Underwater optical images exhibit color distortion and hazy blurring effects due to complex changes in the underwater environment and the absorption and scattering characteristics of water. The traditional Transformer model pays equal attention to all regions of the processed image, which increases the number of models computations and easily leads to overfitting. To address these challenges, we designed a Transformer method based on an underwater light mask (LMT-UIE). The overall LMT-UIE we designed consists of two parts: the underwater light mask generation module (LGM) and the underwater light maskbased Transformer module (MTF). We designed the LGM to generate an underwater light mask to mitigate the effects of uneven underwater illumination. We design the MTF to utilize the underwater light mask for feature aggregation, which makes the Transformer focus more on the key information and enhances the model's comprehension of the underwater image. Furthermore, we introduce parallel attention in the MTF to improve the Transformer's local modeling ability as well as its generalization ability. The LMT-UIE method not only effectively mitigates the color distortion and blurring problems of underwater images but also has a stronger ability to extract and model key information, which significantly improves the performance improvement of underwater image enhancement tasks.

The seagull optimization algorithm (SOA) is a novel metaheuristic algorithm based on group behavior. However, since SOA suffers from slow convergence, insufficient population diversity, and easily falls into local optimality, a multi-mechanism seagull optimization algorithm (MSOA) that incorporates nonlinear convergence factors, nonlinear weights, evolutionary boundary constraint processing, and Gaussian mutation is proposed as a result. Meanwhile, to verify the signature of the algorithm's optimization-seeking effect, six excellent metaheuristic algorithms are selected for comparison based on 14 different features of the test functions. The experimental results show that MSOA not only has a higher optimization-seeking accuracy but also has a faster convergence speed and stronger robustness. In addition, a BP neural network classification model based on MSOA was designed using the iris dataset as the data source, and according to the experimental statistics, the BP neural network classification model improved by MSOA has practicality and effectiveness.

The present study focuses on the development and application of automatic trajectory systems for swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using artificial vision. Despite the growing interest and abundant literature in the field of UAVs and artificial vision, there is a significant gap in applied research, particularly in the practical implementation of these systems. A lack of experimental studies that allow direct comparisons and comprehensive measurements in physical environments is observed. The main objective of this research is to implement an automatic trajectory system using artificial vision in UAV swarms. To achieve this, a comprehensive analysis of existing literature on artificial vision strategies for object detection on routes will be carried out. Subsequently, an evasion algorithm subsystem will be developed to avoid collisions in the swarm's trajectory, using vision models based on Deep Learning and ArUco markers used in Python programming language libraries. Experimental tests will focus on evaluating flight time and evasion capacity in a controlled environment. These tests will validate the effectiveness of the implemented system, providing practical and applied knowledge in the field of UAV swarms, addressing the need for solutions for autonomous navigation.

The research aims to evaluate the impact of video games on the development of meaningful learning in mathematics among students in Regular Basic Education. The study utilized a quasi-experimental approach combined with a systematic review of existing literature. A structured design featuring a pretest and posttest with a one-month application period was implemented, during which three types of educational video games were used: Strategy, Adventure, and Simulation. The research involved 40 students, divided into four groups: three experimental groups and one control group, each consisting of ten students. The findings indicated a significant positive impact of video games on meaningful learning in mathematics, suggesting that video games can serve as an effective educational supplement rather than a primary pedagogical tool. However, the study also noted a lack of reliability due to difficulties in controlling each student's learning pace, and it highlighted potential ethical concerns associated with their use in education. In conclusion, while video games can enhance meaningful learning in mathematics, they should be integrated into a broader pedagogical strategy, rather than being relied upon as the sole method of teaching and learning.

The goal of this paper is to explore the relationship between various factors like smoking habits and diabetes history and the likelihood of developing heart disease. Using the heart disease dataset from the UCI Machine Learning Repository, this paper applies predictive analysis through building different models and methods. By examining the relationships between different attributes and the presence of heart disease, this paper aims to build a model that can predict heart disease risk based on patient attributes. In this paper we built predictive models using logistic regression, decision trees, support vector machines, random forests, and gradient boosting algorithms. Our findings showed that the Random Forest model emerged as the best performing model with high accuracy and robustness.

Navigating the dynamic hospitality landscape, premier hotels in India encounter a perpetual challenge: comprehending the intricate factors that drive guest satisfaction. While existing research provides broad insights, the nuances of the luxury segment are often overlooked. This study aims to bridge this gap by meticulously analyzing reviews from over a hundred premier hotels in major metro cities in India, focusing on the 5-star category. The research identifies seven key attributes influencing reviewer perceptions and reveals distinct patterns. Food Quality, Hotel Staff, and Service emerge as powerful predictors of both positive and negative sentiments, while Cleanliness and Comfort exhibit unique impacts. Through the application of logistic regression and sentiment analysis, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques such as tokenization, lemmatization, and VADER sentiment analysis on online reviews, this research quantifies the influence of each attribute. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of guest expectations and provide actionable insights for hotel management to tailor offerings and enhance guest experiences. This study significantly contributes to the ongoing discourse on customer satisfaction in the hospitality sector in India.

The paper poses the question whether regulation of AI applications can guarantee data sovereignty and fair treatment of individuals. A closer look at already existing regulations reveals that these lofty goals can hardly be achieved. Regulations mostly increase bureaucracy instead of increasing security or fairness. There are several reasons for this failure, which are highlighted in this paper.

In modern software development, the early detection of defects is critical for ensuring the reliability and quality of software systems. However, software defect prediction (SDP) poses significant challenges, mainly when dealing with heterogeneous datasets comprising different feature types. Heterogeneity in the data can lead to class imbalance and hinder the performance of traditional SDP models. The proposed model integrates Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) with Support Vector Machines (SVM) to predict software defects in heterogeneous datasets. The methodology involves several key steps: First, GANs are used to generate synthetic data samples to address class imbalance issues inherent in heterogeneous datasets. The synthetic, and original data are then utilized to train an SVM classifier, which is well-suited for handling complex data structures and providing robust predictions. The model's performance is evaluated using metrics such as precision and recall demonstrating its effectiveness in software defect prediction. The experimental results indicate that the GAN-SVM approach effectively manages heterogeneous datasets, significantly improving the precision and recall rates compared to traditional SDP models. Specifically, the model achieved a precision of 98.00% for the CM1 dataset and 99.00% for the KC1 dataset, along with recall rates of 98.00% and 99.00% for CM1 and KC1, respectively. These findings underscore the GAN-SVM model's robustness and superior performance in predicting software defects across diverse datasets. The proposed model offers significant improvements in precision and recall, providing valuable insights into the potential of combining these techniques for better defect prediction in software systems. Implementing GAN-SVM in software development pipelines could markedly improve defect prediction, aiding software engineers in maintaining high-quality systems.

In the health sector, social robots can assist employees in multiple tasks and motivate patients during their recovery. Both social robots and games are utilized as a great source of knowledge and entertainment, therefore their integration can be beneficial for healthcare. The primary objective of this study is to reviewthe use of social robots as game associates in the health sector. Thorough research was carried out in scientific databases. The selected studies were categorized according to target demographics, objectives, methods, techniques, robot details, and the details of games used in conjunction with the robots. The detailed analysis revealed that most used social robots were humanoid with game integration and that the target group generally consisted of children and elderly. It reveals the significance of social robots as facilitators, advisors, participants, or companions in game-related activities to motivate participants to increase different skills such as physiological and neurological skills.

The swift expansion of the information technology (IT) industry has led to a surge in compute-intensive and latency-sensitive applications. While cloud computing can satiate the demands of such applications, its centralized architecture may cause delays in the execution of tasks. To address such issues, edge computing brings computation closer to data sources. However, limited resources on Internet of things (IoT) devices make local execution quite challenging. Therefore, a pliable approach is to consider task offloading for moving heavy tasks to resource-extensive systems like edge/cloud. Osmotic computing, leveraging edge and cloud resources, aims to enhance IoT services. However, the dynamic nature of IoT, edge, and cloud introduces challenges for task offloading. This paper proposes an offloading algorithm using fuzzy logic to manage uncertainty. Furthermore, we introduce an osmotic decision manager (ODM) that employs fuzzy logic for optimized offloading decisions, considering IoT/edge for latency-sensitive tasks and cloud for latency-tolerant tasks. This algorithm aims to improve overall system performance by efficiently offloading tasks based on their specific requirements and constraints. The proposed algorithm undergoes simulation and assessment with diverse synthetic test cases to demonstrate its efficacy.
