the accidents such as fall from height. Although Malaysian government has taken a lot of effort to reduce the number of accidents by legislations, but the construction-related accidents are still at high number especially working at height. Due to concern of this problem, a working at height management system is developed to help the construction especially small medium enterprise contractors to help them to manage the compliance of legal requirements FMA 1976 and OSHA 1994. The legal requirement taken from these two legislations for working at height activity only. The validity of the working at height management system, real case study was used by using a building construction project and interview was conducted with a safety practitioner to validate the working at height legal requirements. As a result, the working at height legal requirements and the prototype were used by a safety practitioner from construction industry to cross-check for compliance and to validate them as well. The developed working at height management system is proven systematically help the end users to store their documentations and check compliance with working at height legal requirements from their inspection checklists. The implementation of this system can contribute to the awareness of complying with the regulations and enhance their safety and health practices.

The aim of this research is to study the effects of gamification on end users. Several points of attention have already been highlighted in various research studies (e.g., motivational problems, corporate culture issues, ambiguous social relationships, cultural literacy and gamification paradox). The focus of our experimental study is the evaluation of the impact of a gamified system compared to a non-gamified system on the direct perception of its users. 20 employees tested two versions of the same application: one was gamified and the other one was not-gamified. Then, they responded to different scale-based questions, followed by an interview. It appears that gamification leads to a modification of the lived aspects of user experience without having any effect on the functional aspects. Thus, the application is perceived as being more playful, more engaging, more moving, more symbiotic. This research underlines that, in a work environment, gamification must be applied with an acute knowledge of its impacts.

The relationship between clothing pressure and the evaluation of tightness of the lower leg and foot was examined. Participants were nine young Japanese women in their twenties. Clothing pressures were measured adopting a hydrostatic-pressure balanced method as participants wore three SKSs while standing. The pressure feeling was evaluated employing a ratio scale. The order of the average clothing pressure was sample A > sample B > sample C. However, the feeling of pressure was not in the same order (B > A > C). Our results show that the feeling of tightness depends on the position on the body, and the distribution of clothing pressure is thus important in the development of SKSs. A preferred SKS provides higher pressure for the foot than for the calf/ankle.

With the acceleration of the global integration, an increasing number of projects which require multinational cooperation are carried out worldwide. Standards, as the common requirements and rules for companies involved in these cross-countries projects, become one of their primary concerns. However, different countries vary distinctly in standard systems and there are also substantial discrepancies among their standard contents under the influences of culture background, organization management, language, team behaviors, political issues, regulatory rules and other human factors domains. And thus, there can be many obstacles when companies endeavor to comply with more than one standard at the same time. Confusion during the process of standards adoption, according to statistics, is capable of causing a great loss, from the perspective of both economics and human resources. We conducted an in-depth literature review to generate a conceptual framework, which can orderly simplify cross-country standards adoption (CSA)'s factors. Afterwards, we identified potential influential factors in cross-country standards adoption from a macroergonomics perspective, and provided a new approach to cross-country standards adoption CSA's study. More than 20 influential factors and around 40 indicators were summarized in our framework and key human factors related influential factors were discussed in this paper. Under the framework with those factors identified, it is promising to evaluate their impact quantitatively by using indicator(s) for each factor, and finally to propose insightful guidelines to smooth the process of cross-country projects, particularly in the areas of architecture, transportation and infrastructure construction.

Temporary works designers influence construction ergonomics directly and indirectly. The direct influence is because of design, details, and method of connecting, and depending upon the type of procurement system, supervisory, and administrative interventions. The indirect influence is because of the type of procurement system used, pre-qualification, project duration, partnering, and the facilitating of pre-planning. A questionnaire survey was administered among attendees attending an in-house support work designer and supplier `designing for construction ergonomics' workshop. Findings include: a range of temporary works design related aspects impact on construction ergonomics, and the respondents' organisation considers/refers to such aspects frequently, and on a range of design, procurement, and construction occasions. Experience predominates in terms of how ergonomics knowledge was acquired. It is concluded that respondents contribute to construction ergonomics, but there is potential for enhanced contributions. Recommendations include that tertiary-built environment education should address temporary works design and construction H&S and ergonomics, temporary works design standards should highlight designing for construction H&S and ergonomics, and practice notes, and continuing professional development (CPD) should be evolved.

The constructionist philosophy has a flaw that makes it anti-educational. The flaw lies in the notion, cf. constructivism, that physical objects are information sources. This cannot be true. Physical entities must be mental compositions before they may become physical constructions. Papert's idea of an 'object to think with' is unsound: deriving concepts from percepts leads to error. The realm of number shows this. Thinking about objects, au contraire can be scientifically productive. For this, the notion of a 'physical entity' must encompass the symbolic representation of language. A logico-scientific evolution-based proof shows that perception offers a false view of reality;revealed and overcome through the thoughtful use of technology. On this foundation, a prototype design and technology course for primary school with an emphasis on robotics based on the LEGO (R) system was developed. Outlined and discussed, it is compared and contrasted with work from the MIT Media Lab.

Civil aircraft external service design has great impact on the maintainability and economy of civil aircraft. At the same time, it also has an important impact on the workload, operation pattern and accessibility of ground crew. Due to all above reasons, ergonomics research should be paid attention to in the design phase. This paper mainly discusses the ergonomic considerations in the layout and design of external service in the aircraft design phase, which provides some guidance for the civil aircraft external service design.
