This paper presents a concept of an intuitionistic notice board. The board consists of notices including statements. Notices may be considered as variables of intuitionistic fuzzy logic. It was assumed that the notices in question are nodes of a network whose links represent necessary and sufficient conditions occurring between the nodes. These conditions are written down as a system of inequalities between the values of intuitionistic variables. Furthermore, a manner in which approximate solutions in a network of notices are determined was introduced. The main benefits to arise from the use of notice boards may include a possibility for a knowledge model compilation from independently developed individual submodels that, subsequently, can be easily consolidated to form a general model. In addition, another advantage of the proposed approach allows for both consistency verification of the designed model, and monitoring of potential contradictory cases that may occur in the model during its operation.

In this paper, we show an architecture, communication protocol and implementation details of the system for remote video verification and video surveillance on Android-based mobile devices. We also present our remarks on the connection quality while testing the transmission from our video verification system over Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM).

Examination of possibility of applying results of eye-tracking of visual stimuli in diagnosis and therapy of neuropsychological disorders requires developing the methodology of analysis of data obtained in this process. One of the important elements of this methodology is the stage of separating the process of syntactic analysis (bottom-up) from the process of semantic analysis (top-down) of visual stimuli. In order to separate these processes, it is necessary to develop an objective method for segmentation of visual stimuli, enabling us to select areas of interest in both processes. In this paper we present a ImageJ plugin for easy development of image segmentation (clustering) pipelines. Main focus of our approach is to provide scientists working with various images (especially biological and medical ones) with a tool making development of segmentation pipelines fast and easy. We accomplish this by introducing an extra abstraction layer to the ImageJ image segmentation approach - the feature space projection - that enables us to work with complex image descriptors and manage, visualize and test them directly from the plugin. Furthermore we give three separate ways of expressing such projections - one based on Java language, one based on external scripting and one on our custom simple Micro Matrix Language. The plugin can also serve as a fast method of rapid prototyping of image filters while its full ImageJ macro support makes it really easy to include it in ones current image processing methods.

Selectivity estimation is an activity performed during a query optimization process. Selectivity parameter lets estimate the query result size before the query is really executed. This allows to obtain the best query execution plan. For complex queries (where selection condition is based on many attributes) an accurate selectivity estimation requires a multidimensional distribution of attributes values. But often, attribute value independence assumption and usage of only 1-dimensional distributions give a sufficient accuracy of selectivity approximation. The paper describes the method of selectivity estimation for queries with a complex selection condition based on a sum of independent attributes or sub-independent ones. The proposed method operates on 1-dimensional Fourier Transforms of marginal distributions of attributes that are involved in the selection condition.

This paper presents an extension of the visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM) system with the direct measurements of the robot's orientation change. Four different sources of the additional measurements were considered: visual odometry using both the 5-point [10, 15] and 8-point algorithm [9], wheel odometry and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) measurements. The accuracy of the proposed system was compared with the accuracy of the canonical MonoSLAM [7]. The introduction of the additional measurements allowed to reduce the mean error by 17%.

Efficient management of variables of VBA language and process database blocks is presented as well as adjustment of Simulator work to the computing power of used computer is determined. The method of signal averaging is such technique that allows the repeated or periodic waveforms which are contaminated by noise to be enhanced. The most often used operation for averaging is the arithmetic averaging and its different variations. Unfortunately the mean operator is sensitive for outliers. In this work the well known myriad M-estimator is applied for averaging. The myriad weighted averaging allows to suppress the impulsive type of noise. In order to evaluate the proposed method, artificial impulsive noise is generated with using the symmetric a-stable distributions. The impulsive noise component is added to the deterministic signal with known value of geometric signal-to-noise ratio (GSNR) which is equivalent of ordinary SNR. The experiments show usefulness of the proposed method for weighted averaging of periodic signals like ECG signal.
