The purpose of this paper was to realize the self-adjustment function of the conventional PID control parameters. Based on deducing the interstand tension control model of tandem cold rolling, this paper combined the fuzzy PID control algorithm with the conventional PID control technology to design a self-tuning fuzzy PID controller. Simulation results show that this method not only fulfills the self-adjustment function of control parameters under the various interference signals, but also optimizes the dynamic and static characteristic of the tension control system and improves the stability of the tension effectively.

Context aware is a trend of converged network and service. In order to support context aware, network capability would be extended to collect and provide environment or user related information. At the same time, context based triggering schema would be introduced for service triggering which changes the way that people use service. New service could be triggered in a more feasible way. However, that would also introduce some other problems. One of the problems is how to collaborate different service together, as service would happen anytime which will lead to conflict. In this study, we introduce a gaming theory method, which models the procedure of service triggering and interaction. A service collaboration example is provided in the experiment. And result of this study would be combined with our previous study to become a framework to support human centric service.

The mechanisms describing the cooperative binding of CO or other ligands to hemoglobins (Hb) has been widely studied as an important fundamental problem for a long time. In this paper, the quantum yields in photolyses of carboxy-hemoglobins (HbCO) of mammals, such as human, pig, bovine, horse and rabbit, are investigated by the optical pump-probe technique. In the technique, the HbCO of the mammals are irradiated by a pulsed laser beam, and then the HbCO is photo-dissociated. Another continuous optical beam is used as a probe beam to detect the absorbance change induced by the photo-dissociation of the HbCO. The measured results show that the photolysis quantum yields of the HbCO are different for varies mammals, among them the quantum yields for porcine, bovine and equine HbCO are very close, but for the HbCO of rabbit, which is much smaller than the others. Finally, the results are analyzed and discussed.

Pulmonary diseases such as lung cancer, tumor, and mass cells can be detected with 2D Otsu algorithm. 2D Otsu algorithm is a well-known image segmentation method. In CT images segmentation 2D Otsu play a vital role. Main drawback of 2D Otsu method is its computation complexity and computational time. In this paper 2D Otsu algorithm has implemented with Differential Evolution (DE) Algorithm. This results in reducing the computational complexity as well as computational time. Further the results are compared with 2D Otsu and 2D Otsu with PSO, which proves the efficiency of using DE with 2D Otsu.

Protein Structure Prediction (PSP) is a challenging problem in bioinformatics and computational biology research for its immense scope of application in drug design, disease prediction, name a few. Developing a suitable optimization technique for predicting the structure of proteins has been addressed in the paper, using Differential Evolutionary (DE) algorithm applied in the square 2D HP lattice model. In the work, we concentrate on handling infeasible solutions and modify control parameters like population size (NP), scale factor (F), crossover ratio (CR) and mutation strategy of the DE algorithm to improve its performance in PSP problem. The proposed method is compared with the existing methods using benchmark sequence of protein databases, showing very promising and effective performance in PSP problem.

In this study, we aimed to identify acaricidal compounds in Inula japonica against Tetranychus cinnabarinus. Here, I. japonica petroleum-ether extracts were found toxic to T. cinnabarinus with a LC50 value of 1.18 mg/ml. Silica gel column chromatography was used to further separate acaricidal components from I. japonica petroleum-ether extracts. Contact toxicity data showed that 17 out of 38 fractions groups had mite mortality rates above 50%, 9 fraction groups above 60 %, and fractions groups G5, G7 and G15 even above 80 % at a concentration of 2 mg/ml. The major vital compounds in the bioactive fraction groups were identified by GC/MS, and four compounds, namely beta-Sitosterol (1), Stigmasterol (2), Lupeol (3), and alpha-Amyrin (4) were determined to have acaricidal activity to Tetranychus cinnabarinus.
