The paper presents a method for opinion polarity classification of online reviews, which includes a web crawler, part of speech tagger, constructor of lexicons of sentiment aware words, sentiment scoring algorithm and training of opinion classifier. The method is tested on 500 000 online reviews of restaurants and hotels, which are relatively simple and short texts that are also tagged by their authors and limited to a set of topics like service, food quality, ambience, etc. The results from conducted experiment shows that the presented method achieves an accuracy of up to 88%, which is comparable with the best results reported from similar approaches.

The overall objective of the present work is to develop and implement a novel multi-step general computational methodology for modeling of complex condensed-phase systems on high-performance computing environments. First, molecular dynamics (MD) or Monte Carlo (MC) simulations of the free interacting clusters, as well as of clusters microsolvated by several molecules from the medium (solvent) are performed. MD or MC simulations are carried out applying either classical empirical interaction potentials, or implementing quantum mechanical MD or MC methodologies. Quantum mechanical MD simulations are carried out with the Born-Oppenheimer approach (BOMD), the Car-Parrinello (CPMD) approach, or using the atom-centered density matrix propagation scheme (ADMP). Sequential to this step, a series of suitably chosen configurations from the statistical physics simulations corresponding to the equilibrated system, which are mutually statistically independent, are subjected to further more rigorous quantum mechanical analysis. In this way, a realistic simulation of complex physico-chemical systems is enabled, in real computational time, without loosing, in statistical sense, any relevant information about the system. Due to the complexity of the algorithms which are used for this hybrid approach, it is of crucial importance to be able to implement the computational strategy on high-performance computing environment. Often, the overall CPU time which is required is very high. Therefore, achieving good parallel efficiency for calculations of such type is far from a trivial task without the use of high-performance low-latency MPI interconnect.

In large multi-agent system (MAS), the definition of protocols between pairs of agents is not enough for guaranteeing the absence of undesirable communication organizations and the presence of desirable ones. This paper presents a technique and a tool for designing robust MAS communication architectures. In particular, in the proposed technique, designers are not only recommended to design the desired communication protocols, but also the undesired ones and the organization structures. The proposed tool performs data mining and on-line analytical processing (OLAP) on the logs of execution of MAS that use the Foundation for intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) protocol, in order to debug MAS communication architectures. The experimental results advocate that this approach is useful for MAS debugging and testing.

In many applications, spatial data need to be considered but are prone to uncertainty or imprecision. A fuzzy region - a fuzzy set over a two dimensional domain - allows the representation of such imperfect spatial data. In the original model, points of the fuzzy region where treated independently, making it impossible to model regions where groups of points should be considered as one basic element or subregion. A first extension overcame this, but required points within a group to have the same membership grade. In this contribution, we will extend this further, allowing a fuzzy region to contain subregions in which not all points have the same membership grades. The concept can be used as an underlying model in spatial applications, e.g. websites showing maps and requiring representation of imprecise features or websites with routing functions needing to handle concepts as walking distance or closeby.

Different methods of classification have been used in this paper to model pitting corrosion behaviour of austenitic stainless steel EN 1.4404. This material was subjected to electrochemical polarization tests in aqueous environment of varying chloride ion concentration (from NaCl solutions), pH values and temperature in order to determine values of critical pitting potentials (E-pit) for each condition tested. In this way, the classification methods employed try to simulate the relation between E-pit and those various environmental parameters studied. Different techniques have been used: Classification Trees (CT), Discriminant Analysis (DA), K-Nearest-Neighbours (K-NN), Backpropagation Neural Networks (BPNN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM). These models have generally been regarded as successful. They have been able to give a good correlation between experimental and predicted data. The analysis of the results becomes useful to plan improvement in the austenitic stainless steel protection and to avoid critical conditions expositures of this material.

In this study the implementation of the tasks in extreme programming software process was modeled using a fuzzy system. The inputs of the system are defined as communication between pair programmers, the writing of unit tests and the coding rules, while the output is the implemented task. The defuzzified output of this fuzzy system provides quantitative results that can be used to determine to how good a task has been implemented.
