The COVID-19 pandemic created the need to educate the public on both its transmission and protection measures. science has confirmed that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is primarily airborne and transmitted mainly through respiratory particles. More specifically, larger particles are called droplets and settle out of the air within seconds after following a short trajectory. Smaller particles are called aerosols and can remain suspended in the air from minutes to hours travelling long distances depending on air currents. An immersive Augmented Reality (AR) application was developed for Magic Leap 1 AR glasses with the aim to visualize as a first person experience the airborne COVID-19 transmission route, in addition to the distinct behaviors of droplets vs. aerosols. Forty-eight educators empirically evaluated the AR application in terms of learning outcomes. The study also investigated the role of the AR particle's color, i.e., red or blue spherical shapes, on knowledge. A significant learning gain on virus transmission was identified using the pre and post-test method, which also revealed that the color of particles did not significantly affect participants' test scores. This suggests that both colors, red and blue, are equally effective in representing virtually observed particles for significant learning gains. Learning outcomes were not correlated with gender, age or self-reported awareness of COVID-19 transmission. The participants also commented on the pleasant nature of the activity and highlighted its experiential nature, since it made an invisible phenomenon much easier to understand, in terms of its transmission and protection measures.

This article presents BOUTEF, an original and comprehensive corpus of fake news. It encompasses content in Algerian and Tunisian dialects, Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), French, and English, featuring instances of code-switching between these languages. Moreover, for the Algerian and Tunisian dialects, we have preserved both Latin and Arabic scripts in the dataset. BOUTEF comprises over 3,600 fake news posts collected from various social media platforms spanning from 2010 to 2024. This corpus is developed as part of the TRADEF (https://***/tradef) project and is made available to the research community. Each fake news post in BOUTEF is associated with 16 attributes, providing rich contextual information. The data was gathered from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok, reflecting the diverse sources of misinformation. To enhance the depth of our analysis, we introduce a novel labeling scheme consisting of 40 categories. This scheme is developed through a thorough examination of the collected corpus, and we have also retained a tagging process inspired by Claire Wardle's categorization. BOUTEF not only contributes to the understanding of fake news in multilingual contexts but also provides valuable resources for further research in this domain.

Generating adversarial examples contributes to mainstream neural machine translation (NMT) robustness. However, popular adversarial policies are apt for fixed tokenization, hindering its efficacy for common character perturbations involving versatile tokenization. Based on existing adversarial generation via reinforcement learning (RL), we propose the 'DexChar policy' that introduces character perturbations for the existing mainstream adversarial policy based on token substitution. Furthermore, we improve the self-supervised matching that provides feedback in RL to cater to the semantic constraints required during training adversaries. Experiments show that our method is compatible with the scenario where baseline adversaries fail, and can generate high-efficiency adversarial examples for analysis and optimization of the system.

Semantic sentence similarity measures the degree of resemblance between multiple sentences. This similarity is a foundational element in information retrieval, machine translation, etc. This paper focuses on natural language processing techniques to analyze the semantic similarity in Hadiths, which are significant religious texts in Islam. Our objective is to investigate the extent of semantiv overlap between Hadiths across various topics, with the aim to provide insights into the cohesion and interconnectedness of Hadiths. We use AraVec and GPT embeddings to represent Hadiths numerically, followed by UMAP (Uniform Manifold Approximation & Projection) to project these embeddings to 2D. The projection serves to visually interpret the relationships between Hadiths, facilitating a deeper understanding of content and semantic interrelations. Our results unveil semantic clusters and connections within Hadiths, contributing to the exploration of Islamic textual heritage through modern computational methodologies. This study suggests that GPT outperforms AraVec, providing a more advanced representation that discerns intricate semantic relationships and subtle nuances within the Hadiths.

To investigate the developmental patterns of the learning of Putonghua (PTH) by preschool children from the Uygur ethnic group in kindergarten in South Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a speech corpus was established concerning the development of phonology and sentence structures of PTH. Regarding the phonological development, both segmental and prosodic development were examined. For segmental aspect, the production of monosyllabic and disyllabic words was elicited in a picture-naming task for PTH-learning preschoolers in the first (33 children) and second (66 children) year in kindergarten. For prosodic aspect, the production of broad focus with a statement intonation and the production of contrastive focus in different positions in a sentence with either a declarative statement intonation or a declarative question intonation was elicited in a two-task session, the question-and-answer task and the picture-guessing task, for PTH-learning preschoolers in the second (60 children) and third (60 children) year in kindergarten. In terms of the development of syntactic structures, the production of basic sentence structures of PTH was tested in a question-and-answer task for PTH-learning preschoolers (66 children) in the second year in kindergarten. And the mastery of basic sentence structures of PTH was also tested in a two-task session, the shadowing task and the picture-describing task, for PTH-learning preschoolers (84 children) in the third year in kindergarten. The speech samples collected can be contributed to exploring the mechanism of learning a second language during the preschool period and the relevant factors that influence second-language learning.

To be successful in traditional markets, established and historically grown companies must increasingly face disruptive market players. Tech-savvy, digital companies are influencing sectors such as the insurance industry using new technologies and approaches in areas such as data management and are increasingly acquiring customers through customized services and products. Established organizations must therefore adapt innovative concepts such as data mesh architectures as part of data democratization projects to remain competitive as a datadriven structure. Due to the lack of a universal methodology, this paper deals with the development of a framework for the introduction of data mesh architectures as a central component of a comprehensive data democratization initiatives. The methodology therefore includes reference modeling to develop a framework for data mesh integration and is supported by expert interviews from this paper's partner direct insurance company. As a result, this paper presents a holistic meta model as proposal for introducing data mesh architectures to various kinds of practical fields. The conclusions emphasize the iterative and incremental design of data mesh architectures and identify key aspects such as knowledge management, change management and organizational management as crucial for a successful implementation.

Current cycling analytics studies are limited to data about the eventual race results. This study searches how online commentary can be used to capture information about in-race dynamics by harnessing the power of large language models. The results show that the direct application of these models is already promising but not accurate enough to base end-to-end machine learning applications on the generated data. Our results show the tendency of these models to use information from previous queries in its generation step, which indicates data leakage and might hamper the scientific validation of approaches comparing various techniques. To capture overall rider behavior we suggest using graph representation learning. Our results indicate that this method is capable of identifying similar rider behavior, which to date was not yet feasible.

This paper examines the impact of Authenticator Assurance Levels (AAL) on user efficiency in authentication processes, aiming to balance security and usability. The central research question investigates how AAL levels influence user efficiency, particularly concerning the number of required "keys". Using S-BPM notation, the study offers insights into the authentication landscape through a subject- and process-oriented comparison. Considering how subjects handle authenticators, it's evident that an authenticator app may be preferable to a hardware key in certain contexts, as users are typically vigilant about their smartphones. The analysis concludes that higher AAL levels, like AAL3, offer a more streamlined authentication experience with fewer required "keys", aligning with users' daily interaction patterns and enhancing overall usability. Integrating these findings into cybersecurity practices can enhance multi-factor authentication methods, fostering a more secure and user-centric environment.

Furthermore, researchers can download from this platform some labelled corpora that we have used during the training and testing phases of these tools.

Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies are key drivers of digital transformation. This is why adopting I4.0 technologies is critical for companies to remain competitive. However, the adoption process requires careful planning, strategic decision-making, and a deep understanding of organizational needs and challenges. This paper aims to develop a comprehensive model that ensures the successful adoption of I4.0 technologies in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The data on which the model is based was collected using a variety of methods. Existing frameworks were reviewed by conducting a systematic literature review. The research group identified 25 fields of action that are categorized into the dimensions of Technology, Organization, Environment, and Expectations. A quantitative survey of 50 experts provided information on the relevance of these fields of action. Subsequently, meta-requirements and the resulting design principles were derived for the first prototype of the model. To gather insights on the prototype and research, six semi-structured expert interviews were conducted. The insights gained from the interviews will be taken into account in future research. The research provides SMEs with a model that addresses their specific technology adoption needs, facilitates their digital transformation, and enables them to realize the full potential of I4.0 technologies.
