E-learning has gained tremendous popularity. In recent decades, major universities all over the world offer online courses aiming to support student learning performance, yet often exhibit low completion rates. Faced with the challenge of decreasing learners' dropout rates, e-learning communities are increasingly in need to improve trainings. Machine learning and data analysis have emerged as powerful methods to analyze educational data. They can therefore empower the Technology Enhanced Learning Environments (TELEs). Many research projects have interest in understanding dropout factors related to learners, but few works are committed to refine pedagogical content quality. To address this problem, this paper proposes descriptive statistics analysis to evaluate e-course factors contributing to its success. We take up, at first, the task of analyzing a sample of successful online courses. Then, we manage to identify features that are able to attract a large number of learners, meet their needs and improve their satisfaction. We report findings of an exploratory study that investigates the relationship between course success and the strategy of pedagogical content creation.

This study aimed to examine the effect of corporate social responsibility and environmental cost on financial performance. The companies studied included 117 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2016-2018. Researchers determined these samples using purposive sampling with some criteria. The data analysis comprised of regression analysis. The results showed that corporate social responsibility positively impacts financial performance, while environmental cost negatively impacts financial performance.

Mastering skills of spatial orientation is a very important issue for the blind people. However, there are widely available or dedicated systems that support independent movement of them, i.e. the solutions based on GPS-navigation or the use of ultrasonic sonars or cameras, there is the lack of approaches that supports learning of spatial orientation in a smart way by helping blind people with recognition of real objects or assisting them with moving along unknown routes. To make a step forward to fulfill this gap, we propose an approach based on Object Map Ontology and binaural sounds. It allows us to describe unknown objects on the street and shows a new path for the blind user. The core of this proposal is a special ontology that stores knowledge about different objects that can be found in the city and set of binaural sounds that are integrated with these objects. The route that is a sequence of objects taken from the ontology is translated into a series of binaural sounds and auxiliary text descriptions. The preliminary studies have confirmed that blind users such as students but also adults are interested in developing such a solution. Investigations showed that the proposed system would be even useful for sighted trainers who teach spatial orientation. The initial Object Map Ontology that covers an exemplary root was created and expressed as a set of OWL classes, relations, and individuals. The preliminary sound classification was created and a couple of binaural sounds was recorded.

The chapter is devoted to the project and implementation of Internet application designed to allow communication between its users. The application is based on the REST API software architecture pattern, communication between the backend application and frontend applications is achieved with help of the JSON data format. The first part describes used technologies as well as programming environment preparation. The core part is the description of development of the application backend project which is created in *** Core framework accompanied by Entity Framework Core, MySQL, and other commonly used and readily available technologies. The subsequent sections are focused on the frontend applications. The mobile application project is realized in the Flutter SDK, while the web application project is developed in Angular framework. Implementation of the REST API allows the frontend applications to send and fetch data to the backend server. The fetched data is displayed in the application' interface to allow users' interaction.

In today's modern age, it is almost impossible to exist without the Information Communication Technologies that makes our life easier. In addition to other areas, Information Communication Technologies is also needed in education. There are a number of ways to contribute to the development of the learning process, which we refer to in this article - student centric model, gamification, virtual and augmented reality (using Gear VR), remote and virtual labs. We will also discuss the educational application focused on the basics of geographical knowledge of Slovakia.

Knowledge conversion still becomes a concern of many researchers because of the effects on performance. Various studies have tried to explore the underlying factors, but not many of them used the perspective of intrinsic motivation based on Islamic values as an approach. Thus, this paper offers a new concept as a cornerstone to improve knowledge creation. Islamic intrinsic motivation is the result of a synthesis of the manifest needs theory and Islamic values. This concept arises because of the many individualist phenomena and ignoring religious values in the work process. Thus, enthusiasm is needed to do the best and improve continuously while voluntary asking and helping team members. Islamic intrinsic motivation is expected to be able to improve knowledge creation which has an impact on the exploration of tacit knowledge in each individual. In the long term, mastering unique knowledge in a team will improve the sales team performance.

This paper presents a research on the criteria of students' satisfaction and their expectations from the study in the field of informatics and computing education. Constant changes and evolving environment in these STEM fields create various challenges and require continuous institutional adaptation and growth, as well as listening and monitoring students' expectations. Authors conducted a quantitative research on all three years of bachelor study program in informatics, at the end of academic year 2018/2019. Students' attitudes regarding their satisfaction and expectations were tested using an anonymous survey. The survey tested students' opinions on the influence of the chosen criteria on overall satisfaction with the study. Special attention was paid to differences in the expectations between study years and differences in the expectations regarding students' gender. The main contributions of this paper are: a) a defined set of satisfaction criteria, b) insight into students' expectations from the study, c) influence of students' academic maturity on their expectations from the study and d) gender differences in students' expectations from the study.

Consciousness is the basis for granting moral status, but it is ephemeral and elusive. Both the ontological and epistemic dimension of consciousness cause hard problems for modern science and the philosophy of mind. On the one hand, consciousness is subjective, and includes conscious states with a phenomenal or qualitative character - "qualia". It consists of mental states which are accessible to a subject only from the first-person perspective. A being is phenomenally conscious when there is something that is like to be that being. Utilitarianism uses the hedonistic strategy of the moral status, ascribing to that the demand for us to treat sentience as the fundamental property for obtaining moral status. Sentience is not the simple reactivity to stimuli, but it is the basic kind of phenomenal consciousness available only from the inside. Interpreting the behaviour of animals, we usually apply to them the intentional stance which induces us to consider animals as if they were rational agents with beliefs and desires. We fill animal minds with the content which we have in our own minds. We project onto animals our own mental world. When we do that we apply the rationalist strategy of moral status granting, assuming that animals are like us and according to their knowledge of the world they pursue their desires in a less or more intelligent way. Stressing the great importance to consciousness as the basis of moral status is, in fact, burdened with anthropomorphism.

This research on the topic of STEM teachers' professional skills for structuring and developing supportive learning environments in order to implement National Curricula (NC) in schools, vocational schools and study programs at student hobby centres is a pilot study based on the need to use existing resources more rationally to advance students' achievement. The research question posed in this study was 'What is STEM teachers' understanding of supportive learning environments in schools and hobby centres and opportunities for their design and development?' The data collected and analysed (n = 31) in 2020 enable us to examine the development of teachers' professional abilities and creativity at structuring and designing supportive environments for learning STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) subjects. intelligently designed and constructed environments specific to the subject support and promote learning, lead to higher academic achievement, and contribute to students' self-esteem. The pilot study also provides information about teachers' professional approaches, actual school environments and areas for improvement. The analysis of the data is accompanied by recommendations for teacher training in the design of environments appropriate to different types of educational institutions. The current turbulent times require increasingly broad competencies and creativity on the part of teachers for making STEM education socially meaningful, and the implementation of curricula and study programs more cost-effective.

The paper presents the results demonstrating the distinguishing features of interconnections between self-concept and the specifics of activity of polytechnic college students in social media. The distinctions of college students' self-concept were investigated. The marked components in the self-concept framework include "Active Self' and "Reflective Self', which is due to the strive of young people to understand their position and purpose in this world and because their perception of themselves as being unique and having their own potential is actualized. The paper considers the gender specifics of the self-concept framework, which shows a trend towards polarizing the self-image based on the traditional gender norms of young people at this age. It is shown that self-concept plays an important role in determining the activity pattern in social media. It has been established that such components of self-concept as "Material Self', "Communicative Self', and "Prospective Self' mediate realization of the need to communicate and expand social experience through social networks.
