With the constantly evolving agricultural environment, farmers need timely information relevant to their context to make informed decisions. Although several digital solutions have been introduced to address this requirement, these disregard farmers' context in providing information, including information quality. To address this gap, we developed a chatbot in this study incorporating the latest advances in computing techniques. We created an architecture to harness current Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities, including knowledge modeling, to deliver context-specific information to users through questions and answers. The context was established from previous interactions in the form of a dialogue. Neo4J graph database was used to create the knowledge base, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of contextual information. LLM was used to convert user queries into Cypher queries and to transform knowledge base responses into natural language. A sanitiser module was developed to verify the accuracy of the Cypher queries generated through LLM, significantly enhancing the system's overall reliability. The primary evaluation proved that transitioning from a traditional document-based format to a question-and-answering format and then to a dialogue-based format significantly enhances farmers' ability to access the desired information effectively and promptly.

This paper focuses on investigating the performance of vehicular networks employing non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), wherein a base station (BS) situated roadside communicates with a pair of vehicles containing multiple antennas. To enhance the performance, maximal ratio combining technique is employed at the vehicles, leveraging diversity gain. Real-world scenarios, however, often deviate from the assumption of identically distributed channels between the BS and vehicles, impacting the expected system performance. To provide practical insights, the paper derives closed-form expressions for channel density functions, outage probability (OP), and ergodic rate of NOMA vehicular networks under independent and not necessarily identically distributed channels (INID). The analysis also incorporates the impact of time-selective fading to model the mobility of vehicles. Performance of the system is further analyzed through outage performance, rate, and sum-rate performance metrics at varying speeds of vehicles and decaying parameters of non-identically distributed channels. Simulations are conducted to validate the presented results. Additionally, the NOMA is compared with orthogonal multiple access (OMA) for vehicular networks. Numerical results confirm the superiority of NOMA over OMA under both independent and identically distributed (IID) and realistic INID channel conditions, emphasizing the robustness of NOMA across different vehicle speeds and non-uniform channel distributions.

Zero-shot learning (ZSL) directs the challenge of classifying unseen test images without explicit training on those samples. ZSL can identify and classify unlabeled images available in abundance by learning from visual and semantic embedding vectors (feature vectors). information-enriched visual features extracted from images play a crucial role in ZSL. This paper proposes a hybrid feature approach that integrates low-level (LL), and high-level (HL) features extracted from images. Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) and Gabor features are employed to obtain LL texture features, while HL features are derived from the ResNet-50 model, renowned for capturing complex hierarchical representations. These hybrid visual features are then mapped with semantic features using linear mapping, where the semantic features are embedding vectors of labels generated by the fastText model. Experiments on the AWA2 and SUN datasets are conducted in a bid to evaluate the proposed approach's effectiveness. The hybrid feature approach has demonstrated enhanced quality in zero-shot image classification, effectively classifying images that the model has not seen during training.

Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQAs) have emerged as a promising approach to leverage the capabilities of quantum computing, even within the constraints of limited qubits and noise. Understanding their iterative process, including their cost landscapes, is necessary to optimize these algorithms. This landscape represents the interplay between the algorithm's parameters and the cost function, offering a visualization of the challenges for the optimization process. Regions known as barren plateaus and narrow gorges can impede optimization algorithms by causing gradients to vanish, leading to stalled optimization processes. Recognizing and devising strategies to circumvent these severe problems is essential for designing VQAs. For this purpose, we provide an overview of local and global metrics to support the understanding of the VQA cost landscape. Moreover, our results may serve as a baseline for further research on cost landscapes.

Based on the financial data of domestic A-share listed firms from 2000 to 2022, this paper aims to explore the effectiveness of machine learning in identifying the financial risk of Chinese A-share listed manufacturing firms. To this end, a variety of machine learning models, including logistic regression, decision tree, random forest, XGBoost, SVM, and LSTM, are used to assess the financial risk of enterprises, and the key attributes of enterprise financial risk are extracted through the interpretability exploration and importance coefficient measurement. From this paper, the following conclusions are drawn: (i) XGBoost model performs the best on all attributes, showing its strong ability in dealing with complex financial datasets, and LSTM, which adds time-series factors, performs poorly, which is speculated that it may be related to the incompatibility of the characteristics of the financial data, the reliance on the time-series features, and the need for financial fine features. (ii) Audit opinion, Net Profit and ROA are key influencing factors.

This work presents a bibliographic review on sustainability indicators for tourist destinations, using the Scopus database to identify pertinent papers. A comprehensive statistical analysis is carried out using the Scopus online analysis tool and the VOSviewer software. The analysis includes 321 scientific papers published from 2001 to 2024. A citation analysis reveals the temporal evolution of publications and subject areas studied over this period, identifying distinct time periods and a noteworthy surge in relevant publications in recent years. Additionally, co-citation analysis unveil the organizational structure of the scientific field, highlighting networks and groupings that constitute the knowledge base in tourism sustainability. Moreover, a co-occurrence term analysis determines the conceptual structure and anticipates future cognitive trends in this discipline.

UAVs are nodes that can fly autonomously or can be operated remotely. The clustering of UAVs forms what is known as a FANET network. In a FANET the nodes mobility is much higher than in a MANET which results in more frequently changes in the network topology. Consequently, the broadcasting of packets are also expected to be executed more frequently which can cause redundancy, contention, and collision of packets, also known as the Broadcast Storm Problem (BSP). In this work, we propose the integration of artificial intelligence techniques to the analysis of the retransmission packets in a FANET. In this regard, various models commonly used in telecommunications networks were trained. As a result, an AI-based protocol that reduces the BSP problem is presented. Specifically, the AI-based protocol selects between two hybrid BSP reduction models. The results show that the proposal is meaningful in achieving greater efficiency in the retransmissions savings and thus in the energy consumption.

This paper presents a Digital Twin (DT) model designed to address the process of coordinating distributed maintenance activities of resource-constrained Power Systems with green energy integrated, employing Machine Learning (ML) for model calibration and Heuristic Optimization (HO) to solve the underlying coordination process. The model integrates real-time operational data collected by a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and centralized in a Structured Query Language (SQL) database. The model performs predictive and prescriptive analyses to minimize convergence risks between maintenance planning, historical system degradation, and operating capacity, over a predefined time horizon, by merging all underlying processes into a single and intuitive risk indicator estimated via the Monte Carlo method, and by using a digital representation of all interconnected modeled processes in MATLAB, but also integrating Python packages into the modeling methodology. Here, the paper mainly describes the role of the DT framework in addressing this solution in practical terms and lists all components modeled with the corresponding link to the operating data. The Power System used as a case study includes a wide matrix of green energy sources and the associated resource constraint of each primary energy source considered.

Recent research in network management and the enhancement of network security efficiency has seen a widespread use of traffic classification and clustering The increasing use of the Internet and the development of protocols and applications have also made research in the field of traffic classification highly relevant. Vulnerability assessments and penetration testing are determine the security posture of modern information networks. By assessing university network vulnerabilities and attempting to exploit found vulnerabilities through penetration testing security specialists are able to evaluate the effectiveness of their network defenses by identifying defense weaknesses, affirming the defense mechanisms in place. The purpose of this article is to determine the main tasks of penetration testing monitoring, investigate methods for vulnerability network traffic, and explore intellectual analysis methods used for penetration testing monitoring. Also, analyzing the of an penetration testing monitoring system capable of integrating components and methods to transmit information within a specified timeframe, detect interventions, control the development of events, identify, categorize, and effectively use modern security tools is envisaged.

This article presents a study on predicting student attendance to exams in a university setting. The study focused on the Concept of Algorithms, Data, and Programs course, a foundational course in systems bachelor. Two models were constructed: linear regression and polynomial regression of degree 3, aimed to predict the total number of attendees and the number of students who would pass the exam. We built a dataset that included information on student enrollment, previous exam attendance, grades, and other relevant factors. Students were classified into three groups: reduced exam, complete exam with prior attendance, and complete exam without prior attendance. The results showed that the models' predictions were accurate enough, and that they could be used to ensure appropriate classroom occupancy without overcrowding or empty rooms. The models guided the allocation of students, optimizing space utilization while providing available seats for attending students. The study identified opportunities for improvement. One limitation was the assignment of attendance probabilities to achieve the overall predicted attendance. Future work could involve predicting attendance rates for each group individually. Additionally, implementing a classification model to categorise students into pass, fail, insufficient, and non-attendance groups would provide a more comprehensive understanding of student outcomes.
