Discovering and recommending points of interest are drawing more attention to meet the increasing demand from personalized tours. In this paper, we propose and evaluate a new fuzzy-based system for decision of sightseeing spots considering different conditions. In our system, we considered four input parameters: Current Number of People (CNP), Air Quality (AQ), Ambient Humidity (AH) and Noise Levle (NL) to decide the sightseeing spots Visit or Not Visit (VNV). We evaluate the proposed system by computer simulations. From the simulations results, we conclude that when CNP and AQ are increased, the VNV is increased and when the AH is about 50%, the VNN is the best. But when NL is increased, the PR is decreased. The simulation results have shown that the proposed system has a good performance and can choose good sightseeing spots.

This paper studies the changes on a Ferrofluid (FF)-based longitudinally rough porous plane slider bearing (PSB) caused by the slip velocity (SV). The impact of magnetic fluid (MF) lubrication has been analyzed by using the Neuringer and Rosensweig model. The changes exerted by longitudinal roughness have been studied using the stochastic averaging model of Christensen and Tonder. The effects of SV are calculated by using the slip model of Beavers-Joseph. The pressure distribution (PD) expression has been calculated by solving the related nondimensional Reynolds' type equation. These calculations have been used to calculate the load carrying capacity (LCC). According to the results, LCC increases due to MF lubricant. The surface roughness, on the other hand, has a negative impact on the performance. The same goes for the SV. However, it has been found that these adversities caused by surface roughness, SV, and porosity can be partially neutralized by the positive impact of magnetization, though it can be said that SV in general decreases the bearing performance.

Health organizations are investing in the development of telehealth systems to expand advances in health care to the homes of the Brazilian population. The adoption of telehealth aims to broaden basic monitoring and promote access to health services. Telehealth systems present a confidential data set containing patient health history, medication prescriptions, and medical diagnostics. However, in Brazil, there are no cybersecurity studies to address factors that impact patient manipulation and data transfer. Understanding cybersecurity impacts is critical for telehealth development strategies. The research reported here used several factors related to cyberattacks and cybersecurity vulnerabilities, combined with the approach to Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs), to identify the links between these elements. An evaluation using FCMs has proven to be able to describe the complexity of the system by providing an appropriate visual tool for staff to develop planning. The experimental results of the study contributed to supporting cybersecurity improvements in telehealth.

Student retention is one of the biggest challenges facing academic institutions worldwide as it does not only affects the student negatively but also hinders institutional quality and reputation. In this paper, we use classification techniques to predict retention at an academic institution based in the Middle East. Our study relies solely on pre-college and college performance data available in the institutional database to predict dropouts at an early stage. We built a predictive model to study retention until graduation and compare the performance of five standard algorithms and five ensemble algorithms in effectively predicting dropouts as early as possible. The results showed that ensemble predictors outperform standard classification algorithms by effectively predicting dropouts using enrollment data with an Area Under the Curve (AUC) of 88.4%.

Binarization is the most important step in the OCR system that converts the gray level or colored images into bi-level form. In the case of degraded images, results after binarization mostly contain noises. Salt and pepper noise of different sizes is the most prevalent noise in binary images. For the better results of OCR process, it is necessary to denoise image before proceeding to the next stage. This paper conducts experiments with different existing salt and pepper noise removal methods such as median filter-based techniques and kFill algorithm-based techniques for binary document images. The statistical measures, namely, PSNR, SSIM, and EPI are used to evaluate the performance.

Given higher education in Morocco suffers from the increasing number of students in institutions with open access policy, the issue of language and communication, the heterogeneous academic level of students, the inability to adapt schedules for students, the evolution of new technologies, etc., innovative pedagogy has become a necessity to address these challenges. Additionally, new modes of adaptive learning need to be designed to develop innovative training programs. Many authors agree that "innovation in pedagogy concerns everything that is not part of formal education" (Lison et al. 2014). In 2016, the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with GIP FUN MOOC, and the French Embassy signed an agreement to establish a platform MUN "Morocco Digital University". The purpose of the agreement is to encourage Moroccan Universities to develop Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Small Private Online Courses (SPOCs), and other forms of online courses and to reinforce partnership with French Universities in e-learning. MOOCs were developed in 2008, and after four years of operation, the New York Times considered 2012 "The year of the MOOC". Since then, new features of MOOCs have motivated decision makers in higher education from across the world to create a number of online courses in their institutions. By studying the characteristics of various web application vulnerabilities, the causes and detection methods of SQL injection vulnerabilities are analyzed in detail. In addition, functions such as URL (Uniform Resource Locator) optimization and similarity determination are added to each module's characteristics, so that the vulnerabilities can be scanned more accurately and quickly. In our study, we have adopted Support Vector Machine (SVM) for stock market forecasting due to its capacity to deal with risk. The usage of a continuous piece of string allows for the design process to explore different methods of achieving comprehensible images in the form of string art. With different computational tools and design techniques, it becomes possible to explore design thinking coupled with automated fabrication. In this paper, the emphasis is placed on generating a large scale string art pieces out of smaller tiles, that can be used as wall art.
