The localization of the sound source is crucial in audio signal processing, especially when using acoustic vector sensors. Traditional methods typically utilize active intensity vector information to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA). However, these methods often fail to estimate the DOA of small-amplitude sound sources in the presence of high interference. This study introduces an innovative approach that uses the reactive intensity vector as a clue to enhance the estimation of DOA for sound sources. The simulation results confirm that our proposed method consistently outperforms traditional techniques in estimating DOA for small-amplitude sound sources.

The investigation of contributions from Latin American researchers is highly relevant in the context of the Metaverse for education and immersive learning. In this way, the objective of this study is to characterize the state of the art of Metaverse for Education based on Latin American research. Based on our findings, papers are predominantly focused on empirical and development studies, suggesting an under-representation of theoretical and conceptual approaches which are crucial for deeper understanding. Additionally, there's a significant opportunity to expand the research to other Latin American countries, besides Brazil, which would encourage a broader diversity of approaches and perspectives.

This Reflection Paper focuses on refining and implementing a maturity model specifically designed to support Data Teams, aligning with the principles of Business Process Management (BPM). The rapid ascension of agile methodologies as a core business strategy underscores the imperative for Data Teams to exhibit advanced self-organization and adaptability. Drawing upon the foundational theories proposed by (Lederer & Thummerer, 2019) and incorporating contemporary agile practices, this study tailors a maturity model to the specific exigencies of Data Teams. Through a specialized adaptation process, including a bespoke survey, the research evaluates the model's efficacy in real-world settings, providing insights into the essential attributes that promote agility and selforganization in Data Teams. The outcomes describe a nuanced framework that informs strategic enhancements in Data Teams, facilitating their key function in driving agile BPM and creating organizational resilience in the face of shifts business landscapes.

This paper proposes a Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA), a unique optimization technique for the synergistic integration of renewable energy and High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology to enhance the performance of multi-objective economic emission dispatch (MODED). The primary aim is to optimize both the economic and environmental aspects of power systems. A mathematical model for MODED based on Wind-Solar-Thermal integrated energy has been carefully constructed, considering variables like the valve point effect, equality constraints, and inequality constraints. The study determines optimal generation levels and associated costs for six thermal generating units under various power demands, exploring diverse scenarios such as Economic Dispatch for High Voltage-Alternating Current (HVAC) with Losses, Economic Dispatch for HVDC with Losses, Economic Dispatch for HVDC addressing challenges related to voltage instability, protection difficulties and losses in DC systems, Economic Dispatch HVAC & HVDC with Losses and Economic Dispatch for HVAC & HVDC with Renewable Energy (RE). To validate the model, tests have been conducted on the IEEE 30 Bus System with a substantial presence of renewable energy.

Automated control of the smooth operation modes of control-measuring and control devices installed in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) was proposed, methods of solving their tuning, calibration and testing issues were given. Development of the tested intelligent system and its information support was carried out to perform the mentioned functions. Considering that the technical bases of the modern era are covered by intellectual systems, the article presented by us is quite relevant and covers the requirements of the modern era. As the existing metrological characteristics of the control-measuring devices (CMD) in service deteriorate over time, they become unusable and, as a result, the UAV loses its control. Therefore, the article envisages the prevention of such an emergency situation, the control of the normal state of the metrological characteristics of measuring devices, the implementation of their automated calibration, and thus there is no need to apply similar devices as substitutes for CMD in UA.

The article describes the method of statistical planning of the experiment to determine the optimal composition of the charge in the production of ceramic products based on the Box-Behnken plan of K = 3 dimensions. A plan for conducting an active experiment was proposed, the coefficients of mathematical models were calculated, and the adequacy of the models obtained and the significance of the coefficients of the regression equations were verified. Ceramic products are one of the best quality buildings facing materials used in paving parks and recreation centers. Also, one of the solutions to the actual problem of saving heat consumption in residential buildings is the use of facing ceramic products with high thermal insulation properties. In modern times, as in all fundamental studies, a systematic approach is typical in the study of multicomponent ceramic materials. Such a systematic approach determines the study of the studied materials and objects both separately and in interaction with each other. Conducting such a systematic study of ceramic products is an important issue for more efficient organization of its production. A 2-component mixture of raw materials is usually used in the production of ceramic materials (bricks and tiling, ceramic pans with external coating) in the country. From this point of view, it is very important to systematically study the 3-component ceramic mass composition with modern methods.

Active inference helps us simulate adaptive behavior and decision-making in biological and artificial agents. Building on our previous work exploring the relationship between active inference, well-being, resilience, and sustainability, we present a computational model of an agent learning sustainable resource management strategies in both static and dynamic environments. The agent's behavior emerges from optimizing its own well-being, represented by prior preferences, subject to beliefs about environmental dynamics. In a static environment, the agent learns to consistently consume resources to satisfy its needs. In a dynamic environment where resources deplete and replenish based on the agent's actions, the agent adapts its behavior to balance immediate needs with long-term resource availability. This demonstrates how active inference can give rise to sustainable and resilient behaviors in the face of changing environmental conditions. We discuss the implications of our model, its limitations, and suggest future directions for integrating more complex agent-environment interactions. Our work highlights active inference's potential for understanding and shaping sustainable behaviors.

This paper aims to address the issue of the automatic selection of hyperparameters in the deep Q network (DQN) by investigating the influence of eight key hyperparameter indicators on the performance of three different improved DQNs. Our work examines the significance effect, main effect, and interaction effect of those hyperparameters. The goal is to explore how different hyperparameter settings affect the learning efficiency and performance of the improved DQN algorithms to find an effective automatic hyperparameter optimization strategy. The strategy simplifies the DQN models and enhances the efficiency and performance of the algorithms. We first select a set of hyperparameters with significant impacts on algorithm performance. Using an orthogonal experimental design, a multifactor experimental framework was constructed to explore optimal solutions under different combinations of hyperparameter levels. We then evaluated differences in hyperparameter sensitivity among different improved DQN algorithms. Significance analysis and sensitivity analysis were conducted for specific hyperparameters to reveal their main effects in different models and their interaction effects with each other. On the basis of these results, significant hyperparameters and combinations with interaction effects were retained in the model. Additionally, the levels of different hyperparameters were adjusted according to their sensitivity to enhance model stability. The proposed automatic hyperparameter optimization method provides empirical evidence for gaining insight into the relationships between the main effects and interaction effects of hyperparameters, as well as for developing effective hyperparameter optimization methods in reinforcement learning.

Social network recommendation systems play a crucial role in shaping user experiences by using graph neural networks and link prediction methods to tailor suggestions for new contacts. However, these systems are vulnerable to adversarial attacks orchestrated by malicious users using frameworks to manipulate recommendations artificially. In particular, frameworks such as SAVAGE have proven that conducting efficient and effective sparse vicious attacks on recommendation systems is possible. However, whether these adversarial systems remain effective and how much are impacted by the distance between the source and target nodes in the social network is unclear. This study investigates the impact of source-target path length on overall attack performance, revealing real-world applications such as social media friend/follower suggestions, where, for example, the source user may or may not share common connections with the target user and/or the friends of the target user. Analyzing a Twitter dataset, we found that SAVAGE outperforms other models, especially for longer source-target distances, with minimal impact on the network structure. These results make it highly relevant for real-world scenarios.

This article presents a parallel-distributed implementation of the Word2Vec algorithm for training word embeddings, a relevant problem in natural language processing. A client-server implementation is developed, adapted to execute on non-dedicated commodity clusters. The server implements load balancing to deal with different processing times of processes and nodes. The experimental evaluation of the developed implementation was performed on a commodity cluster of workstations, analyzing the performance for different problem instances and varying the number of computing resources. Accurate speedup values and a proper scalability behavior are reported.
