Man has always believed that the natural resources available were unlimited. In particular, in the last century, the extraordinary technological development and the resulting economic development have helped to spread the perception that the availability of products and materials was almost infinite. These were also the years in which the use of plastic proliferated as a "material of the possible" derived, moreover, from a raw material such as oil, available and transportable all over the planet. Today, unfortunately, the unbridled use of plastics leads to negative and out of control environmental consequences. The resulting negative scenario, however gradually accelerating, immediately "obliges" everyone to identify new paths of sustainability, also through a change in the relationship with natural resources and with the environmental heritage. The technological challenge we face, in addition to requiring more efficient transformation processes in terms of consumption, also aims to generate new materials whose mechanical features deteriorate minimally and which can therefore be reused many times. This contribution focuses on the opportunities offered by research on innovative materials. In particular, it deals with bioplastics, obtained from waste and organic waste derived from other productions: for these, research aims to obtain an ever greater reliability, both with respect to physical and mechanical properties and to biodegradability characteristics.

Human actions recognition (HAR) and understanding become very popular topics in the field of computer vision and signal processing. The purpose of human activities recognition is to automatically examine and characterize actions from a video sequence. The main goal of a HAR system is to identify simple actions of everyday life (like walking, running, jumping..) from videos. Each of these actions, performed by one person or many persons within a specific period of time, must be represented by a simple movement model. In recent years, a large number of applications of HAR have been proposed in literature such as video surveillance, human-computer interaction and video indexing. In this line, we present our method for HAR using Mask Region Based CNN, MRCNN. This technique will help us to make the accent on the body of individual and this step facilitates the recognition of the current action. With the mask RCNN we used key frame extraction and background extraction. This framework was tested on two datasets KTH and WEIZMANN datasets and experimental results showed the performance of the proposed technique. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

We can find a massive demand for systems that retrieve video with a query as image or video since the text-based retrieval system (text, images, video) was obsolete and the content-based video retrieval oriented. For many applications, ‘it is essential for retrieving videos from the extensive database with image and video query for content linking and brand monitoring. In this paper, a new video retrieval scheme developed for retrieving videos from an extensive database with a video query. The process uses EBCOT (Embedded Block Coding with Optimization Truncation) coding for feature extraction and MLP (Multilayer Perceptron) for classification and retrieval. The process uses videos with human facial expression as query and related videos with similar facial expression can be retrieved. The process carried out with three phases i)facial expression recognition ii)frame indexing iii)video indexing and retrieving. This methodology does video retrieval process in which video gives as a query for which facial expression has been recognized videos in the database are indexed with the corresponding expression and finally retrieval has been performed thus in this method retrieval scalability has been improved significantly. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Teachers who enter postgraduate training programs in the field of education get prepared for the use of technology to create better conditions for learning. The objective of this work is to identify the potentialities of research and pedagogical training in the use of technologies as a form of professionalization of teachers in Postgraduate Programs in Education. A bibliometric analysis of the degree works reports on the high involvement of postgraduate teaching staff in creative methodological productions, using different technologies to bring children, adolescents and young people closer to learning, but also on the differences in their application in the face of multiple learning needs and knowledge areas. In future degrees, it is necessary to move towards the training of teachers in the applications of artificial intelligence in the educational field.

This paper describes the EOQ Inventory control of production model in partial backlogging which is evaluated through the Inventory-level variation. In this paper, two methods are explained: (i) Inventory different cost with shortage, back order quantity, maximum Inventory, number of order and total cost are found numerically. These parameters are obtained based on the assumption of Inventory carrying cost (m) and the shortage cost (M). (ii) EOQ cost in without shortage. These two methods can be applied to a small company, which includes sales or delivering any category of product;there is no way to stay away from the necessity to hold an Inventory to make sure timely delivery and avoid no-stock conditions. Conversely, holding Inventory does build extra costs for a company. These costs can happen in several ways, based on the features and size of the company. This helps the company Inventory cost reduce to make effective use of the working capital. These parameters of Inventory costs are estimated by Brownian motion. It is observed to be minimized. The computational results are obtained from numerical examples. The results are shown in Brownian motion. This outcomes because of fluctuations. It is incrementing. Consequently, it is points of increases and random walk. Observations over recent studies indicate that most of the methods and algorithms used to deal with clustering problems are based on hybrid metaheuristic and metaheuristic algorithms to rectify the solutions. However, these approaches are restricted by the number of heuristics. Hyperheuristic algorithms are new generation of metaheuristic algorithm that use a collection of low-level search strategies and high-level heuristics which works in heuristic space and solution spaces, while metaheuristic algorithms just work in solution space to find better solutions. The main goal of this research is to propose a hyperheuristic framework for clustering problem which is able to optimize the difference of all data objects of one cluster from their respective cluster centres. The proposed hyperheuristic clustering algorithm has used from pool of meta-heuristic and heuristic approaches and mapping between solution space and heuristic spaces is one of the prevalent and powerful methods in the optimization domains. By mapping the solution spaces into heuristic space, it would be possible to make easy decision to settle data clustering problems. Our suggested hyperheuristic clustering works into three major spaces including high-level space, low-level space and problem space. It is generally observed that billing at shopping stores takes a lot of time, especially during holidays and weekends. A person in India visits a grocery store 1.6 times every 15 days and spends nearly 43 min there. Therefore, it is necessary to have an efficient mechanism, which would help people to shop in smarter way. With this system, we have come up with a solution to the problem of long queues while shopping in a mall or a store. So, our solution uses the concept of Radio Frequency Identification. It is necessary to have RFID tags (transponder) embedded on all the products. So, when the purchased product comes in the range of antenna, the passive tag’s circuit gets activated and sends the prestored data. On the other side, reader (transceiver) will receive these data and send it to the computer. This helps in establishing a very efficient way of billing significantly helping customers save a lot of time. The aim of this solution is to put an end to the long queues we encounter at the shopping centers. The customer has to just drop in his purchases at the RFID zone and head to the billing counters for payment thus establishing a very unique and efficient shopping practice, which is much needed in these modern times. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Detecting faulty condition of rolling-element bearings is significant in improving system reliability and preventing machine failure in industrial operations. In this paper, a machine learning pipeline is developed using filtered data through time domain features to train support vector machines with radial basis function, polynomial and linear kernels for multi-level fault diagnosis and classification. Overall accuracy rate and F-score values were used as figures of merit to evaluate and validate the performance of the machine learning model. SVM classifier showed significantly high overall accuracy rate of 91% to 99% and F-score of 0.81 to 0.99 with time domain statistical features due to the capability of this method in elimination of irrelevant features as well as reducing the dimensionality of the data. In addition, the high accuracy rate of SVMs in class-specific detection of localized bearing faults show the significant potential of data-driven classification modeling for fault detection in industrial and manufacturing operations.

Automation is transforming the human's role in driving situations. Yet, the utopian imaginary of a "vehicle without the human driver" is far away from being a reality. The driver's activity remains poorly understood in a context which tends to be polarized by its technological content. The aims of this study are to identify how the human activity is being analyzed on automated driving research and determine the analysis criteria used. Two distinctive paradigms were identified in the literature: the first one is focused on the behavioral measurable changes induced by automation functioning;the second paradigm puts at the center of analysis the construct of "activity" when interacting with technology. Based on the work psychology knowledge regarding the work activity within automated systems, the need to bring to the fore the drivers' point of view is argued as a real means to design automated vehicles taking human aspects into account.
