Digital media is evolving and challenging the implementation of corporate communication strategies which ceaselessly look for new tactics for customer acquisition and retention. In this domain, the present study assesses the importance of design in the digitalization of discount social coupons. It focuses on the analysis of the tactics used to increase attractiveness to customers, through an analysis from the point of view of the consumer and the marketeer responsible. The research follows the Design-based Research methodology that requires consequent redesign the artefact proposal - social coupon. Thus, the research is divided in 4 main phases. Data are collected through the inquiries by online questionnaires and interviews, and in a focus group session. The framework created and the evaluation of nine drawn coupon's proposal shows that consumers have a strong preference for warm colors, rounded shapes, and non-serif fonts. The findings of this research show that marketeers should clarify their tactics and adapt its digitalization to consumers' preferences. This study can complement previous studies based on the effectiveness of the digitalization of promotional tactics through social coupons. These ones are useful to the companies to understand how to increase consumer's interest.

Entrepreneurship Education is an important field of entrepreneurship research and has become a part of many programs of business and engineering schools. Research also confirms that a new generation of learners, the generation of millennials, has emerged that shows a preference for interactive and experiential learning. Contemporary entrepreneurship education follows this approach by including a set of practices where students can explore concepts through personal experience. Educational games are a powerful tool to create such a learning environment. With the goal of investigating digitalization of business games, which are typically played in large groups and face to face, we particularly focus on the use case of the business model game called "inspire! build your business". We give an overview on relevant comparable games, report on our approach for digitalization focusing on our use case, and we address the following research questions: How can the currently implemented game mechanics be improved and what needs to be considered when implementing a fully digital version of the game? We adopt an engineering-based approach, where we build an application for being tested in a heuristic evaluation. The results of our analysis provide motivation to continue the digitalization of our business model game.

In this paper, we propose a model for semantic-based image retrieval (SBIR) on the clustering balanced tree, C-Tree, and ontology to analyze the semantics of an image and extract a similar set of images, in which the input is a query image. This structure is constructed rely on separating the nodes from the leaf node and growing towards the root to create a balanced tree. A set of similar images are searched on the C-Tree to classify the query image based on the k-NN (k-Nearest Neighbor) algorithm. Then, the SPARQL query is generated to query the semantics of the image on ontology. We experimented with image datasets such as COREL (1000 images), Wang (10,800 images), ImageCLEF (20,000 images). The results are compared and evaluated with the relevant projects published recently on the same datasets.

The use of digital games to support learning (game-based learning) through an alternative, more attractive way is rapidly growing in both European and worldwide educational sector. Digital games are a rapidly developing field, as they are amongst the most popular technologies that young people use for their entertainment. Within this framework, project "Lexipaignio" was initiated in order to develop an innovative and state-of-the-art NLP (Natural Language Processing) environment for the creation of digital educational games for Greek students. These games will be dynamically generated by the educator for his/her students, in order to improve various vocabulary and linguistic skills, while understanding the context of specific school subject areas. In this paper we present the NLP environment for the subject of Geography.

Teaching computer programming has changed a lot during the last 15 years. Instead of visiting lectures, reading books, documentation and manuals, solving individual programming tasks, etc., students prefer to "find" solutions to all problems in Google, StackOverflow and similar forums, You-Tube videos and other helpful tools. It could be enjoyed, if there were no negative side effects: programs are created without proper understanding using "copy and paste" from different sources and brute force hacks to comply them to the tests. Often these internet resources are incomplete, contain errors and do not fit to solve the given problem. This article covers some techniques used by the author in the following areas: 1. Choice of assignments - full scale projects vs. small (but meaningful and complex enough) exercises. 2. Using version control to track students' progress. 3. Using learning environments, e.g. Moodle. 4. Role of automated tests. 5. Cheating issues. 6. Providing enough feedback to massive amount of homework. 7. Using "flipped classroom" and "work in pairs" approaches. Daily teaching in a rapidly changing environment necessitates constant updating of teaching methods using peer experience, continuous student feedback, professional publications and common sense. Author has tried "flipped classroom" and "work in pairs" approaches combined with automated assessment and version control for a medium level programming course ("Algorithms and Data Structures"). The results were impressive - dropout decreased from 54% to 17% in two years.

The article describes the experience of the department in organizing practical training at the base enterprise. The functions of the base enterprise and its role in the training of future specialists are determined. Training methods that activate the cognitive activity of students during practice are considered. The results of the questionnaire after internship showed that students are satisfied with the chosen profession, the level of competency formation has increased.

Context: The work shows the alignment of virtual environment to the needs of the industrial revolution of level 4. Purpose or Goal: The work insists on the qualities that remote experiment offers for the global engineer creation and on the skills for hiring and rapid adaptation to the industry needs. Approach: In the university environment the remote experiment plays a decisive role in facilitating e-learning development for specialties that cannot exist without an experimental-applying part. Remote experiment must to satisfy both the needs of evolution in education and those from the industry (i.e. globalization, digitalization, socio-economic world). It is noted the emergence of new skills namely: "Cognitive flexibility" and "Emotional intelligence". After us, the most important trend, derived from the application of remote experiment and its use is "acceptance of failure". Until recently, the failure was penalized with bad marks. Acceptance is defined as a succession of failures by whose gradual removal, the amount of accumulated knowledge increases. It was concluded that failure is an important part of the road to innovation and creativity. Actual or Anticipated Outcomes: Technology progresses exponentially and the society linear. Over time, it can create a gap between technology and society. It was found from practice that the remote experiment is much more connected to the needs of industry than classical laboratories. Conclusions/Recommendations: Remote experiments can create skills and competencies faster than those achieved through classical learning systems for immediate necessity in industry.

Public transport represents an important traffic flow in many countries and urban traffic management has to face this situation. Chile is not an exception, particularly in the case of the most populated cities. To deal with this scenario, a simulation model has been built for a study case in a Chilean city to demonstrate how the problem can be approached. This case shows a serious conflict of public and private transport vehicles. These conflicts generate longer travel times between homes, work or study, higher vehicles operating costs and environmental impacts. The objective of the study is to propose a simulation model to produce and evaluate action plans to reduce traffic jam and the generated conflicts. The VISSIMTM computational micro-simulation programme is used. The model simulates intersections where conflicts occur and it applies urban traffic management for an efficient use of roads. This computational micro-simulator uses a vehicle tracking model and lane change model plus other models that have been incorporated into this work. For the collection of information, field data were obtained such as vehicular flows, traffic light programming, speeds and measurement of queue lengths. Two models were simulated, where the best of them manages to mitigate the congestion problem and suggests changing the traffic, programming the traffic light from 120 s to 90 s and propose the use of a type short bus tracks for public transport. This result positively influence in speeds and queues, at 14% 18% respectively. Eventhough, the developed model solves a particular case, it can be tailored to other situations.

Exposure Therapy using Virtual Reality has been indicated as one of the most promising therapeutic approaches in the treatment of Acrophobia, because Virtual Reality generates exposure conditions systematic controlled and customized desensitization of the individual concerning the phobic incitement and the impulsive responses related to it, potentiating the emotional self-regulated competence and the incorporated cognitive restructuration. This quasi-experimental study had the purpose to analyze the impact of an exposure therapy program using Virtual Reality in the reduction of fear of heights on a sample of the Portuguese population. In this study participated 19 people with and without fear of heights, being distributed by the experimental and control groups. The program was composed of 8 sessions distributed biweekly, corresponding to a total program duration of 4 weeks. The impact of the program was analyzed through the administration of anxiety and acrophobia level assessment instruments and operationalization of psychophysiological procedures, focused on the biofeedback principles, before and after the intervention. The results from both self-report and psychophysiological data revealed a significant reduction in fear of heights in the participants exposed to the exposure therapy program, showing a positive impact of this protocol on the treatment of Acrophobia.

This paper describes on the education program that we have developed for colleges of technology in Japan. The college of technology in Japan is Japan's unique educational system that aims at high-school and college-age students. The five-year consistent education system specializing in engineering has garnered attention under the name of KOSEN from Asian nations. Thus, this paper assumes the second-grade students at our college of technology to be students who have not been introduced to PBL yet. The group activity-based PBL (Project Based Learning) process requires the ability to express one's own ideas to others (communication skill), the ability to abstract problems and develop one's thoughts (computational thinking skill), and the ability to move ahead with tasks in a planned manner (project management skill). Therefore, targeting these students, this study examines whether digital storytelling practice is feasible as an education program that broadens the above mentioned three skills. It is required in digital storytelling to condense one's thoughts and present them as digital contents. We think that the affinity is strong between digital storytelling and PBL, as the processes that learners experience through digital storytelling activities are similar to learners' experience in the processes of the PBL program that is based on our engineering design process. According to a questionnaire survey conducted after the class, our education program received positive feedback from 90% of the students who took the course.
