In response to the consistently low performance in mathematics among elementary students in Chile, a mobile application using gamification techniques was developed to enhance student engagement and academic achievement. This paper explores the implementation of this gamified app, designed to make mathematical learning both interactive and enjoyable. Leveraging elements typical of gaming, such as points and levels, the app aims to increase intrinsic motivation and participation within the classroom setting. The intervention included a group of students who used the app over a specified period, allowing for a pre and post evaluation of their mathematical skills and interest levels. Results showed an increase in mathematical performance and a modest increase on a Likert scale in students' interest towards mathematics. These findings suggest that gamification can serve as an educational tool to enhance learning and student engagement in mathematics.

Currently, a large amount of clinical data spread across various websites makes it difficult for users to find useful information to improve their wellbeing. Furthermore, the overload of medical information has caused many difficulties for healthcare specialists to make decisions in favor of patients. The choice of the most suitable drug is important for patients and requires specialists who have a lot of information about all drugs as well as medical data of patients. The importance of drug choice is not just in the effectiveness of the latter in the treatment, but there is another factor, which is the side effects presented by the drug. A side effect can range from mild disturbances to life-threatening problems. Therefore, this project's objective is to create a drug recommendation system that addresses the challenges of scattered clinical data and medical information overload. It aims to recommend effective drugs with minimal side effects, collecting patients' data to overcome data scarcity. The system targets cases where patients experience side effects, offering alternative drug options. Its significance lays in providing personalized drug recommendations for patients and building a comprehensive patient profile database. Ultimately, this system can enhance healthcare decision-making and improve patient well-being.

Link prediction is a critical research frontier in graph data analytics. In real-world scenarios, graph data often exhibit heterogeneity and temporal dynamism, adding layers of complexity to analytical models. Existing work typically considers either heterogeneity or temporal dynamism, with very few studies modeling both properties simultaneously. In this study, we propose a novel link prediction framework designed to integrate both heterogeneity and temporal variations within graph data, applicable across a wide range of domains. Our framework includes a Dual-Window Strategy and a Mix information Graph Neural Network (MIGNN) model. TheMIGNN synthesizes temporal node representations by aggregating heterogeneous temporal information, while the Dual-Window Strategy enhances the model's ability to capture long-term distributional characteristics inherent in graph data. We also incorporate additional experiments using a more equitable data-splitting approach and perform comparisons with an expanded range of baseline methods.

Digital twins to manufacturing simulation require a complete virtual representation of the environment for immersive human interactions. From computer vision techniques, it is possible to model the respective real scenery based on a set of digital images. This paper addresses a strategy to create virtual layouts through 3D reconstruction from photogrammetry. The main context is to help humans to be trained using synthetic information, preparing their actions to perform the respective real operations of productive processes as aligned with industry 5.0 requirements. Here we present a selection of the emerging technologies categorized to perform the shop-floor layout digitalization as a first stage of a digital twin creation of a real industrial scenario as a starting point to the industrial metaverse architecture. Also, we present an experimental digitalization operation of a complex scenery and the respective discussion about its use in manufacturing simulation.

Access to digital technology and computer literacy skills is crucial in bridging the digital divide, particularly in rural areas where resources are often scarce. This study investigates the feasibility of implementing university service-learning projects in distant rural areas by delivering computer literacy training through recorded video lessons. The project aims to address the South African digital divide by providing essential skills training to community members who lack access to traditional face-to-face educational opportunities. Due to logistical constraints preventing direct student involvement in remote areas, the study explores the effectiveness of utilising recorded video lessons as an alternative delivery method. The findings reveal that face-to-face and recorded video implementations of computer literacy training led to significant improvements for participating community members. Analysis of the data showed that there was no significant difference in the level of improvement between the two methods. These results underscore the potential of recorded video lessons to effectively deliver educational content to remote communities, thereby extending the reach and impact of university service-learning initiatives. The study contributes to efforts to bridge the digital divide in South Africa and offers insights into scalable and sustainable solutions for empowering underserved populations with essential digital skills. This research highlights the importance of innovative approaches to address the challenges of delivering education to remote areas where traditional methods may be impractical or inaccessible. By leveraging technology to disseminate educational content, universities can promote digital inclusion and empower communities to thrive in an increasingly digitised world.

Today's world-wide traffic congestion significantly contributes to wastage of time and fuel in addition to environmental stress, such as air pollution due to CO2 emissions. To address these concerns, traffic management systems are continually developed and improved to become intelligent and adaptable. For instance, self-organizing strategies like the Organic Traffic Control (OTC) system present benefits such as enhanced efficiency, resilience, and scalability. Beyond the de-centralised and traffic-responsive manipulation of traffic signals, synchronised adjustment of traffic lights through Progressive Signal Systems ("Green Waves") plays an important role. As previous work we presented an approach for creating decentralised PSS, taking recognised incidents into account to steer the traffic flows. In this paper we further propose a decision-tree based incident detection mechanism.

In the context of financial auditing, the efficient retrieval of accurate data, minimization of reprocessing efforts, mitigation of inherent risks in data processing, and improvement of information quality represent crucial objectives. In this regard, we present an automated system designed to optimize data processing in auditing. This system provides an automated assessment of the six data quality dimensions according to the DAMA model: completeness, reasonability, accuracy, uniqueness, validity, and consistency. This process is essential to determine whether data sources meet the necessary standards for use in various analytical processes. The tool was validated in the Wholesale Banking Management of Banco de Credito del Peru, where it successfully analyzed 100% of data sources in the commercial credit audit, reducing the processing time of each source by 10 times. These results confirm that our software significantly contributes to improving data processing in the field of financial auditing. This system has proven to be effective and reliable in enhancing the overall efficiency and accuracy of financial audits.

The Internet of Drones (IoD) presents a transformative advancement in unmanned aerial systems, promising enhanced capabilities across numerous industries, including agriculture, security, and logistics. However, integrating these systems into critical sectors makes them a prominent cyber-attack target. This survey examines the current landscape of authentication schemes designed to secure IoD communications, emphasizing the need for solutions that are effective in preventing security breaches and efficient enough to operate within the resource constraints of drone technology. We explore several authentication schemes that depend on various cryptographic methods, including blockchain-based cryptography, elliptic curve cryptography, and cryptographic hash functions, assessing their suitability for IoD environments based on security analysis and security features. This survey highlights recent innovations in the authentication field and provides a comparative analysis of their performance in various IoD applications. This comprehensive review aims to guide researchers, technologists, and policymakers in developing and adopting authentication strategies that enhance drone networks' security and operational efficacy.

The article introduces a novel approach for identifying and classifying spammer groups in online review systems. The focus is integrating review content and group behavioural features to enhance spam detection accuracy. The proposed method utilizes the Frequent Pattern (FP) Growth Algorithm to generate candidate groups. Subsequently, it analyzes various spammer indicators, including Rating Features, Date Feature, Rating Variance, Group Size, Group Member Content Similarity, Weighted Rating Average, and Review Length Feature. This article employed a Yelp dataset containing reviews of hotels and restaurants and performed data preprocessing techniques for text analysis. Visualization of rating distribution, word frequency, and the relationship between review length and rating is presented to provide insights into the dataset. The proposed method is compared with existing models, demonstrating superior performance across multiple evaluation metrics, achieving an accuracy of 98.36% on Random Forest. The article highlights the significance of the developed approach in detecting fake reviews, particularly those posted by professional spammers. Future directions include exploring unsupervised methods for spammer group detection to improve robustness and scalability.

In an audio communication via VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) over a network with high delay and/or loss, participants can step-over each other and have a poor user experience. This paper presents a novel approach to mitigate step-overs during audio call and hence enhance user experience in audio communications, particularly in scenarios characterized by high network delays and/or loss. The proposed solution involves the integration of dynamic visual feedback into the user interface (UI). Through the use of dynamic animations displayed on the user's screen, real-time updates regarding the reception status of the transmitted audio, at the intended recipient are provided. This innovative method aims to enhance the user experience during audio communication sessions under adverse network conditions. We employed a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to validate our hypothesis, which aimed to reduce step-overs during audio calls with high delay, ultimately enhancing the user experience. The results were positive, with participants reporting improved experiences when animation was enabled where the average rating of the Mean Opinion Score (MOS), which ranges from 1 to 5 (with 1 indicating the lowest and 5 indicating the highest satisfaction), increased from 2.6 to 3.7. And we also observed a significant reduction of approximately 35% in step-overs when the animation was enabled ("animation on") as compared to when it was disabled ("animation off").
