This work aims to identify the latest progress, techniques and/or models implemented to improve the information quality in the information retrieval process, as well as the defined metrics to evaluate the quality of the content;therefore, a review of research work carried out in the last five years is presented, in the analysis carried out it was shown that 44% of the retrieval systems focus on improving the indexation of the documents allowing better accessibility, which leads to optimal growth at the time of extraction, the other 66% points to the quality of the response of the queries;as a result, it was found that the common factors that affect quality when searching, retrieving and representing the information available to the user, among which are user satisfaction, the quality of the classification and the quality of the text itself.

Data Science demand from Medical Affairs (MA) functions in the pharmaceutical industry are exponentially increasing, where business cases around more modern execution of activities and strategic planning are becoming a reality. MA is still lagging in terms of implementing data science and big data technology in the current times, which means a reflecting immaturity of capabilities and processes to implement these technologies better. This paper aims to identify possible gaps in the literature and define a starting point to better understand the application of Data Science for pharmaceutical MA departments through the identification and synthesis of data science criteria used in MA case studies as presented in the scientific literature. We applied a Systematic Literature Review of studies published up to (and including) 2017 through a database search and backward and forward snowballing. In total, we evaluated 2247 papers, of which 11 included specific data science methodologies criteria used in medical affairs departments. It was also made a quantitative analysis based on data from a questionnaire applied to Takeda, a Pharma organization. The findings indicate that there is good evidence in the empirical relation between Data Technostructure and Data Management dimensions of the Data Science strategy of the organization.

A successful example of a modern school digital laboratory in the field of biophysics and neurotechnologies is the domestic joint development of the DIY kit by BiTronics Lab Company and Laboratory of applied cybernetic systems MIPT. The target audience of consumers of educational neurotechnologies is indicated: schoolchildren, students, specialists of related professions. The results of the implementation of neurotechnologies in the social environment - primary school children - have been studied. A linear regression equation was constructed, which characterizes the dependence of the involved schoolchildren in the work on the study of neurotechnologies from the amount budgetary funds and number of events taken to familiarize with neurotechnologies.

Reconstruction of gene regulatory network is a very pertinent problem to computational biologist. GRN is crucial to understand the internal functions of a cell. The reconstruction of GRN is based on DNA-microarray time series gene expression data. This provides an insight that can be applied to drug development for a disease. Here, recurrent neural network (RNN) is used to model the GRN. The aim is to find the optimal parameter set for RNN which belongs to NP-Hard class. To search the optimal parameter set of RNN, amodified version of differential evolution algorithm, namely, nearest neighbor-based differential evolution (NNDE_RNN) has been proposed here and has been implemented on two real-life gene expression datasets. The final optimum parameter set of RNN obtained from the experiment is used to design the gene regulatory network of our interest. The inferred GRN has been analyzed on the basis of three performance metrics. It is observed that in many performance metrics, the proposed algorithm outperformed the state-of-the-art algorithms.

When it comes to any problem, their causes, and solutions, people often have very different perspectives. Agreeing on the same course of action can sometimes be difficult. A causal map is a way to capture different perspectives people have about any situation. In this paper, we study the use of conversational artificial intelligence to capture and store the thought process of a particular problem. Our experiments consisted of developing a model for a voice-activated personal assistant (Alexa) that interacts, captures, and converts the responses of the participants into causal maps. Next, a detailed pre-test and post-test questionnaire that focuses on assessing interactions and willingness of the participants to collaborate with the developed model was conducted. Our results show that we were able to build an Alexa skill that could successfully capture participants thought process and transform it into a causal map that could be analyzed along with data from other participants.

Pancreatic tumour is one of the deadliest diseases, which is the fourth leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Detecting pancreatic cancer at an early stage may increase the life of the patients. Pancreatic tumour segmentation is one of the difficult challenges in medical field. Accurate and Efficient segmentation in medical images are emerging as a challenging task during radiotherapy planning. Various medical modalities like MRI, CT and PET are widely used for diagnosing the abnormalities present in the medical images. Image segmentation plays an important part for the exact detection of the tumour in diagnosing, detecting, treatment and planning. In this review paper, various algorithms are used for segmenting the pancreatic tumour in medical images were discussed.

Recently, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) has been used in variety of domains, including fashion classification. Social media, e-commerce, and criminal law are extensively applicable in this field. CNNs are efficient to train and found to give the most accurate results in solving real world problems. In this paper, we use Fashion MNIST dataset for evaluating the performance of convolutional neural network based deep learning architectures. We compare most common deep learning architectures such as AlexNet, GoogleNet, VGG, ResNet, DenseNet and SqueezeNet to find the best performance. We additionally propose a simple modification to the architecture to improve and accelerate learning process. We report accuracy measurements (93.43%) and the value of loss function (0.19) using our proposed method and show its significant improvements over other architectures.

The blind-assistive devices promote the detection of objects and alerting the user by a buzzer or an alarm. In this project, a camera is placed inside a cap which is used by the visually impaired person. The machine-learning algorithm is used for accurate detection of the object and provides an alarm. The ultrasonic sensor is used to measure the distance between the visually impaired person and the real-time object detected when the object is detected the alarm is actuated. Nowadays, the assistive devices include the involvement of both hardware and software section to assist the blind user. The proposed method for the visually impaired person aims to detect the object more accurately so that the visually impaired person can navigate to their full potential in real-time application.

Training in the US Army starts with the individual. Soldiers work on acquiring skills, knowledge, and attributes in order to perform tasks to support operational requirements. Feedback is provided through After-Action Reviews (AARs) to support training and improve future operations. A main difficulty for developing effective training for manned-unmanned teams (MUM-T) is that AARs with human-agent teams are yet to be developed. While AAR processes for human teams are well trained in the Army, the current methods for delivering an AAR do not account for unmanned systems that are integrated in collective tasks. The US Army's Robotic Wingman program provides a use case for discussing potential technology solutions that can support critical human factors for MUM-T during a gunnery collective task. Understanding the capabilities and limitations of an unmanned platform will help develop effective training plans and performance measures for the unmanned asset which is now part of the team.

The paper presents a brief survey on the underwater acoustic communication channel estimation of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing using deep learning techniques. In recent times, deep learning has shown great potential in the field of communication. The underwater acoustic channel is a highly challenging system as it has a restricted bandwidth, enlarged multi-path, medium refractive characteristics, acute fading, rapid time variation, large Doppler shifts, etc. For the UWA-OFDM communication model, DL-based receivers can be elucidated as a deep neural network for a better estimation than the conventional techniques. Sufficient training is required for the recovery of the transmitted symbols. It does not require any explicit CE or equalization and balancing. The estimation is accomplished in two stages. The first one is training stage. For training, this deep neural network-transmitted data, the signal received in the unknown channel, etc., are used as labeled data. The second one is test stage, where the deep neural network receiver recovers transmitted symbols, given the received signal. The accuracy and the computational complexity, these two have been a great challenge for the underwater acoustic channel estimation with the existing traditional channel estimation methods. The deep learning method is useful to solve these problems. This survey is to find out a few optimum methods of deep learning to estimate the UWA channel in an efficient way.
