Speech emotion recognition (SER) is an essential part of human-computer interaction. Speech contains rich acoustic information, and it is difficult to accurately predict real emotions based on a single acoustic feature. This paper proposes a new SER model that utilizes multiple acoustic features and designs a novel fusion mechanism. Multiple speech features are first extracted: spectro-grams, MFCC, and raw speech waveforms, which are encoded separately using AlexNet encoder, LSTM encoder, and the emotion2vec model. Then, a fusion mechanism proposed in this paper is used to fuse these features to obtain the final emotion prediction. Experiments conducted on the IEMOCAP dataset demonstrate that our proposed model achieves competitive results, with 72.07% WA and 72.65% UA in the leave-one-session-out validation strategy, and 74.93% WA and 75.80% UA in the leave-one-speaker-out validation strategy.

With Virtual Reality technology becoming an increasingly popular method to convey knowledge, sound pedagogical principles are needed to implement Virtual Reality effectively in classrooms. This paper proposes a pedagogical model that provides guidelines for educational practitioners before, during, and after Virtual Reality instruction. For elucidation, concrete examples as well as generative learning tasks are provided. These are based on a Virtual Reality learning experience developed by greenpeace and its evaluation studies. Finally, some general strengths and weaknesses of the proposed model are discussed.

Considering Sentiment Analysis's importance, the Natural Language Processing (NLP) field has seen a surge in studies dedicated to this task. However, research efforts in Arabic Natural Language Processing haven't reached the same prominence as those in non-Latin alphabet languages. This discrepancy can be attributed to the specificity of the Arabic language and the limited availability of freely accessible lexical resources. Considering these challenges, our paper focuses on Sentiment Analysis in Modern Standard Arabic. We achieve this using pre-trained Arabic BERT models, specifically AraBERT, ALBERT, CAMeLBERT, AraELECTRA, and QARIB. Our approach was tested on the 100k reviews dataset and Arabic Moroccan Arabic corpus (MAC) dataset. Notably, with the MAC dataset, our proposed system atattains an accuracy of 96% when using the QARIB model, 93% when using AraBERT and 26% with CAMeLBERT. Regarding the 100k reviews dataset, the best accuracy of 93% was achieved when using AraBERT, followed by QARIB with an accuracy of 89% and lower accuracy was when using ALBERT with 39%. We compared the research results obtained through our approach with those of other leading methods, demonstrating the effectiveness of our methodology. These findings provide valuable insights for future enhancements in this field.

The intersection of Business Process Management (BPM) and Data Management is critical to improve process interoperability effectiveness. This paper provides a literature review on BPM and data-specific challenges that hinder process interoperability. For that purpose, it introduces the concept of Data Contracts to shift metadata that is typically managed in central data catalogues to the business processes that require this information in an encapsulated form. The research methodology consists of a systematic review of established BPM notations as well as of the development of a conceptual framework. The research goals are (1) to assess to which extent the elements of Data Contracts are covered in established BPM notations and (2) to build a foundation for future research on opportunities of BPM-integrated data contracts to improve effectiveness of process interoperability. The findings showthat established BPM languages include only a few elements of Data Contracts, such as relationships between data providers and data consumers. In addition, the conceptual framework indicates that Data Contracts are capable of overcoming data-specific challenges in order to improve process interoperability. Among others, the establishment of data standards between subjects could be fostered and costs connected to data processing could be reduced. The article concludes with a discussion on limitations and further research proposals on strategies to integrate and manage Data Contracts and BPM in business practice.

Speech is the most direct way of communication between people, but noise reduces the clarity and intelligibility of speech signals. Although some mono-channel speech enhancement (SE) systems have been successfully applied to suppress noise, designing a small-footprint multi-channel SE system is still challenging, especially under extremely low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In this paper, we use interaural phase differences (IPD) and fixed-beam spatial information to construct a novel lightweight multi-channel SE system to ensure both performance improvement and a small footprint. First, we combine the widely used mono-channel enhancement model DCCRN with multi-channel directional features to make it applicable to multi-channel tasks by using IPD. Second, we improve the model to make it applicable to multi-channel tasks. Moreover, the information provided by the microphone array can significantly improve the performance of the SE system. Second, we compress the number of parameters and implement the Parameterized Hypercomplex Multiplication (PHM) method to meet the demands of limited memory resources. Finally, the experimental results show that our proposed system not only achieves better front-end performance in a low SNR environment but also boosts the backend performance, like the accuracy in keyword spotting systems, which indicates the superior denoising ability and less distortion of our proposed model.

Process orientation has been established for decades and also plays an important role in the digital transformation of public authorities. In contrast to private companies, however, they face specific challenges due to their structures and objectives. These challenges include aspects such as transparency, external regulation and measurement against the benchmark of citizen performance. This paper examines the challenges and success factors in the introduction of business process management (BPM) in German public authorities. Specific insights were gained through a three-stage Delphi analysis with two selected experts from the public sector. The identified success factors are discussed along the 7S model. The role of existing organizational units and established processes can serve as a basis for the introduction of process orientation and a process-oriented view across systems requires special attention to interfaces, especially in cooperation with private and public institutions. Shared values are crucial for inter-organizational cooperation. Human resource aspects, including the recruitment of skilled staff and flexible pay structures, have a decisive influence on the success of process implementation in the public sector. In summary, the results of this article not only highlight challenges, but also offer BPM experts from the public sector environment many tried-and-tested approaches for their own work on process orientation.

Money laundering continues to present a significant challenge to financial systems worldwide, including Bangladesh, where existing anti-money laundering (AML) practices often fall short. Hence, this research paper proposes a comprehensive framework integrating Blockchain technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the AML efforts in Bangladesh's financial system. The study begins with a thorough review of current AML practices and identifies gaps in Bangladesh's approach to combating financial crime. It then introduces a theoretical framework explaining the synergistic benefits of combining AI and Blockchain technologies. AI's capacity to analyze vast amounts of transaction data and identify patterns that signify potential money laundering activities complements Blockchain's ability to maintain transparent and unalterable records of financial transactions. A secondary research approach includes annual reports, published papers, and other open sources. The proposed framework is evaluated through determining control variables deemed relevant in this context. By integrating Blockchain and AI, this research paper aims to provide a promising and sustainable solution to Bangladesh's persistent money laundering problem. In addition, this paper also offers insights into how advanced technologies like AI and Blockchain will strengthen AML measures to enhance the overall integrity of the financial system in Bangladesh.

This paper explores the challenges and opportunities in creating and using social multi-platform virtual reality to increase engagement and inclusion in a transformative learning workshop for post-secondary faculty. We studied the creation and use of three virtual learning environments and nine virtual learning artefacts in a gender diversity workshop for trades faculty to understand how the inclusion, creator, and subject matter expert communities are involved in creating and using virtual reality learning content. We document our community-design process for creating a virtual reality learning activity and evaluate its use with observational note-taking and informal interviews to capture nine themes around using virtual reality for transformative learning within social learning spaces. Our results suggest that the virtual reality learning activity was engaging and inclusive, showing potential as a transformative learning tool. Based on our findings, we propose a preliminary model for creating and using inclusive virtual reality within social learning spaces to guide future studies.

MPC techniques applied in power electronics have been categorized into two fundamental approaches: Continuous Model Predictive Control (CSS - MPC) and Finite State Model Predictive Control (FCS - MPC). The approach that FCS-MPC seeks is to use the power converter's finite number of switching states to solve the optimization problem. One of the advantages that predictive control provides is to include the nonlinearities of the converter and thus obtain the behavior of the variables for different switching states, but, on the contrary, its greatest disadvantage, and one of those that is most regularly sought to be solved, is its high switching frequency. In this work, a three-phase VSI is studied and controlled through FCS-MPC, considering its advantages and attacking its disadvantages. In this way, the switching frequency is reduced in a steady state, but in a transient state, the FCS - MPC is left in its natural state, obtaining greater power converter efficiency.

This paper is Methodology research of Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA) under machine learning-driven Classification Bayesian Neural Network. BCA is currently the predominant decision-making tool for corporate capital investment. Due to its inherent single-metric nature, BCA lacks complete quantifiability and responsiveness in terms of intangible benefits and ethics. In this paper the author presents how advanced AI scoring algorithm enables Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) approach to dissolve monetization failure issue stemming from ethical concerns in Benefit-CostAnalysis (BCA). In the current context of increasing emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), ethical considerations have become vital for businesses. Therefore, it is advisable to utilize machine learning leveraging the business big data to train more sophisticated and stable multi-dimensional decision-making models, then integrate them into the framework of BCA, thereby evolving the BCA methodology to overcome its drawbacks. The three main problems associated with BCA discussed are: (1) intangible value is difficult to monetize, and (2) human life-related benefits should not be monetized due to the ethical principle. And (3) the normative and distributional problem of BCA that cannot take into account both the efficiency criterion and the equity criterion in one decision-making process. For the three problems of BCA, author introduces a Bayesian Neural Network Scoring algorithm based Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to achieve Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) and explains why it can solve the above three problems that are difficult for BCA to handle solely. Furthermore, arguing the limitations of such AHP-MADM methodology and puts forward the improvement methods including the Expected Utility Theory [1], and VIKOR method based on "Prospect Theory" [2, 3] which allow each organization to have its own unique decision preferences.
