Many government agencies everywhere in the globe, including those in the developing regions, are intimately involved in developing their Information systems (IS) projects. To favourably develop these IS projects, those agencies have spent lots of funding, forces and time to assure that they are amply equipped with the latest system design and analysis methods. However, the literature is scarce with the published evidence showing that these government agencies are claiming that they have successfully used these cultivated analysis and design techniques. The intricate system analysis and design techniques may only remain theoretical with limited use. Many of these system analysis and design techniques had never succeeded the claimed benefits made when they were acquired, which begs the principal research question of what is the present deployment state of system analysis and design in these government institutions, particularly in the developing regions? The article thus discusses the exploratory case studies on the present state of system analysis and design methods deployed by the public institutions in East Malaysia, a developing region within South-East Asia.

The purpose of this research is to provide knowledge about the implementation of tools and useful elements in STEM-STEAM education, in a universal way, through a systematic review of the literature. The methodology SLR used is applied to engineering and education. 92 articles were selected from the Scopus database. The results allow identifying that STEM-STEAM education is implemented based on educational policies and reforms to improve teaching and learning, with the purpose of developing skills for problem-solving, fostering creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, data management, and analysis, as well as the use of learning environments with the implementation of curricula that integrate the subjects of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art in an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary manner. In conclusion, this type of education allows for quality education in the educational institutions, through the use of different tools that allow active, localized, goal-oriented, collaborative, and meaningful learning.

The automotive industry is steadily moving towards fully autonomous vehicles, and it is becoming important to understand attitudes towards them. This study is an aspect of the *** project with Jaguar-Land Rover, RDM Automotive, and The University of Warwick's Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG). Uniquely, we used a prototype fully autonomous vehicle, and were interested in pedestrian attitudes towards this vehicle manoeuvring in close proximity. Using virtual reality (VR) cameras, we filmed 18 manoeuvring scenarios and presented them using VR equipment. Participants answered four short rating-scale questions after each exposure, and self-reported less trust and safety when the vehicle was faster and closer. This work has implications both for real-world autonomous vehicles, and for further use of VR technology. That the VR environments seemed sufficiently convincing to evoke consistent responses from volunteers represents a considerable opportunity across a variety of experimental domains, and can improve further with advances in this technology.

In a linear narrative of a 3D animation the viewer is led, without choice, through a number of spaces, events, conclusions, expectations, premonitions, anticipations, fears, joys, empathy and dislikes, characters and environments, fictional readings in dreamlike narratives, where reality and fantasy that tend to blend. Across this experience of fiction-perceived, understood, felt and judged-an animation viewer does not have, without being aware of it, any possibility of free will, because after all he is being driven to feel and watch a story that is narrated from inside, along its multiple steps. Differently, in a Videogame the Player is allowed to act on the plot's fictional world, in its characters and events. In this tale storytelling and script, the referred linearity would become here in theoretically infinite lines of possible events and plots, with diverse endings, in which a narrative story line diverges in multiple plots. Or is it not so?

This experiment determined how 19 Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets rationalize military tactics decisions using two different displays through qualitative data analysis. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to understand platoon and squad level decision-making to help influence the development of adaptive training systems. IPA is a process through which the participant experience is analyzed through a dual interpretation methodology, where participants provide meaning of their world, followed by an empirical assessment to categorize and define the participants' perspectives of their experiences. The tactical questions covered topics that would typically be covered in a military science junior level class. Results include the importance of terrain elevation differences between friendly and enemy forces, as well as the importance of cover and concealment and distance. The findings from this experiment are currently being developed into a large scale assessment in collaboration with the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Touchless gesture control can be used for controlling various functions inside the vehicle. However, what added value can be created by touchless gesture control? Within a Wizard-of-Oz experiment in the driving simulator, we investigated the potential benefits of gesture control when switching on the cabin light, adjusting the roller blind, setting the radio volume, and calling up an information screen. For several functions, we found that in comparison to conventional controls touchless gesture control potentially increases driving safety, reduces the time required for input, and is physically less demanding. Due to its benefits, participants perceived touchless gesture control as useful and attractive, which makes touchless gesture control a serious alternative to conventional input modalities, provided that it works accurately.

This article provides a discussion on the use of the Kalman filter at the stage of analysis of vehicle motion dynamics to assess the condition of the road transport infrastructure. The tool used to record the vehicle motion dynamics was the Road Condition Tool application designed and implemented as a part of the international S-mile project under the programme entitled ERANET: Transport - Sustainable logistics and supply chains. An outcome of the data recording and analysis is a description of the operating condition of road pavements. The concept addressed in the study, namely the implementation of the Kalman filter at the data analysis stage, makes it possible to reduce the input data set, which affects the measuring tool's response time. On the other hand, the adopted signal filtration procedure allows for the infrastructure condition to be described in a more favourable manner from the perspective of the conclusions to be formulated.

This paper is a short communication introducing a novel method for stakeholder analysis, Change Agent Infrastructure (CHAI). The method is specifically developed in the context of ergonomics/work environment-related change projects and is meant for early stages of change projects. It maps potential stake-holders against eight distinct "roles" that have been found in previous research to facilitate or hinder workplace change. Mapping the "decision dilemmas" that stakeholders may face, as well as identifying over- or underrepresented roles, may benefit the change project in terms of determining information needs and how the project team should be staffed. The method has been iteratively developed and tested in educational and research projects. The method is visual, participative and helps to clarify the various participants' understanding of the change at hand and what it means for them-this contributes positively to information strategies and decisions that facilitates the planning and execution of a sustainable change.

People who spend a significant amount of time on driving are concerned about seating comfort. Seat cushion is considered as one of the important factors affecting the comfort of your seat. In automotive seat cushions, flexible polyurethane foam has been widely used for vibration isolation and cushioning purpose. More recently, car seat designers are paying more attention to improving car seat cushion for ride comfort of drivers and passengers. This study introduces the new type of balance seat where cushion is designed with a 2-layered honeycomb structure made of a high elastic polymer, Vetagel. The purpose of this study is to analyze seating comfort of car seat with honeycomb structured balance seat and compare with car seat without balance seat. For experiment, the honeycomb structured balance seat was placed on the car seat. Vibration experiments have been performed on the Buzz Squeak and Rattle (BSR) simulator with random vibration to verify the effectiveness of the balance seat for vibration comfort. Tri-axial accelerometers were used to record vibration at the foot and hip. All vibration parameters measured in the vertical direction (z-axis). The whole-body vibration exposure parameters such as weighted root-mean-square (RMS), transmissibility (SEAT value) calculated as per ISO 2631-1 standard. Ten healthy participants attended that experiment and grouped according to body weight. In result, the measured vibration satisfied the ISO 2631-1 standard in case of without a balance seat but was in close margin. When the balance seat was used, the vibration met the ISO 2631-1 standard and was in safe limit from vibration discomfort. The SEAT value had a reduction of vibration when using the balance seat as compared with the absence of it in all of groups.

Runway incursions are a major concern for modern airport in order to reduce accidents. When planes, vehicles or people are on the runway without approval a runway incursion may occur. Runway incursions could be a result of many different contributing factors from human errors to design flaws. Runway incursions are responsible for a majority of accidents at aerodromes and with growing traffic volumes;they have been raised to the top of many airports safety agenda. The aim of this study was to look at the critical safety system of runway incursions to see what safety measures that are in place and also to analyze that system with the help of risk management tools. It was found that top management commitment to safety is very important. Finally, training and the proper use of signal systems was also an important factor in maintaining a safe runway.
