Home automation system is a technological solution. It is the action of applying technology to solve a problem at home. It uses hardware and software technologies that enables control and management over appliances and devices within a home. In this paper, we have developed a low-cost automated door lock system so users can operate systems from anywhere all over the world with internet access. IoT concept is applied in the system development including integration of software and hardware for communication and execution tasks. By using a WIFI enabled microcontroller and connecting devices and user’s apps via MQTT protocol, a smart door lock using IoT application has successfully built. The door lock is able to lock and unlock remotely. The users do not need to be on the same network to execute the operation and instruction is conducted via voice command or manually operated on dashboard. The users also will receive feedback as verification for the status of the door when execution take place. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The popularity of video recordings either on mobile devices or video surveillance has contributed to the demand for video data applications. As a result, the management of video has become significant in the object retrieval process. Video object retrieval is seen as a major issue in the management of video objects. Object tracking is therefore a significant step in detecting and tracking video objects. Hence, object tracking is a major step, which detects and tracks the video objects using a hybrid model named Nearest Search Algorithm–Nonlinear Autoregressive Exogenous Neural Network. The tracked events are further employed for training, and the recognized events interrelated to the query is processed by proposed Naïve Bayes classifier for retrieving the highly relevant object trajectories and the events associated with it. The performance of the proposed Naïve Bayes classifier is greater when compared with other existing techniques with maximal precision of 81.985%, recall of 85.451%, and F-measure of 86.847%, respectively. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

With recent development in digital technologies, the amount of multimedia statistics is increasing everyday. Abusive video constitutes a hazard to public safety and thus constructive detection algorithms are in urgent need. In order to improve the detection accuracy here, Sentiment analysis-based video classification is proposed. Sentiment analysis-based video classification system is used to classify video content into two different categories, i.e., Abusive videos, nonabusive videos. We are using YouTube comments of a video as source of input, which is analyzed by our sentiment analysis model and the model determines the category to which that particular video belongs. Many techniques such as Bag of Words, Lemmatization, logistic regression and NLP are used. The proposed scheme obtains competitive results on abusive content detection. Use of IRAMUTEQ in the Analysis of Qualitative Data on the Perception About Transfer of Training in the Brazilian Federal District’s Public Sector 1

Transfer of training allows professionals to apply, at work, their developed competencies, aiming at improving services provided to society. Having this in mind, the present article aims at describing the perception of public employees with respect to transfer of training at work in the Brazilian public sector. To this end, a qualitative approach was adopted, based on data collected by an electronic survey with 1,427 public employees who work in public organizations in the Brazilian Federal District and who had participated in some training within a period of up to 12 months before the research. Due to the sample size, support from the IRAMUTEQ tool was used in order to consolidate and analyze data. It was possible to identify three aspects regarding transfer of training in the public context: (i) Restrictions of practical application, due to misalignment between the training that was taken and the reality of the work context;(ii) Absence of difficulty, due to lack of restrictions or time and opportunities to understand the possible limitations of transfer of training;and (iii) Cultural Resistance resulted from lack of openness to change, according to which the dimension of work environment is considered as a factor that restricts transfer. It was possible to identify differences in perceptions about transfer by sex and education profile. At last, the use of Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS), with the IRAMUTEQ tool, was essential to support in yielding results and in the analysis that researchers performed. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Several studies indicate the importance of proper design and of the correct use of ergonomic methodologies to assess and validate them. However, these studies focus on the validation of the methodology and not the process, ranging from the development of proposals to the validation of the process. This study deals with a workstation redesign model covering varied aspects of the process, from design proposals to design validation, by using observational ergonomic techniques such as REBA, RULA, and NIOSH and engineering tools such as a material handling system, methods study, systematic questioning technique, and motion economy. A 44.42% decline in MSDs was achieved in spreading and overlocking jobs and in the roll supply process, as well as a decrease in absenteeism by 849 h, along with savings of PEN 5096 per year.

The handling of big data refers efficient management of processing and storage requirements of very large volume of structured and an unstructured data of association. The basic approach for big data classification using naïve Bayes classifier is extended with correlation among the attributes so that it becomes a dependent hypothesis, and it is named as correlative naïve Bayes classifier (CNB). The optimization algorithms such as cuckoo search and grey wolf optimization are integrated with the correlative naïve Bayes classifier, and significant performance improvement is achieved. This model is called as cuckoo grey wolf correlative naïve Bayes classifier (CGCNB). The further performance improvements are achieved by incorporating fuzzy theory termed as fuzzy correlative naïve Bayes classifier (FCNB) and holoentropy theory termed as Holoentropy correlative naïve Bayes classifier (HCNB), respectively. FCNB and HCNB classifiers are comparatively analyzed with CNB and CGCNB and achieved noticeable performance by analyzing with accuracy, sensitivity and specificity analysis. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

At present, many enterprises at home and abroad have more and more attention to the safety awareness of employees, the fundamental reason is that the level of employees' safety awareness in the enterprise directly affects the production safety of the enterprise. However, some unsafe behaviors still occur from time to time. Furthermore, the hexagon cellular automata model is established to analyze the influence of high, medium or low safety awareness and number of employees on unsafe behaviors. Therefore, this paper proposes to adopt safety management system to strengthen effective internal communication.

In the last decade, studies show that the use of the Internet to access health-related information is rapidly increasing, despite the questionable quality of health information provided on various online sources. Searching for health-related information is often aimed at self-healing or self-improvement of health quality and improving the health quality of other people in our care, such as our children or other family members. Despite the increased use of the Internet to access health information, there is limited research examining how perceived risk and self-efficacy may affect how one perceived the benefits they may obtain from searching health information online, especially among parents in developing countries such as Malaysia. The study shows the significant association between parents' perceived risk and perceived self-efficacy on the benefits of searching for health information online. The data was analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) technique. The study also found a positive association between perceived benefits of seeking health information online and their satisfaction with the information retrieved. The Goodness of Fit (GoF) of the model developed in this study is 0.809, which exceeds the cut-off value of 0.36 and shows that the model performs well. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Concepts contribute to maintaining knowledge and are constantly changing. Several conceptual analysis methods are used to clarify concepts, however, they are better applied for mature concepts. The purpose of this article is to describe a mixed conceptual analysis method developed to analyze the term "gender violence", comparing it with Rodgers’ conceptual analysis method. The developed method started from five substitute terms of "gender violence", and used Knowledge Discovery in Databases to discover patterns between the terms. The terms highlighted in the patterns were validated through content analysis. As a result, twice as many attributes were identified, enabling understanding concepts which are part of gender violence concepts, such as sexual violence, psychological violence and physical violence. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the increasing intelligence and power of machines, an intelligent integration of these machines with people, organizations and the environment becomes ever more crucial. This results in a number of tension fields, for both scientists and practitioner: Being too critical or analytical without sufficient synthesis and constructiveness will slow down technical and societal progress, being not critical enough might be faster in the beginning, but might have an even larger bad effect in the long run. Only a proper, dynamic balance of these approaches can bring real progress. Within the critical and analytical part itself are tension fields as well;e.g. different system qualities or different stakeholders which need to be balanced intelligently by us human systems integrators. This paper therefore discusses the tension fields within the critical and analytical aspect and discusses them with examples from vehicle automation and human autonomy teaming.
