Energy saving is one of the important directions in the development of modern technology and energy. The article presents thermal calculation of a building with low energy consumption based on the architectural concept, which was developed earlier. At the same time calculation, can be executed for any terrain and any climatic zone in case of its known climatological data. There are three basic approaches to increase the energy efficiency of modern buildings: level increase of the walling insulation;increasing the efficiency of heating control, ventilation, lighting, air conditioning;the use of renewable energy sources. The maximum effect of power outage savings can be purchased only with the full analysis of space-planning, engineering and design solutions.

Rapidly developing Autonomous Vehicle (AV) technology has potential to provide solutions to some of the aging population challenges, such as social isolation resulting from an inability to be independently mobile. However for AVs success, users' acceptance is essential. Fifteen participants (M 70 years) participated in an autonomous driving simulator trial with voice-based CAV status feedback in a decision-making scenario - whether to pick up a friend on the way. The within-subject conditions/journeys were: Audio feedback (Audio)/Pick-Up;Audio/No-Pick-Up;No-Audio/Pick-Up. Additionally, the effect of feedback during different external journey conditions was also considered, resulting in two between-subjects conditions - day and night travel. Participants physiological, cognitive and affective measures show greater situational awareness and workload ratings in the No-Audio/Pick-Up condition with increased Post-trial trust rating and overall higher positive affect. These results indicate that the greatest concentration was required in the no-sound condition, suggesting that sound/multimodal feedback improved ease of operation and journey experience.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of playing surface on physiological responses and performance variables of hockey players. Astroturf, also known as synthetic grass, increases the physiological demand of the game. The game is faster as compared to the game played on grassy field. It may be attributed to the fact that there is a natural difference in the design characteristics of both the courts. The performance of a player depends upon a combination of all the human factors including physical, physiological and biomechanical components of the player. Energy demand of the game is more on Astroturf as compared to the grassy field. Similarly agility of a player to cope with the fast defensive movements and to hold the ball is a deciding factor to escape from getting injured. As the game is fast on astroturf and the player has to depend upon more sprints or in other words more anaerobic components. The present study was conducted on selected national level hockey players of Punjab. The findings of the study indicated the significant differences in terms of physiological components like VO2max, Anaerobic threshold and ATVO2 but no significant difference in the physical characteristics of the player.

This paper describes the design of OTO, a do-it-yourself expansion kit for OPSORO (Open Platform for Social Robots), that enables and facilitates the creation of mobile social robots. The expansion kit consists of modular, adaptable building blocks combined with a software toolkit, and is aimed at applications within the maker community, STEM education, and the market for creative inventor kits. Keeping reproducibility and adaptability in mind, the expansion kit can be produced entirely using digital manufacturing technology and low-cost, offthe-shelf components. Using the building blocks offered by this system, users can easily design, build and customize mobile social robots. The software is designed to address a wide range of users by offering different programming options depending on the user's skill and experience. Inexperienced users are offered a graphical programming environment based on Blockly, whereas more advanced users can program their robot using Lua or Python. The OTO toolkit offers a fun and playful context in which a wide range of STEM-related skills are addressed.

This study explores the influences of different footwear shapes and areas on COF by conducting a four factors experiment including five footwear areas, two footwear shapes, two floors with different roughness, and three floor contaminating conditions and the COFs were measured by English XL. The results demonstrate that the footwear area, footwear shape, floor roughness, and floor contamination condition all affect COF significantly. The COFs of square footwear treads are significantly higher than the cofs of round footwear treads. The relationships between shoe sole area and COF were affected by floor roughness dramatically. The relationships between different shoe sole area and COFs did not show any rules. The lower the floor roughness the lower the COFs with the larger shoe sole area under water and detergent contamination conditions.

In initial teacher education, effective teaching practice is often only available in the 2(nd) year of the MA program after pre-service teachers have completed their (theoretically-oriented) first year. Typically, no prior preparation for the direct exposure to teaching practice is available. A pedagogical experiment was therefore conducted aimed at filling in this gap by engaging students in video-enhanced classroom observation during the first year of their initial teacher education program. This paper lays out the pedagogical experiment and reports on the students' perception of the benefits of classroom observation for the development of their teaching and reflection skills. Overall, the study reveals that preparation for the internship is significantly enhanced by the use of video which allows students to adjust their observation to their own pace and rhythm as well as encourage the joint analysis and discussion within a collaborative learning context.

Agent-based models are a powerful tool for explaining the emergence of social phenomena in a society. In such models, individual agents typically have little cognitive ability. In this paper, we model agents with the cognitive ability to make use of theory of mind. People use this ability to reason explicitly about the beliefs, desires, and goals of others. They also take this ability further, and expect other people to have access to theory of mind as well. To explain the emergence of this higher-order theory of mind, we place agents capable of theory of mind in a particular negotiation game known as Colored Trails, and determine to what extent theory of mind is beneficial to computational agents. Our results show that the use of first-order theory of mind helps agents to offer better trades. We also find that second-order theory of mind allows agents to perform better than first-order colleagues, by taking into account competing offers that other agents may make. Our results suggest that agents experience diminishing returns on orders of theory of mind higher than level two, similar to what is seen in people. These findings corroborate those in more abstract settings.

Since ocular impairment is present in up to 90% of concussed patients, investigation of visual processing can be very helpful for concussion diagnosis. The goal was to determine whether eye-tracking measures can be utilized as a means to test horizontal vestibular ocular reflex in patients with concussion symptoms. Twenty-two participants were recruited and assigned to one of two groups: teens with concussion symptoms group and teens without concussion symptoms group. Concussed participants put on an eye-tracker while doing a horizontal vestibular ocular reflex test. While the non-concussed group was more successful in looking and concentrating on the target point, the concussed group had more undeliberate eye shakings. The variance between the fixation points of the target points was significantly greater in the concussed group in comparison with the non-concussed group. Concussed patients demonstrated more longitudinal and latitudinal deviations. In conclusion, the eye-tracking method is a useful tool to measure the severity of eye movement impairment.

The authors in their contribution present conceptual and methodological background of a research aimed at improving pre-graduate teacher training in the area of didactic technological competences. The main goal of the prepared research is to modernize and optimize relevant parts of study programs of teacher trainees at Slovak higher education institutions, i.e. to optimize inclusion of the relevant subjects into the study programs as to both their content and time allocation. Following this goal, in the first phase of the research there has been prepared a questionnaire survey of the current state and perspectives of the continuing professional development of primary and secondary school teachers contributing to their didactic technological competences improvement and development. In the paper there are summarized main results of the pilot test of the created questionnaire, the purpose of which was to verify the questionnaire reliability. The data gathered in the pilot test were processed and the reliability of the created questionnaire was approved by means of reliability/item analysis. The total reliability of the questionnaire was calculated through the Cronbach alpha coefficient. The obtained results show a high level of the internal consistency of the created research tool and ensure a reliability of the broader research data collection which will follow.
