Growing amount of electronic waste worldwide is becoming a pressing issue. Since printed circuitry boards are constructed to be robust and durable, recycling them is difficult in the process. Therefore, it would be preferable to turn to transient or biodegradable materials in electronics. The following paper describes the development of transient, resistive, screen printing paste based on carbon nanotubes. Pastes used to print samples were prepared in several steps including dispersion of carbon nanotubes in water, preparing methylcellulose resin and stirring the two components together to fabricate a desired paste compositions. Different compositions were printed and their properties are compared. Eventually the best composition was used for electrodes to acquire the electrocardiogram.

Frequent item set mining is a very popular method in data mining and is used extensively to find out the most recurring items in mainly market basket analysis. It is commonly used for association rule learning. The market basket analysis is seen to be used in many fields like Web mining and intrusion detection. There are many algorithms like Apriori algorithm, etc., to find out the frequent items in given data but these are more of a sequential approach and take huge amounts of time for large sets of data. Existing Soft computing-based approaches for solving frequent item set mining like genetic algorithm and fuzzy logic systems are proven to reduce execution time but not in a scale in which a massively parallel system does. So the main objective of this paper is to accelerate frequent item set mining process using GPU's CUDA architecture. We have also performed a comparative study with parallel version of frequent item set mining using openMP. Our results show speedup of 2.2 for CUDA over serial implemented using genetic algorithm and 1.8 for CUDA over OpenMP.

Fibonacci numbers and their applications are actively used in various fields of mathematics, computer technologies and informatics, economics and biology. The article describes author's results of studying extended versions of the Fibonacci sequence in form of additive sequences of 2(n)-dimensional hyperbolic numbers having Fibonacci coordinates. Special attention is paid to matrix representation of hyperbolic numbers. Some applications of new additive sequences are shown including phyllotaxis laws of morphogenesis and the main psychophysical Weber-Fechner law. An important role of hyperbolic numbers in modelling natural phenomena is noted.

Today, the online market is showing an increasing growth. Considering the online market is dependent on the visual aspect on screen, the appearance is more influential to the consumer than any other design elements. With a global connection of online market, it is possible to buy a product across different countries. However, considering the different characteristics of consumers, it may not be ideal to sell products in one form. Therefore, the study aims to identify what form is most preferred and how consumer characteristics are related to the preference. First, types of form were defined for the study: stereotypical form, pure metaphorical form and story-driven metaphorical form. An online experimental tool, called paired comparison was developed. Through a mechanical Turk platform, we recruited 177 respondents: 50 from Germany, 50 from the United States, and 77 from South Korea. The results indicate context-driven metaphorical form was most preferred. And no significant difference was identified between three types of form in terms of demographical variables such as age and gender.

Dialogue systems or conversational systems including chatbots, voice control interfaces and personal assistants are examples of HCI application that have been developed to interact with users using natural language. Chatbots can help customers find useful information for their needs. Thus, numerous organizations are using chatbots to automate their customer service. Thus, the needs for using artificial intelligence has been increasing due to the needs of automated services. However, devolving smart bots that can respond at the human level is challenging. In this paper, we survey the state-of-art chatbot approaches from based on the ability to generate appropriate responses perspective. After summarizing the review from this aspect, we identify the research issues and challenges in chatbots. The findings of this research will highlight directions for future work.

In this digital era, the wide-range implementation of digital authentication techniques has not only impacted the home security systems but also in difference facets of industries. The ever-growing facial recognition technology is now dominated by the digital authentication system with a steady increase in the sophistication of the real time image processing operations, which is more accurate and reliable. The system is more secured by implementing facial recognition as a primary security feature for observing a person in a 3D perspective. In recent times, digital authentication system aims to recognize individuals, payment confirmation, criminal identification etc. In this research work, we have worked with a type of facial recognition system, which is based on "Open-CV" model. Open-CV is a library that is built by intel in 1999. It is a cross platform library, primarily built to work on real time image processing systems, which includes the state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms. The system that we have built can achieve an accuracy of about 85-90% accuracy based on the lighting condition and camera resolution. Based on the database, this system is built by taking still images of the subject, then it trains a model and creates deep neural networks and then for detection it matches the subject in real time and give results based on the match. The system that we have built is quite simple, robust and easy to implement, where it can be used in multiple places for a vast application.

In Austria, the demand for well-educated academic graduates has risen steadily. Especially in the informatics sector and especially in the area of Vienna, more and more companies are looking for potential employees. In order to address this problem, in 2017 we started a work-integrated (so-called dual) computer science education at the Bachelor's level at the University of Applied Sciences (UAS) Technikum Wien. We conducted a scientific evaluation with implementing students' surveys, personal interviews, and group discussions with companies. We explain the results of the evaluation in detail and show concrete measures for improvement which will be implemented within the next years.
