To understand the assessment of the effect of big data management on organizational performance and decision-making a scale was developed. Based on primary data from 407 big data users across different firms in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, six dimensions or constructs that impact the relationship between big data management, decision-making, and company performance were proposed. The data for this investigation were analyzed using SMARTPLS software, and a survey was carried out. According to the survey, one of the most crucial areas for businesses to concentrate on ought to involve handling voluminous data since it gives a comprehensive understanding of the company, providing them with perspective, goals, and planning. The research's findings offer statistical proof of the beneficial relationship between big data management and decision-making and business performance. Indeed, a business that effectively handles big data may increase customer satisfaction, optimize marketing spending, forecast using information, save money, and lower risk.

Medical question classification is an important task in medical question data processing that can help medical Question answering (QA) systems to provide instant responses to users. However, medical questions frequently cover a wide of areas while medical QA systems may not be able to process such complex questions effectively, leading difficulties for users to find accurate and relevant answers. There may also be a data imbalance issue in the distribution of medical question categories, causing medical QA systems may not able to provide accurate answers when faced with questions trained in categories containing small numbers of samples. The Chinese Diabetes Question Classification task aims to automatically classify questions posed by patientusers as a way to help QA systems manage complex knowledge structures in the medical domain, as well as to improve the classification performance of lowfrequency categories of questions by finetuning or domainspecific training on fewersample categories to enhance the capabilities of automated medical QA systems. It also benefit users for easier access to actual and highquality medical knowledge. This shared task was organized with an international conference NCAA 2024, which attracted professional researchers from industry and academia. This paper presents the results of the Chinese Diabetes Question Classification Competition, providing an overview and summary of the technical approaches used by the competition.

This paper comprehensively analyzes objective functions used in feature selection, a critical aspect of machine learning. We conducted a systematic literature review, categorizing objective functions into single-objective and multi-objective, with further classification into pure and weighted multi-objective functions. Our study spans research from 2019 to 2023, analyzing 161 articles. We found that weighted multi-objective functions are most prevalent, highlighting their efficacy in balancing model performance and complexity. This work offers a detailed classification of these functions, contributing to a deeper understanding of their role and effectiveness in feature selection challenges. Our findings illuminate trends and preferences in objective function usage, providing valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in machine learning.

The bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a crucial crop for global food security;thus, grain quality plays a meaningful role in the supply chain. Traditional classification involves the manual evaluation of parameters such as length, width, weight, and inaccuracies. However, this manual approach presents challenges in terms of efficiency and subjectivity, as it can be slow due to human errors. This study aims to identify bean grain varieties in terms of their shape by using a machine learning algorithm approach. A database of 3,820 grains from three types-INIAP-420 (1,320), INIAP-422 (1,200), and INIAP-425 (1,300)-was used, containing 7 morphological shape variables. For the analysis of these variables, classification models were created using Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), and k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) with 10fold cross-validation, and performance metrics were compared. Overall correct classification rates were determined to be 86.65%, 93.12%, 90.39%, and 87.58% for RF, SVM, MLP, and k-NN, respectively. TheSVM classification model, which showed the highest accuracy results, classified the bean types INIAP-420, INIAP-422, and INIAP-425 with 97.72%, 98.33%, and 97.46%, respectively. Based on the achieved performance measurement values, it can be concluded that the study successfully classified bean grain varieties.

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a classic algorithm in the field of swarm intelligence. Despite its widespread use, PSO faces challenges in complex optimization scenarios, particularly its propensity for falling into local optima and slow convergence. Comprehensive learning particle swarm optimization (CLPSO) has enhanced PSO's global search capabilities by introducing a comprehensive learning mechanism. This study presents further enhancements by proposing the dual population adaptive strategy comprehensive learning particle swarm optimization (DPAS-CLPSO), which combines a dual population framework with an adaptive learning paradigm to increase population heterogeneity and algorithm search efficiency. Experimental results on the CEC2017 standard benchmark tests have shown that DPAS-CLPSO significantly outperforms several well-known algorithms in both 30D and 50D problem spaces. Lastly, the effectiveness of the algorithm in solving complex optimization problems is also underscored by statistical validation through rank sum tests.

This paper presents the integration of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with Large Language Models (LLMs) to support supply chain management and financial decision-making. RAG combines effective retrieval process with Generative neural-based language models to improve data privacy and expand knowledge. The proposed dual-module system consists of a retrieval module and a generation module that retrieves generation as the process of generating contextual response. Contextual analysis and contextual generation achieved via iterative chunk retrieval and optimization. Contextualized visual analytics, predictive analytics supported by chunk retrieval and optimization help achieve data-driven forecasting and inventory planning supply chain as well as data-driven insights for financial reporting. An analysis set including balance sheet analysis evaluates the effectiveness of the RAG system through recursive retrieval and multi-hop questioning and generative and retrieval module integration. The results show that RAG can contribute to disrupting the supply chain and finance process for increased agility, resilience, and added data privacy. The implication includes data-driven forecasting, inventory, supplier risk assessment, and financials. However, RAG should consider counter exploitation and ethical evaluation. The next steps should include scalable and advanced metrics evaluation and interdisciplinary research between machine learning, retrieval systems, supply chain, and finance.

High-performance computing is pivotal for processing large datasets and executing complex simulations, ensuring faster and more accurate results. Improving the performance of software and scientific workflows in such environments requires careful analysis of their computational behavior and energy consumption. Therefore, maximizing computational throughput in these environments, through adequate software configuration and resource allocation, is essential for improving performance. The work presented in this paper focuses on leveraging regression-based machine learning and decision trees to analyze and optimize resource allocation in high-performance computing environments based on application's performance and energy metrics. Applied to a bioinformatics case study, these models enable informed decision-making by selecting the appropriate computing resources to enhance the performance of a phylogenomics software. Our contribution is to better explore and understand the efficient resource management of supercomputers, namely Santos Dumont. We show that the predictions for application's execution time using the proposed method are accurate for various amounts of computing nodes, while energy consumption predictions are less precise. The application parameters most relevant for this work are identified and the relative importance of each application parameter to the accuracy of the prediction is analysed.

ATakagi-Sugeno (T-S) Target Recognition Algorithm Based on Global Intuitionistic Fuzzy Method (TS-GIFM) is presented to enhance the recognition of aerial targets in complex environments. In this paper, to realize the effectiveness of the model's training process, we categorize the distinctive features of aerial targets as inputs for the intuitionistic T-S target recognition model. Then, the intuitionistic fuzzy theory and the ridge regression are employed in the consequent parameter identification to construct a robust regression system. Additionally, global intuitionistic fuzzy C-regression clustering is implemented to obtain the premise parameters and mitigate the influence of non-informative data items. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that TS-GIFM effectively recognizes typical aerial targets in aerial target recognition environments, outperforming other methods in aerial target recognition.

In the United States, renal complications rank eighth as the most common cause of death, creating waiting lists approaching 100 000 people, with only around 25 000 accessing kidney transplants. Faced with the challenge of meeting the total demand for necessary kidneys, renal exchange programs involving donors, recipients, and altruists have emerged, aiming to establish exchanges with chains or shortened cycles for logistical reasons. With the increasing prevalence of these exchanges and programs in both the United States and Europe, this paper presents a genetic algorithm designed to address them. This strategy is conceived to tackle larger instances, overcoming the limitations of conventional mathematical models reported in the literature. The application of this metaheuristic provides an effective and scalable solution, improving kidney allocation in the context of high demand and logistical constraints, offering responses to instances that cannot be addressed exactly.
