Health has become a major concern nowadays. People pass significant amount of time of daily life on walking, moving here and there and so on. Some health complexity happens during walking like heart problem, stroke etc. Stroke patient has unbalanced gait pattern compared to normal person. The Internet of Things (IoT) plays an important role in the development of connected people, which offers cloud connectivity, smartphone integration, safety, security, and healthcare services. Insole Foot Pressure sensor and accelerometer will be attached to the foot for gait speed, foot pressure and other gait pattern. Gait parameters of 68 Stroke patients and 208 Elderly healthy persons have been gathered in Chungnam National University Hospital Rehabilitation Center, Daejeon, South Korea. Gait parameters are foot pressure, gait acceleration etc. Dynafoot2 Insole sensor used for data acquisition. Subjects walked and perform activities like walking, sitting, standing, doing some regular activities during gait data acquisition. Area under curve (AUC) of performance curve for C4.5, SVM, Random Tree, Logistic Regression, LSVM, CART algorithms are 0.98, 0.976, 0.935, 0.909 and 0.906, 0.87 respectively. A gait monitoring system has been proposed for stroke onset prediction for stroke patient. IoT sensors are used to gather gait data and machine learning algorithms are used to classify gait pattern of stroke patient group and normal healthy group. In future, sensors such as EEG, EMG will be used to improve system reliability.

Traffic sign recognition is very important in the intelligent driving. It can remind drivers to react properly to the road condition and increase the driving safety. One of the challenges in recognizing traffic sign is occlusion. In this paper, we focus on this problem particularly in Taipei and the vicinity including Taipei and New Taipei City. We propose a convolution neural network equipped with the regional masks to solve the occlusion traffic sign recognition. Traffic sign images of Taipei and New Taipei City are collected mainly from Google Maps for training and testing. Finally, the proposed method is tested both on our own dataset and German public dataset GTSRB. The experimental results demonstrated the occlusion problem is being greatly alleviated and the result is very promising.

Cyber SA is described as the current and predictive knowledge of cyberspace in relation to the Network, Missions and Threats across friendly, neutral and adversary forces. While this model provides a good high-level understanding of Cyber SA, it does not contain actionable information to help inform the development of capabilities to improve SA. In this paper, we present a systematic, human-centered process that uses a card sort methodology to understand and conceptualize Senior Leader Cyber SA requirements. From the data collected, we were able to build a hierarchy of high- and low- priority Cyber SA information, as well as uncover items that represent high levels of disagreement with and across organizations. The findings of this study serve as a first step in developing a better understanding of what Cyber SA means to Senior Leaders, and can inform the development of future capabilities to improve their SA and Mission Performance.

Facilitating human learning is one of the uses of virtual reality (VR). Users interact within original and dynamic situations of learning in an integrated learning environment called Virtual Reality Learning Environment (VRLE). Nevertheless, the design of these environments is still considered as a complex task. We intend to study and propose technical and methodological solutions to help teachers to design (adapt or reuse) their pedagogical situation with a scenario-based approach and to operationalize it in a VR learning environment. In this work, we defined a design process allowing teachers to generate their VRLE. Then, we instantiated the proposed design process with a pedagogical situation as an illustrated example.

In Peru, tourism has had an average annual growth of 5% in the last 5 years, however, the Huancavelica region has had an average reduction of 2% per year. Castrovirreyna, one of its districts, has 300 monthly arrivals on average, while other locations with lower HDI (Human Development Index), more tourism resources and higher per capita income, have at least twice as many arrivals. This wastage contributes to the degradation and oblivion of the potential tourist attractions and culture of the district. This research seeks local progress from the development of innovation and professionalization of enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs, with the proposal of guidelines for tourism use. To achieve this purpose, it is proposed the implementation of an Associative Ecotourism Model that manages to link the important agents of this local economy to develop innovative, collaborative and sustainable tourism products, services, packages and projects.

An Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is used on the Noncommutative Cryptographic (NCC) principles. The security and strengths of the manuscript are resilient on these two cryptographic assumptions. The claims on the Noncommutative cryptographic scheme on monomials generated elements is considered be based on hidden subgroup or subfield problems that strengthen this manuscript, where original assumptions are hidden and its equivalents semiring takes part in the computation process. In relation to the same, the research gap is well designed on Dihedral orders of 6 and 8, but our contributions are in security- and length-based attacks enhancement over Dihedral order 12, reported in work done. We modeled the said strategies and represent the ideal security concerns for applications.

The paper shows that today a worker can be considered as an integral part of the "human-machine" system in case of using modern diagnostic equipment. Therefore, in order to ensure the effectiveness of diagnosing vehicle systems, it is necessary to use engineering psychology methods at the stage of equipment design. Traditionally, the description of "human-machine" systems functioning is implemented in the form of an algorithm. Thereat, coefficients of stereotyped and logical complexity act as the criteria of the algorithm rationality. However, at the design stage, it is necessary to estimate the parameters at the preliminary stages, when the algorithm is not finally formulated;therefore, the situation of lack of initial data occurs. The paper considers the possibility of using the fuzzy logic apparatus to overcome this problem. The data determined with implementation of real diagnostic algorithms are used as initial data. The authors elaborated models for estimating the parameters of logical complexity and stereotype that give an error of no more than 10%. Based on fuzzy logic, the model was created that enables formulating recommendations for ensuring a given level of compatibility of the elements of the "human-machine" system when designing diagnostic equipment of transport enterprises.

The paper deals with a transportation network protection problem. The aim is to limit losses due to disasters by choosing an optimal retrofiting plan. The mathematical model given by Lu, Gupte, Huang [11] is a mixed integer non linear optimization problem. Existing solution methods are complicated and their computing time is long. Hence, it is necessary to develop efficient solution methods for the considered model. Our approach is based on DC (difference of two convex functions) programming and DC algorithm (DCA). The original model is first reformulated as a DC program by using exact penalty techniques. We then apply DCA to solve the resulting problem. Numerical results on a small network are reported to see the behavior of DCA. It shows that DCA is fast and the proposed approach is promissing.

Plant leaf classification plays a foremost role in botanical research, Ayurveda, agriculture practices, medicine and drug, weed detection, and many more areas. It is a technique by which a plant leaf is categorized based on its different morphological structures. The aim of this paper is to offer a deep learning technique for plant leaf classification with the help of deep Convolutional Neural Network as a substitute of conventional classification methods like k-nearest neighbor, probabilistic neural network, support vector machine, genetic algorithm, and principal component analysis, which all need feature extraction and are time-consuming. CNN has been used since it has outperformed in various image recognition challenges and feature extraction is performed automatically, which takes less time. This work uses a 5000 leaf images of two plant species. 4000 images are used for training and 1000 for testing purpose. CNN is trained in such a way that it can classify the species and predict the class for a new leaf image. The proposed model is run for different epochs and results were recorded. It was observed that the CNN model performed effectively in distinguishing the plant leaf images and achieved 99.96% training accuracy and 99.90% testing accuracy.

Thanks to the large amount of IoT device available on the market today and the software tools provided by the IBM Cloud ecosystem we are able to deploy real and intelligent monitoring in a home at low cost.
