The mechanism to enhance the performance of the supply chain by coordination policy is analyzed in detail. The simple supply chain is modeled as a decentralized two-level inventory system, and the optimal decision formulas are deduced for the firms at their stages in the supply chain by systematic optimality. The result of numerical experiment shows that the coordination failure is observed in the simple deterministic decentralized inventory system. It is proved obviously that the proper revenue sharing contract design is a useful coordinating tool to incentive the firms to choose actions which lead firms and total supply chain to global optimization as a result.

The paper describes system architecture for storing and managing video resources. Presented architecture is based on the cloud. It will propose a way to optimize the costs associated with storing large files by using two types of storage. The first one will be dedicated to high-resolution files. The use of transcoder will be discussed including creation of a file of lower resolution. Such files will be stored in a second above-mentioned type of storage, which is available from the client application and is shared within end users. To illustrate the idea of cost optimization the services provided by Amazon were used. The paper describes a case study of highly scalable video archive with a dedicated web application. The process of hiring is extremely crucial for any organization. It's existing methodology, from resume screening, preliminary rounds, face to face interviews, all of it involves huge manual effort. Thus, it is crucial to implement a hiring process that reduces human intervention, screens candidates on consistent and standard criteria, makes the system flexible and trackable thus enhancing the mode of operation of the current system and consequently reducing human effort. We propose an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based recruiting system that serves as a decision support system for recruiters, especially useful for preliminary or initial screening rounds. AI for recruiting is the application of artificial intelligence to the process of recruitment, that is to automate the preliminary rounds of the recruiting system and to filter candidates from a large applicant pool with minimal human intervention. We have implemented a real-time AI based assessment system with a closed domain intelligent question answering (henceforth mentioned as QA) system in the backend and incorporated an adaptive question generation algorithm for making the process equivalent to a real interview environment.

The usage of the expression is not unconnected with the fact that the challenge of climate change has been one of the topmost issues on political as well as corporate agenda. Therefore, calculations of carbon footprint have been in high demand. Scholars have proposed so many approaches to providing estimates. The methods runs from uncomplicated online calculations to other ones like complex life-cycle examination otherwise called input-output-based technique and tools. In spite of its ever-present use, it is clear that the term 'carbon footprint' does not have a generally acceptable academic definition. Thus, there is a dearth of clarifications of what 'carbon footprint' is in the scientific literature despite the fact that there are several studies or researches on energy as well as ecological economics which should have measured what precisely 'carbon footprint' is. Therefore, this particular paper is an attempt to explore the obvious inconsistency in the use of some terminology in both public and in the academic contexts. In this work, a document clustering based on relevant terms into an untagged medical text corpus approach is presented. To achieve this, to create a list of documents containing each word is necessary. Then, for relevant term extraction, the frequency of each term is obtained in order to compute the word weight into the corpus and into each document. Finally, the clusters are built by mapping using main concepts from an ontology and the relevant terms (only subjects), assuming that if two words appear in the same documents these words are related. The obtained clusters have a category corresponding to ontology concepts, and they are measured with cluster from K-Means (assuming the k-Means cluster were well formed) using the Overlap Coefficient and obtaining 70% of similarity among the clusters.

In this paper is proposed an inclusion of the Social Force Model (SFM) into a concrete Deep Reinforcement Learning (RL) framework for robot navigation. These types of techniques have demonstrated to be useful to deal with different types of environments to achieve a goal. In Deep RL, a description of the world to describe the states and a reward adapted to the environment are crucial elements to get the desire behaviour and achieve a high performance. For this reason, this work adds a dense reward function based on SFM and uses the forces in the states like an additional description. Furthermore, obstacles are added to improve the behaviour of works that only consider moving agents. This SFM inclusion can offer a better description of the obstacles for the navigation. Several simulations have been done to check the effects of these modifications in the average performance.

This paper presents an efficient method to improve the contrast of low contrast images and at the same time provides satisfactory performances in terms of image contrast and sharpness. It is based on numerical cubic interpolation formula known as Simpson's 3/8th rule. The neighboring pixel information is used in interpolation method, and it gives the high contrast image and also preserves fine details of the images. Different quality-based parameters are used to measure the improvement of the contrast of the images. The obtained results are compared with various standard existing methods for further validation.

The GCC have common traditions and cultural aspects. The study is trying to answer one main question about the challenges and opportunities for success for depending on virtual project teams in managing GCC projects. Two sub-questions are derived from the main question: what factors do GCC countries have to make virtual project teams succeed? What benefits and obstacles the managers of virtual project teams may have in GCC countries zone? In the first part of this paper, the researchers are analyzing critically the state of the art literature in the field of virtual project teams. Pre- or post-operational chemo-radiotherapy have become one of the standard adjuvant therapies in recent years. Though both chemo- and radiotherapy protocols are standardized, the question about the order in which they should be applied, or concurrency, remains an open question. In this work we attempt to answer it with mathematical modeling and optimization of two-dimensional control that represents therapy in a control-theory based approach. In order to address this problem, two issues are discussed. First, two different ways of modeling tumor growth under therapy are compared. For each of them, the necessary conditions for optimal control representing the therapy are presented and discussed. Then, Kaplan-Meier survival curves are compared for standard therapy protocols used in clinics and different approaches to model tumor growth. Finally, a framework for analysis of treatment efficacy is presented, in which optimization and survival analysis are used sequentially.
