Directional solidification microstructure of Bridgman system was simulated using phase-field method, and different pulling velocity calculated results were obtained. When the pulling velocity is 0.08 cm/s, the columnar crystals competitively grow. The space between columnar crystals is the biggest. When the pulling velocity is 0.90 cm/s, the columnar crystals become thinner and competitively grow all the time, and the microsegregation is bigger. When the pulling velocity is 1.60 cm/s, planar interface comes back, and solute trapping takes place. The columnar crystals become much thinner, and microsegregation decreases. When the pulling velocity is 1.80 cm/s, the grain boundary of columnar crystals becomes unconspicuous, and the degree of microsegregation approaches 1. The major methods for video security protection are digital watermarking and multimedia encryption. In this paper, we focus our works on the video security protection;propose a video security protection system combining digital watermarking and digital encryption. Our improved method increases the efficiency of embedding watermark while keeping the same robust. And we also propose a video encryption method based on scrambling. Experiment results confirm that the performance of our improved algorithm is better than the existing methods.

Barrel shifter is one of the important data path elements and widely used in many key computer operations from address decoding to computer arithmetic, using basic operations like data shifting and rotation. In this paper MUX based barrel shifter circuits are designed and implemented in 0.6 mu m, N-well CMOS process using three different logic design styles, namely, optimized static CMOS, transmission gate (TG) CMOS and dual rail domino CMOS logic. The proposed barrel shifter architecture implementation shows large reduction in the propagation delay, while keeping the almost similar average power consumption as compared to the implementation by Ramin Rafati [10]. A further inter comparison of implementations using three different logic design styles for various performance and characteristic parameters like circuit delay, average power, maximum instantaneous power, leakage Power, transistor count, layout core area, total routing length and number of via are presented.

In order to illuminate the antigenicity of porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) spike protein B and C antigen sites, the truncated spike gene including B and C antigen sites of Chinese isolate TH-98 was expressed respectively in ***. baculovirus and pichia pastoris expression systems. Dot enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (Dot-ELISA) based on these three recombinant proteins were developed preliminarily. Ten sera obtained correspondingly from ten piglets two months old which showed up clinical symptom were used for examination. The study indicates that the assays are rapid, reliable and sensitive and it has the potential for use as serological methods for TGEV diagnosis.

For energy-constrained wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs), how to minimize the energy consumption while still capturing the events images with low latency becomes a crucial question in the design. A good solution for this question is using two-tier network, in which the camera sensor nodes should only be woken up when an event is detected by the scalar sensor nodes within its sensing field. In this solution, a key step is to know the coverage relationship between the camera sensor nodes and the scalar sensor nodes. Therefore we study the sensing models of these two kinds of sensor nodes and define the coverage relationship between them in this paper. An algorithm to calculate the coverage relationship between these two kinds of sensor nodes is presented. Thus, during the working process of the network, by saving the coverage relationship table in its memory, each camera sensor node can easy to know whether they cove the events or not.

Geological surface mesh generation is a prerequisite for 3D topographical modeling and also is one of the most difficult tasks due to the complication. Interpolating surface modeling is a new paradigm using interpolating grid to model surfaces of any arbitrary topology. In this paper, we combine it with the traditional Delaunay triangulation algorithm to design a new surface mesh generation scheme. Using this scheme can avoid the disadvantage of the traditional analytical model on the discontinuous surface modeling and can establish the underlying geometric model from random scattered measurements. The results of the applications show that it produced a good mesh shape. The ability to deal with, the sharp changes also is very good. All of these characters make this scheme have a great potential application in finite element analysis in geological area.

This paper describes the course design and practices in teaching undergraduate's database system (DBS) to software engineering (SE) and digital media engineering (DME) students at the software school of Xiamen University, China. Although the majority teaching objectives of DBS are the same for SE and DME students, there exist minor emphasis differences between them. How to achieve their respective goals under the unified teaching framework is a meaningful challenge. In our course design, by introducing advanced (graduate-level) materials to SE and multimedia database technology materials to DME, all the students can not only obtain the deep understanding of the database system concepts, but also master the solid practical development skills related to their specific areas.
