Game semantics provides an alternative perspective in the understanding of standard logical concepts such as truth, model similarity and consistency. In the game, one player claims that certain logical property holds (e.g. a formula is true in a model, or two models are similar), and the other player claims the opposite. The winning strategy of the first player is used to characterize the truth of a formula/similarity between two models. Modal logic of counting is the extension of modal logic by adding formulas of the form #phi greater than or similar to #psi stating that the number of phi-successors is greater than or equal to the number of psi-successors. In this paper, we define the evaluation game and the model comparison game for modal logic with counting. In the evaluation game, we make use of the fact that if the number kappa(1) of phi-successors is greater than or equal to the number kappa(2) of psi-successors, then there is a cardinal number kappa(3) such that kappa(1) >= kappa(3) >= kappa(2). In the model comparison game, we define #-bisimulation and n-#-bisimulation, which are the basic notions in the definition of the model comparison game for modal logic with counting.

With the growing electricity demand, the likelihood of experiencing power outages is also rising. Utility companies have started buying electricity through e-auctions to address this issue. To meet the increasing electricity demand, we investigate a solution to procure energy from various sources, trading off multiple objectives while solving a complex winner(s) determination problem for resource procurement optimization. Winner determination is an NP-hard problem, and applying exact methods is impractical. Instead, we rely on nature-inspired techniques as they are appropriate for trading the quality of the returned solution for the required running time. In particular, Genetic Algorithms (GAs), Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Firefly Algorithm (FA) are explored and evaluated in terms of effectiveness in producing high-quality solutions for various instances of the Combinatorial Reverse Auction (CRA) problem.

Breast thermography captures infrared radiation images to monitor skin surface temperature changes non-invasively. This data, when combined with artificial intelligence, facilitates early breast cancer diagnosis and detection. However, training deep learning algorithms such as convolutional neural networks is challenging due to the limited number of images. The primary objective of this study is to create a set of synthetic breast thermographic images using segmentation and data augmentation techniques. In thiswork, we propose 1) Using public breast thermography databases, 2) Segmenting the region of interest with the U-Net network, 3) Increasing the variety of thermographic images using the SNGAN model, and 4) Evaluating the performance and accuracy of the previous algorithms with statistical metrics. The results indicate that the U-Net achieved an IoU of 0.96 and a Dice coefficient of 0.97. The SNGAN network generated 2000 synthetic images, reflected in a KID value of 4.54. In conclusion, U-Net is highly effective for segmenting regions of interest in thermographic images, and SNGAN shows promising results in synthetic image generation.

Insects comprise the majority of species on earth, but their population is facing a rapid decline. Many studies have highlighted the impact of excessive use of fertilizers and the effect of continuous change in farm practices on pollinator's biodiversity. To preserve their biodiversity, 24x7 monitoring of flying insects on farmland is essential. Manual observation-based traditional monitoring techniques are ineffective, time-consuming and not applicable for real-time field monitoring. To overcome these limitations, an idea is to develop a network of digital sensors on farmland for effective monitoring of biodiversity. This paper proposes the development of a Digital Entomology (DE) sensor for biodiversity surveillance at a large scale. The sensor monitors the real-time movement of airborne insects along with environmental data and processes it on the cloud for subsequent analysis. The proposed DE sensor is a solar-powered and IoT-enabled processor device suitable for deployment at remote locations. The local management of the sensor is facilitated through the Device Manager Portal (DMP) for accessing device configurations and enabling data downloads via a local Wi-Fi hotspot. The inclusion of over-the-air updates (OTA) capability enables the management and updates of sensors from a location that can be far away from where it is deployed. The proposed DE precisely detects the pollinator's movement with a high accuracy during testing in farmlands which makes it superior to other existing systems available in the market.

In this work, the incorporation of a Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) into the DepthAI camera Oak-D Lite for detecting number of apples on trees has been done. The integration procedure encompasses the stages of model building, optimization, conversion to DepthAI format, and deployment on the edge devices. The Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) has been compared with YOLOv3, Faster R-CNN, SSD, and RetinaNet to proved its superioiry. To evaluate the performance we have evaluated five performance parameters that are Precision (.92), Recall (.86), F1-Score (.89), and mAP (.82). Also CBAM model demonstrates a reduced False Positive Rate (FPR) and False Negative Rate (FNR) of 0.0219 and 0.1636 respectively. Moreover, the self created dataset of apple trees has been created to carry out this research. The whole work is tested at shimla region of himacahal pradesh, India.

Technology-based solutions can potentially support older adults in managing their health and fitness routines. However, their adoption among this demographic is low. In this systematic review, we explore the research landscape in this domain by investigating 78 publications published over the past decade from two prominent databases. Our primary objective is to understand how these studies integrate essential contextual factors, particularly cultural and socio-economic influences, in their design and development phases. Our analysis identifies various contextual factors, with social factors emerging as a prominent influence. Additionally, our analysis reveals disparities in research across countries with varying levels of economic development. Based on these findings, our recommendations include promoting research initiatives in economically disadvantaged areas, considering older adults' diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and incorporating relevant contextual factors in the design of technology solutions, long-term assessments to gauge the sustained impact of these solutions on older adults.

One challenge when evaluating lighting distribution is dealing with the variable locations data, variability in illuminances in offices. To address the aforementioned issues: (i) when there is no daylight, a data measurement method with free and non-equally spaced personnel locations is proposed. (ii) the location information is fused, and the Gaussian function is used to numerically fit and compensate for the errors, so that a Gaussian mixture error prediction model is constructed to improve the fitting accuracy of the model. (iii) to build the best artificial lighting hybrid prediction model and improve its prediction capability. The least squares criterion is used to determine the Improved Differential Evolutionary Algorithm's target fitness function. The prediction performance of the model was evaluated and it was found that the R-2, MAE, and MSE of the proposed method were 0.996, 0.017 lx, and 0.013 lx, respectively. The method provided higher prediction accuracy and could more accurately predict the illumination state of the indoor light environment.

In this paper we are examining an error-detecting code which we have defined in our previous work. The code is defined using the algebraic structure quasigroup. If a quasigroup (Q, *) is used for coding, then the code each information part a(0)a(1)... a(n-1) (where for every i, a(i) is an element of Q), encode into a(0)a(1)... a(n-1)d(0)d(1)... d(n-1) where d(i) = a(i) * a(i+1) ((mod n)), for every i. Previously we have obtained the probability of undetected errors for all suitable for coding quasigroups of order 4 and identified the maximal number of faulty bits up to which the code surely detects the errors when for coding are used quasigroups from the top two classes in terms of the probability of undetected errors. Now, we will theoretically obtain this parameter for all other suitable quasigroups of order 4 and will conclude whether the quasigroups of order 4 that belong to the top classes in terms of the probability of undetected error also belong to the top class from the aspect of the maximal number of faulty bits up to which the code always detects the errors in transmission. With this we will obtain the quasigroups for which the code achieves optimal error-detecting capability.

Intelligent Transportation Systems can play a valuable role in providing traffic control, road safety, and communications among vehicles. Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a network useful for providing communications between vehicles on road and is playing a predominant role in modern intelligent transportation systems. But the high mobility of vehicles in vanet and its inconsistent connections in the network make it highly susceptible to security threats to vehicles. The fiercest attacks in vanet are the Black Hole attack and the Sybil attack. In Black hole attack, the attacker vehicle, at the time of routing represents itself with the smallest and most desired route to the destination and hence communication with other legitimate nodes starts with this attacker node. Now the attacker vehicle can drop all the packets or send the information to other malicious vehicles. In Sybil attack the malicious vehicle sends fake alert message of high traffic to RSU and then RSU alerts other vehicles on the road of false high traffic with the intention of a malicious vehicle. The proposed algorithm in this research paper prevents the black hole attack and Sybil attack by using the encrypted identity of vehicles in the network making vanet secure from black hole attack and Sybil attack.

Can a chorded keyboard improve text entry speed for Indian languages? This paper documents a wearable chorded keyboard for the Malayalam language and the longitudinal study conducted to evaluate the performance of the keyboard. We evaluated text entry speed among 18 users across 10 sessions. Our results indicate that participants were able to significantly improve their text entry speeds over time, demonstrating the potential of chorded keyboards for efficient text input in complex scripts. To the best of our knowledge, ours is the first study that evaluates a chorded keyboard for an Indian language.
