Nowadays e-commerce becomes more and more popular and widespread. Being on the web opens many possibilities for both customers and service providers or goods merchants, thence there is a great potential and opportunity for all e-shops. For example, many e-shops provide discussion forum for every product they sell. Besides the primary role of any discussion forum, i.e. to facilitate discussions among customers, the reader can benefit from the opinions expressed there. However, if there are too many comments on the forum, we have a problem of extracting the essential overall opinion from it. At least some kind of partial automation is desirable. One approach is to perform opinion mining. In this work, we elaborate opinion mining for a problem setting where there is a need to extract overall sentiments expressed by discussion forum participants, i.e. whether the opinion represents positive or negative attitude. We propose a method of mining overall sentiments and design a fully automated system that will provide intelligent processing of large amount of reviews and opinions.

Confidence measures play a very important role in keyword spotting systems. Traditional confidence measures are based on the score computed when the audio is decoded. Classification-based techniques by means of Multi-layer Perceptrons (MLPs) and Support Vector Machines have shown to be powerful ways to improve the final performance in terms of hits and false alarms. In this work we evaluate a keyword spotting system performance by incorporating an evolutionary algorithm as confidence measure and compare its performance with traditional classification techniques based on MLP. We show that this evolutionary algorithm gets better performance than the MLP when False Alarm (FA) is high and always performs better than the confidence measure based on the single score computed during the audio decoding.

This paper describes a system for entity extraction from the web. The system uses three different extraction techniques which are tightly coupled with mechanisms for retrieving entity rich web pages. The main contributions of this paper are a new entity retrieval approach, a comparison of different extraction techniques and a more precise entity extraction algorithm. Inappropriate cutting force often causes tool failures, poor surface quality, and even machine breakdowns. It can be overcome by optimizing some cutting parameters, in particular, feed-rate. To optimize feed-rate, we propose a system which consists of three tasks: Optimization task, Process control task and Knowledge Based Evaluation (KBE) task. STEP-NC data model is used to perform the tasks. Given the nominal powers, the cutting force can be estimated based on the higher-level production information such as material work-piece properties, tool materials and geometries, and machine capabilities. The information together with the STEP-NC data model enables us to optimize the feed-rate via Optimization task, where EXPRESS language is used for constructing the data model. The actual feed-rate is attained by verifying the optimized feed-rate under actual cutting force condition based on the Process control task at shop-floor. Finally, the actual feed-rate is recorded and evaluated in the KBE task.

Computer Aided Process Planning has received more attention recently due to considerable progress in the aspects of both technology and theory. Beside the traditional trends and efforts to integrate the product design and process planning activities usually referred to as concurrent engineering, virtual manufacturing tools have opened new horizons to this domain. This paper describes how to combine an existing modular fixture design with process planning and simulation tools. The proposed concurrent architecture consists of a functional model and an operational workflow for the design of modular fixtures within the process-planning phase. Two different paradigms, the Variant and the Generative, are discussed in relation to the proposed architecture. Fixtures for Body in White lines are a crucial design problem in the automotive industry. Therefore, the proposed architecture has been tested and investigated in such an environment.

Recently small and medium enterprises have strived to collaborate with them to maintain the global trend of manufacturing environment and to satisfy various requirements of customers rapidly. To accomplish the collaboration with enterprises, a collaborative business processes should be defined at first, and the legacy systems of enterprises should be also integrated. However, the system integration brings about realistic problems such as time and cost, information sharing and security, etc. To resolve those problems, this study proposes a framework of system integration including a milestone model which manages only events and outputs of process, and a service which connects the milestone model to legacy systems. It also proposes the architecture of service handling to manage a lot of services requested from activities during executing the collaborative business process. A management scenario which describes the role of project managers and members is prepared to execute collaborative projects smoothly on the collaborative business process. To check the feasibility of the proposed framework, this study implements a prototype integration portal and develops Milestone Designer program to help process managers with modeling the enterprise milestone model easily. The prototype portal reveals that the proposed framework is valid to apply to a real value chain.

The consequences analysis is based on simulation in which outcomes are average costs of resources depending on suppliers selected. The results of the analysis can be helpful for other companies when selecting suppliers, as it shows relations between suppliers, resources they provide, and final product, its quality and cost. This paper presents a self-adaptive cooperation model for autonomous mobile devices, to achieve collaborative goals in crisis management scenarios. The model, which is based on the AMAS theory, allows dynamic team formation, task allocation and reconfiguration. The global behaviour emerges from interactions among individual agents. Task responsibility allocation is done by individual estimations of the degree of difficulty and priority to achieve the task. Then each peer exchanges its evaluation records with the others in order to find out the best suited peer to take the responsibility. Research work has been done in the framework of the ROSACE project. The experimental setting based on forest fire crisis management, and a working example are also described in the paper.
