This paper presents two control methodologies to obtain a robust performance of a robot manipulator. A dynamic model of the manipulator driven by three-phase induction motors is formulated. A torque control of one of the joints is presented. Torque control is very important, because you can determine the critical load that can be carried by the manipulator. Furthermore, using the inverse dynamics model it is possible to determine the positions and speeds of the manipulator joint. In this work, robust control techniques were implemented, such as Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) and Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI), and these two approaches are compared in performance. In addition, a Loop Transfer Recovery (LTR) procedure is used to achieve robustness to the uncertainties in the state estimation.

Chinese characters cement Far Eastern cultures: they can be found for example in the Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese writing systems. Digital computer systems originate from the Occident, during or shortly after the second world war. Their usage has thus been centred on horizontal, left-to-right layouts, typesetting and I/O, which has created a gap between these systems and, for instance, Far Eastern cultures whose writing systems are traditionally vertical right-to-left (RTL). Although some improvements have been made in this field over time, there are still several major issues. In this paper, we conduct an experiment, which is a proof of concept, to investigate the feasibility and usability of a user interface that abides by the vertical RTL typesetting rules. The results obtained show that while some of these gaps could be filled, there remain several technological challenges.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed education forever because schools, universities, teachers, and students had to adapt to distance learning. Multiple differences are identified with online learning compared to face-to-face education. First, students must be more responsible. Second, users' familiarity with using computers varies significantly. Third, the traditional interaction between teacher, student and content are made more complicated by the introduction of technology. The application of new tools related to the student, teacher, content, technology, software, and communication results in the improvement of teaching methods in online learning. When new tools are applied and there is an improvement in the results in online education, the student, teacher, and educational institutions benefit from it. Emotion plays an important role in the knowledge, acquisition, and decision process of an individual. Consequently, they directly influence perception, learning process, and the way people communicate. There is also significant evidence that rational learning in humans is dependent on emotions. In this paper, we presented a solution with a new intelligent Tutoring Framework, that analyzed emotions in a non-intrusive and non-invasive way.

Brain-computer interface (BCI) is a communication system which enables the user to interact with a computer using brain signals recorded with an electroencephalograph (EEG). This feature is vital for persons with such severe form of paralysis as is displayed in locked-in syndrome, where patients experience total paralysis but they retain their consciousness. With the rise of affordable commercial EEG headsets there is a possibility of improving their quality of life (QOL).

Link prediction among the objects of data is one of the essential tasks in several application fields, such as spam mail detection, expert detection, information retrieval, influence detection, recommender system, surveillance of communication, and disease prediction. Link prediction aims to estimate the missing link based on the existing links in the given complex network. To solve the link prediction problem, different techniques have been introduced. The similarity-based link prediction techniques are effective, but still imperfect. To better the predicting accuracy, we introduce a link prediction technique that aims to improve the accuracy of the existing link prediction problem by combining the mutual nodes or neighbor with the feature or information of popular nodes. We also examine the proposed technique empirically and lead extensive tests over complex network datasets obtained from different domains. The experimental results show that the proposed technique has performed well as compared to other state-of-the-art techniques. The average result of the proposed link predictor is 0.8812 while others are CN 0.8734, Katz 0.8112, LHN 0.7778, PA 0.7367, and PD accuracy is 0.6538.

Non-technical skills are a set of human cognitive and social skills which are integrated and used along side with technical skills. T In each of these fields of work it is important to define the most valuable non-technical skills for a specific profession and how to further develop this set of skills during early studies and the learning process as a whole. The project OnBoard-Med aims at developing more aligned vocational education programmes in the Central Baltic area. The shipping industry has become multinational, therefore recognizing problems in education cannot easily be solved on a national level. A cross-border approach is needed to tackle the issue. The project develops study courses in maritime emergency management, medical treatment and occupational safety. education institutions. Blended-learning tools include face-to-face actions, e-learning courses, simulations and, of course, mobile communication, especially by emergency simulations (maritime emergency management, medical communication by accidents on sea etc.). The project results in harmonized and improved education and non-technical skills. Participants get excellent professional skills by using blended learning tools - combining lessons on e-learning platform OPTIMA and simulations face-to-face. Further, the results will help local employees to enter the European and international labor market.

Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth generation of advancements in Manufacturing that enables data driven processes, Predictive maintenance, Lights-Out Manufacturing among others. Industry 4.0 comprises of elements from Cyber Physical systems, Industrial IoT, Big data, Cloud computing, AI and ML. However, Networking at the which is at the heart of these technologies has not had a major improvement, we wish to address this in this paper. The goal of this paper is to highlight the challenges in the current networking infrastructure for Industry 4.0 and propose a new standard for networking in Industry 4.0. Software Defined Networking is a emerging technology in the field of networking which provides for a centralised Control Plane and enables Network Function Virtualisation for Industry 4.0. OpenFlow Stack is used for building the solution. The outcomes of the paper include: Provide an SDN Architecture for the above system. Different zones have to be integrated to provide the ability for Centralized Control plane without compromising confidentiality. The system should be scalable for widespread deployment across multiple plants and manufacturers. This project deals with design and development of a Software Defined Networking (SDN) architecture for Industry 4.0, which involves integration of various components of OpenStack and openFlow. In this project, we identify the limitations and gaps in the current networking architecture for Industry 4.0 and propose a solution for the same. The openstack implementation of the project is done, Different Results of the implementation and its advantages are discussed along with scope for future implementation. This addresses a key challenge in Networking for Industry 4.0.

Big Data, being a massive amount of data, which requires technologies, information architecture and systems design, and analytical methods, has a significant impact on modern society and the development of security area strategies. This paper investigates the importance of Big Data in policing and discusses the challenges arising from its appliance to maintain public order. It is presented a theoretical study, based on a literature review in the context of policing that allows the establishment of the construct in which the Portuguese National Public Security developed its own Strategic Information System. For the study, some inclusion and exclusion criteria were used to narrow the gaps for a better understanding of the subject. Even though some questions arise from using the Big Data, such as processing, profiling, parsing algorithms that can conduct excessive normalisations of the data, Big Data is leverage in policing and a tool of predictive policing.

Prisons are in a state of constant institutional change, marked by extensive development processes. The subject of different studies is the analysis of development processes in prisons, for which suitable strategies of organizational and personnel development are required. In this context, the area of further vocational training is of particular importance, whereby this should be based primarily on the work-related further training of the prison officers. The research question that arises is how to combine work and learning in a meaningful way. The systematization of the work structures and work tasks of prison officers has the purpose of presenting their varied and demanding professional profile. The importance is closely linked to the management and communication policy in the departments, which will be presented. The complex methodology of the author includes 42 expert interviews, 51 workplace observations and 8 group discussions in three Saxon prisons in Germany. In the joint discussion, the aim should be to transfer the identified approaches to discovering learning potential in work structures and tasks to the field of technical and engineering sciences and to exchange experiences.
