The paper presents the AI planning technology developed to study poorly formalized subjects domains, the knowledge of which is of a quantitative and qualitative character. The technology implements constraint programming paradigm and supports the subject domain model being open for operative modifications, which allows inclusion or exclusion of constraints, quality criteria, as well as setting the initial and goal states specified by subdefinite parameters. The originality of this work lies in the fact that a new type of constraints, namely smart table constraint of D-type, is proposed for representation and efficient processing of the production rules, with their processing being carried out by the authors' methods of non-numerical constraints satisfaction, which gives the substantial gain in the performance against the conventional algorithms of table constraints propagation.

This two-part paper is concerned with the problem of motion planning and control of PIAP IRYS social robot mobile platform, which is the adapted NOMAD 200 robot. In the first part of the work the developed hardware and software architectures of the research object, as well as its kinematic structure are described. The robot consists of two independent components: (1) a head with a trunk and (2) a mobile platform. As the mobile platform the modernized version of NOMAD 200 robot with synchronously driven and steered wheels was used. The mobile platform was equipped among others with modern low-level miControl motor controllers and a high-level controller working under GNU/Linux operating system with Robot Operating System framework. Kinematics of the three-wheeled robot is discussed and software architecture including ROS-based navigation system is described.

Remotely piloted aircraft systems are a new component of the aviation system and based on cutting-edge developments in aerospace technologies. Research has shown that the responsibilities of the operator of remotely piloted aircraft systems could be over-specified and often deal with extensive information. This paper aims to determine how to keep a sufficient level of information component of the reliability of the operator. In this context, methods of human operator reliability improving were considered. Based on a review of the literature on human factors, it was determined that redundancy could increase the reliability of human-operator. The results indicate that there are hardware, information, algorithmic and time redundancy. On this basis, it is recommended to use the identification of potential radio-controlled areas as algorithmic redundancy for the operator. Further research is needed to identify other factors that could strengthen the effectiveness and reliability of the operator.

Keystroke dynamics facilitates the identification of a person by the way they type. This article focuses on analysing the robustness of keystroke dynamics algorithms against variations in biometric records through electroencephalography, using waves associated with states of relaxation and excitement and a self-report questionnaire. An experiment was conducted to capture keystroke patterns in different affective states. The results suggested specific classification distances such as A and R metrics, Canberra distance and two Minkowski-based distances have their accuracy slightly and negatively influenced by changing moods. Euclidean distance seemed to be the least affected.

In 2017, Singh et al. constructed a secure cloud-based (2, 2) secret image sharing with the capability of tampering detection using (r, n) Permutation Ordered Binary (POB) number system. This scheme can solve the problem of secure storage of image-shares at cloud servers, and is also capable of authenticating image-shares at pixel level. However, Singh et al.'s scheme assumes that participants already know the parameters r in (r, n) POB, on which they can recover each image pixel efficiently. In fact, the distribution of parameters r is not that easy as described in their scheme, it needs secure channels and the storage of r is almost same as the share. In Singh et al.'s scheme, the authors did not show how to share the information of r among participants. In this paper, we proposed a new secret image sharing using (r, n) POB number system which is extended from Singh et al.'s framework. In our scheme, the parameters r for all image pixels are identical and are publicly published. Thus, the problem of Singh et al.'s scheme is solved. In addition, our scheme can also authenticate tampered shares at pixel level.

In the last decade, Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) have been widely used to solve optimization problems in the real world. EAs are population-based algorithms, starting the search with initial set of candidates or chromosomes, for the optimal solution of a given optimization problem. Traditional EAs use a population with Fixed Length Chromosomes (FLCs). In FLCs, all the chromosomes will have same length, whereas, in Variable Length Chromosomes (VLCs), a population can have chromosomes of different lengths. This paper proposes to use VLCs in the context of Multi-Objective Differential Evolution (MODE) algorithm. The MODE with VLCs is to solve RFID reader placement problem for the buildings with multiple rooms of different sizes. The type of coverage of RFID readers considered is elliptical. Based on the dimensions of each room, the number of RFID readers required is varied, which warrants the deployment of VLCs. This paper also presents the consequence of VLCs, in solving the RFID reader placement problem using different weight vectors.

With a large collection of digital music in recent days, the challenge is to organize and access the music efficiently. Research in the field of Music Information Retrieval (MIR) focuses on these challenges. In this paper, we develop a system which automatically identifies the instrument in a given Carnatic music on ten different types of instruments. We extract the well-known features namely, MFCC and LPC, and analyze the capability of these features in distinguishing different instruments. Then, we apply, the classification techniques like, Artificial Neural Network, Support Vector Machine, and Bayesian classifiers on those features. We compare the performances of those algorithms along with different features for Carnatic music instruments identification.
