In Ecuador, ergonomic risk is present in all types of work activity. 1759 ergonomic evaluations were carried out between 2012 and 2017 applying methodologies validated and used worldwide. The results establish that more than 90% of jobs have an unacceptable level of ergonomic risk which determines that technical and organizational corrective measures must be taken to reduce or eliminate the risk and avoid a high incidence of musculoskeletal problems in the working population of the country.

As a result of the identified safety threats in the construction, the research project have been developed in Poland entitled Scaffold Use Risk Assessment Model for Construction Process Safety SURAM-financed by National Centre for Research and Development -NCBIR- PBS3/A2/19/2015 in the period 2016-2018. This paper is focusing on human factor area and implementation of SMIs' mobile Eye-tracker and further data analyzed by Be Gaze tool, also provided by SMI company to estimate worker visual concentration as an potential predictor of probability of developing dangerous situation leading to the occupational accident.

In the way of smoothing driver interaction with highly automated vehicles, we designed an immersive (VR + serious game) training program with a focus on improving drivers' mental model. Then, we tackled the usability flaws and upgraded the preliminary serious game (PSG) to usability-improved serious game (USG). Three groups of participants-no-training, PSG and USG-were tested to explore the effects of immersive training on drivers performance and experiences in highly automated driving. The results showed that both training programs significantly improved driving performance and resulted in faster takeover time (TOT), longer time-to-collision (TTC), and fewer number of the collision. Moreover, the participants in training groups reported less erratic acceptance and more calibrated trust compared to the control group. Although improving usability in USG led to better flow experience (enjoyment and engagement) and lower cognitive load during the learning process, it did not contribute significantly to training transferability.

Small-scale mining is one of the most unsafe human activities in the Philippines. This paper aims to measure the gap between the concept of safety among miners and the local government mining monitoring body. This study checked the difference in percentage of exposure of miners on hazards in mining sites based on their perception and the perception of officials of local government mining monitoring body specifically the Department of Environment and Natural Resources at the provincial (PENRO) and municipal (MENRO) levels and the local level disaster risk management (LLDRM). An assessment tool was developed and used in three mining sites. To compare their agreement on safety, the study used Cohen's kappa, a statistical tool for assessing inter-rater reliability when observing categorical variables. There was a big difference in the knowledge of safety and safety standards for miners and monitoring officials.

Thousands of people die each year due to motor vehicle crashes in the US. Research has found that an overwhelming majority of severe motor vehicle crashes occur due to human error. Advanced Driver Assistance systems (ADAS) are designed to support drivers with information and added vehicle control in critical situations. However, successful implementation of these technologies requires drivers to accept them, spend money to include them in vehicles and use them while driving. This study investigated the utility of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to explain driver acceptance of ADAS using a driving simulator study. Thirty-seven participants were given a 10-min. driving experience with a simulated driver assistance system. After the drive, they responded to an acceptance survey that measured different constructs of TAM. The results confirm that TAM constructs can significantly predict drivers' willingness to use an ADAS, explaining more than 68% (Adj. R-2) of the variability.

To floating dams for limiting the expansion of the hydrocarbon film to the sea surface, different physicochemical processes are used which consist in the gelation of the marginal portion of the oil film by polymerization or by the dispersal of various products that prevent the expansion of the oil pan by altering superficial tension contact oil. For the design of the composite structure destined to the blocking, capture and storage of the oil fractions, several structural analyses has been performed by considering the initial conditions differentiated as a function of wind force measured on Beaufort Scale. In this respect, a specialized software that allows the setting of calculation parameters, performing actual calculations, processing, visualization and export of numerical data was used. The structural analysis was based on the theories of continuous medium mechanics. The values resulting from the structural analysis for: structural deformation, Von Mises stress values, displacement vectors, as well as those resulting from the use of membrane theory, allowed the determination of the structural parameters necessary for the design of the textile structure.

The aim of the presented work is to outline a theoretical approach to the integration of robots into didactic contexts, with a specific focus on enactive didactic processes. In the first part of the article we will discuss, respectively, the framework of social robotics and that of enaction. In the second section we will theorize about ways to combine these two frameworks into an effective "Enactive Robot Assisted Didactics". The final discussion will reflect on the central position that robotic design plays in this cross-fertilization, and the outstanding role that the maker movement can play in this undertaking.

Evaluating all phases of Fashion Products, it is realized that the linear make-disposal model of Fashion has no longer future. This wasteful and polluting system has been replaced more and more by strategies based on a circular economy which aims to keep the highest clothing value, textiles and fibers during the use and re-enter the economy afterwards, never ending up as waste. The sustainable concepts of the new textile economy can provide new products and new services models that would enhance the benefit experienced by customers. With the aim to know the opportunity of people having a dynamic wardrobe (based on second-hand clothes, rental or personalized clothes) the present study shows a survey results on academic female population in order to investigate which items they most like and would never leave their closets. We realized that in 25 female students there is an interest for the same types of clothes and colors, even finding that the way the Fashion System is currently based is completely out of step with consumer behavior.

This study presents the work-in-progress implementation of a smart learning ecosystem being developed to support learner centered pedagogy such as digital storytelling and recent technologies such blockchain and microsites. The implementation of the ecosystem follows the design science research framework and the universal accessibility guidelines to provide the users with a smart, accessible and responsive learning environment. Besides helping the teacher to analyze students' progress through the learning analytics component, this ecosystem will help the student to access learning content irrespective of their disabilities and other constraints.
