Mobile devices have become an indispensable part of everyday life for most people and have improved our lives in many ways, offering a multitude of possibilities through the various available applications. On one hand, the risks around information privacy on mobile devices become more and more challenging. On the other hand, users are called to analyse and take plenty of complex privacy decisions. There have been many attempts to overcome this burden from users by automating the process of granting permissions to ap-plications. This study provides a literature review on works for predicting users' privacy decisions in application requests. Our research aims to shed light on the different factors that have been identified in the literature as important predictors of users' decisions on app requests, as well as the methods that have been used, focusing on machine learning approaches and building user privacy profiles.

The cyber terrain contains devices, network services, cyber personas, and other network entities involved in network operations. Designing a method that automatically identifies key network entities to network operations is challenging. However, such a method is essential for determining which cyber assets should the cyber defense focus on. In this paper, we propose an approach for the classification of IP addresses belonging to cyber key terrain according to their network position using the PageRank centrality computation adjusted by machine learning. We used hill climbing and random walk algorithms to distinguish PageRank's damping factors based on source and destination ports captured in IP flows. The one-time learning phase on a static data sample allows nearreal-time stream-based classification of key hosts from IP flow data in operational conditions without maintaining a complete network graph. We evaluated the approach on a dataset from a cyber defense exercise and on data from the campus network. The results show that cyber key terrain identification using the adjusted computation of centrality is more precise than its original version.

This article presents an examination of the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within lean manufacturing processes across the transformative phases of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0. The study focuses on how AI intersects with smart manufacturing, sustainability, metaheuristics, human factors, industry 4.0, and digitalization. It highlights the significant applications of AI in improving maintenance optimization, production efficiency, and quality improvement within lean manufacturing settings. The researchers conducted a swift overview of literature using the SCOPUS database to identify relevant articles through structured keyword searches. The results, presented in a comprehensive table, advocate for more research on integrating sustainable and human-centered manufacturing practices to ensure that technological advancements benefit both productivity and the well-being of human workers.

Simulation Study for Evaluating Efficiency of McPhail Traps in Olive Groves 1

Olive tree production has been of paramount importance to nutrition and culture since the early fifth millennium B.C. The most serious pest of olive groves is the olive fruit fly, known as Bactrocera Oleae or Dacus Oleae, which can lead to loss of production up to 80-90%. Nowadays, measuring the olive fruit fly's population in the olive groves is key to most pest control strategies. Accordingly, herein, a simulation of olive fruit fly's population dynamics is presented. Initially, the simulation focuses on the correlation between the ratio of captured olive fruit flies in bait traps in relation to the entirety of population (Trap Efficiency). Subsequently, field and its factors were added in the simulation, such as the ratio of olive fruit flies captured in the traps in relation to flies within the trap's attraction area (Capture Rate), crops' variation, and temperature. The simulation's results initially indicated a correlation between Trap Efficiency and Capture Rate based on previous field experiments, as well as a significant correlation between Trap Efficiency and field Temperature, using various Capture Rates. These results lead towards a contemporary tool for the estimation of olive fruit fly population as well as, by use of regression, the identification of a model that provides trap efficiency estimation for future pests' traps.

Many companies operating in an Engineering-to-Order environment are under constant pressure to manage the complexity of production planning. This paper deals with the case study of a company offering highly customized products that are modular buildings. To support tactical production planning and capacity allocation, this paper formulates the production planning problem as a Preemptive Resource Constrained Multi-project Scheduling Problem and proposes two mathematical formulations to solve it. The first presented formulation performs preemption using continuous activity splitting whilst the second permits discontinuous energy distribution. With the presented formulations we aimed to curtail resultant makespans and delays of all set projects. Resource capacities are defined as accumulated weekly working hours of available and similar skills. We evaluated the performance of the proposed formulations, in terms of solving time and makespan, using three real-world datasets. Our findings indicate that the formulation using discontinuous energy allocation outperforms the formulation offering more control on the sub-activities.

Measuring productivity, particularly at the individual employee level, has significant implications for organizational success, such as the standardization and guidance of employee behavior. Although various statistical methods have been applied to measure overall productivity, an alternative approach that considers intricate individual-organizational relationships and data availability to develop a robust measurement model is required. To address this gap, this study adopts the Shapley value concept from cooperative game theory to quantify individual productivity in the service industry. By treating the contribution to hourly revenue as the expected marginal contribution of each employee, two methods are proposed for the different data structures available. Through simulations, these methods are compared with other statistical methods. The results indicate the feasibility and efficacy of the Shapley value approach for accurately measuring individual productivity with satisfactory levels of accuracy, stability, and practicality.

The Circular Economy is one of the promising solutions to address environmental challenges, such as climate change, resource depletion, pollution, and waste. However, the implementation of the Circular Economy remains limited due to economic and financial barriers. This paper proposes to overcome these barriers by designing a decision support system for hyperconnected circular supply chain network design, leveraging opportunities offered by collaborative networks and the Physical Internet. A methodology inspired by Herbert Simon's decision-making theory is developed, including the intelligence, design, choice, and implementation phases. Specifically, a matrix for strategic options is proposed to elaborate scenarios for the design phase. A case study on the electric retrofit of Internal Combustion Engine vehicles illustrates the proposed methodology.

Contemporary Deep Learning models demand substantial volumes of data to effectively learn, creating a challenge given the difficulty of obtaining well-annotated data. Moreover, not all samples within a dataset are of equal significance to the learning process. Active Learning emerges as a solution to this issue by providing a structured framework for selecting the most instructive data within a dataset. This approach involves isolating a subset of the N most informative samples to train the algorithm effectively. In response to this challenge, we introduce Unfiltered Informativeness, a novel framework designed to assess the informativeness value of samples within a dataset. Our approach employs a trained detector to identify objects in a scene and subsequently computes the information gain of these objects. When multiple objects are present within a scene, we aggregate multiple scores into a single informative score. We systematically evaluate our approach against Random Sampling and other strategies.

Supply Chain (SC) visibility is becoming increasingly critical for supply chains to evolve, given the growing amount of disruptions and increase in SC complexity. In this study, we aim to understand what is the state of SC visibility in Portuguese companies, and what are the reasons for this state. We have conducted a survey that was answered by 57 Portuguese companies. We then conducted a quantitative analysis on the results. The results indicate that 65% to 80% of companies have some degree of visibility, but that, in most cases, this is not done in an autonomous way. Investment has been made on data collection and storage infrastructure, but not in its analysis. The reasons for this state are more technical in nature, such as low digitalization maturity. Companies would like SC visibility to allow for better planning and client relationships. However, little attention is paid to the potential of SC visibility for dealing with disruptions in the SC.
