Considering serious environmental pollution caused by phosphogypsum and the scarce of phosphate rock resource, the recycling utilisation of phosphogypsum has significant influence on the sustainable development. To promote the recycling utilisation of phosphogypsum, this paper studies the phosphogypsum reduction in phosphate fertilizer plants based on the stack allowance trading mechanism. According to the detail analysis, an optimization model has been established to describe and resolve the complexity of the phosphogypsum reduction problem. In the optimization process, the uncertain environment and stack allowance trading mechanism have been fully considered. A practical case is given to demonstrates the efficiency of the formulated method. The results indicates that the stack allowances trading mechanism all the phosphate fertilizer plants to make more flexible operation decision, which not only realize the environmental pollution mitigation and PG recycling, but also promote each phosphate fertilizer plant sustainable development.

With the development of event-based social network, the ways and tools of people's online and offline social activities have changed dramatically. IEBSN emphasizes the impromptu of social events, which will lead to inaccurate and inefficient event recommendation. To address this problem, we propose a novel dynamic scene recognition method for IEBSN, which combines supervised learning and unsupervised learning. Aiming at the similarity and inconsistency between classes in scene recognition, we propose a convolution feature encoder, which can extract more scene visual information. In order to meet the unexpected requirement of application level, the images whose convolution module is lower than a certain threshold are clustered with k-means. Experiments show that this method can automatically identify the scene in IEBSN application efficiently, and alleviate the problems in scene recognition.

This paper presents Specular Photometric Stereo (SPS), which is a Photometric Stereo (PS) technique incorporating specular reflection. The proposed SPS uses multiple images of a surface under different lighting conditions to obtain surface normals similarly to the conventional PS, but uniquely utilizes specular components of a dark surface, which reflects little diffuse light. The proposed framework consists of two sequential numerical steps, which are the conversion of a highly non-linear specular reflection model to a non-linear equation with only one non-linear parameter, and then the iterative removal of the diffuse components. The proposed SPS can estimate normals of dark surfaces, which is not possible by the conventional PS. The proposed SPS was examined using synthesized data and then tested with real-world surfaces. The results of surface normal estimation show that the capability of the proposed SPS over the existing PS in both accuracy and computational cost.

Navigation in the Arctic region is strongly compromised due to extreme environmental conditions. Among the others, correct positioning is the most critical aspect to manage in such environmental conditions. The main criticality for this can be ascribed to the low-orbit of satellites used for positioning, which implies very weak signals received at ground. To overcome such limitations, this work aims to investigate and develop a solution that provides highly accurate positioning by monitoring and mitigating the ionospheric impact on GNSS signals. Improving quality of the received signals allows for safer routes for Arctic shipping. To this end, this study foresees the deployment of an ad-hoc regional wireless network, where each node is a GNSS station. This paper describes the technological choices made to guarantee the operation of the GNSS stations network in such harsh environments. Specifically, the paper focuses on the description of the low power communication and computing subsystems.

The purpose of this study is to assess the interaction between walking and emotion variation. Two-dimension walking condition map and the two-dimension emotion map were used to understand their relation. According to the tendency of the changing walking gait in response to the emotion variation, we found that two factors can be influenced by each other. Therefore, by using this relation, we proposed an evaluation method for the user obtaining a better rehabilitation effect while using the assistive device. We recommended that the patient should walk comfortably through following the personal walking limitation, they thus can freely two-way control the emotion and walking while using an assistive device. To conclude, our proposed evaluation method can be employed for various assistive devices.

The bio-inspired optimization algorithms play vital role in many research domains and this work analyzes animal behavior optimization algorithm. Medical image segmentation helps the physicians for disease diagnosis and treatment planning. This work incorporates ABO algorithm for cluster centroid selection in Fuzzy C-means clustering segmentation algorithm. The Animal Behavior Optimization (ABO) algorithm was developed based on the group behavior and was validated on 13 benchmark functions. The dominant nature of an animal species decides the fitness function value and each solution in problem space depicts the animal position. The ABO algorithm was coupled with the classical FCM for the analysis of region of interest in abdomen CT and brain MR datasets. The results were found to be efficient when compared with the FCM coupled with artificial bee colony (ABC), firefly, and cuckoo optimization algorithms. The promising results generated by ABC makes it an efficient one for real-world problems.

Algebraic biology is engaged in mathematical modeling of the structural features of the molecular genetic system and the inherited properties of organisms (phyllotaxis, inheritance of traits in Mendelian genetics, Weber-Fechner law, etc.) without a detailed analysis of genome reading processes. At the same time algebraic biology is a deeply systemic science. The consideration of human person as a system, including the subsystem of his intellect, modeled in some degree by artificial intelligence, leads to the necessity of using the methods of categorical theory of systems in addition to classical algebraic methods. When producing a numerical control (NC) program for a 5-axis CNC machine (the so-called milling robot) to mill a sculptural surface, a constant feed rate value is usually assigned based on programmer's experiences. For this reason, the feed rate in most of NC programs is often not optimized, it is much lower than maximum reachable value. To increase the productivity of the machining process, the feed rate in NC programs for the milling robots need to be maximized. This paper proposes a new feed rate optimization model, of which the objective function and all the kinematic constraints are transformed and expressed explicitly in a parametric domain which is commonly used in the tool path generation process performed by current CAM systems. Thus, the optimal feed rate values along a parametric tool path can be computed in an effective and simplified manner. Numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
