As cyberattacks increase yearly, the ongoing scarcity of cybersecurity professionals and lack of knowledge about digital forensics (DF) are substantial challenges for organizations. One potential solution to mitigate the severe implications of cyberattacks is to increase DF. This work introduces a serious game called Digital Detectives, designed to educate students about DF activities and raise awareness for non-specialist employees. Players take on the role of a DF investigator tasked with probing a cyberattack on a fictional company. Players acquire practical knowledge, awareness, and skills through gamified evidence collection, attacker identification, tool usage, and data recovery. The game features AI-generated graphics and enables players to explore various places to gather evidence. Collecting items and engaging with mini-games, such as analyzing network activity, immerses learners in an interactive setting. The serious game's objective is to promote an understanding of the DF profession, thereby aiding in future investigations and cultivating awareness of behaviors that could contribute to security breaches. We evaluated the serious game with 36 students and found a significant increase in knowledge about DF and cybersecurity awareness. Simply put, Digital Detectives is a valuable tool to educate students in forensics and raise awareness for employees.

Cybersecurity has become a global security priority in recent years. Many African countries have embarked on important efforts to improve their cybersecurity posture in all sectors, including education. The increased use of information communication technologies by educators implies a greater exposure to cyber threats and risks prompting the need for cybersecurity to become a priority for schools. Cyber threats and risks have the potential to disrupt school operations and compromise the safety of learners, educators, administration staff, parents, and the surrounding community. The way respective stakeholders engage with cybersecurity and respond to cybersecurity intervention will, to an extent, depend on their perspective of the phenomena. There is paucity on literature on African educators' perspectives on cybersecurity as a starting point. This study aims at answering the question: What are perspectives on cybersecurity of educators in resource-constrained schools in South Africa? The study used a qualitative exploratory case study methodology. Data was collected through in-depth and semi-structured interviews from four schools in the Western Cape and Limpopo provinces;these represent an affluent and a rural province. It was analysed using thematic analysis based on the Social Cognitive Theory. Findings suggest that when it comes to cybersecurity, educators' self-efficacy is low, and their outcome expectancy is negative. Their socio-structural environment does not provide enough support to boost their confidence due to their exposure to ICTs, cybersecurity awareness, and available resources. The more a school is resource-constrained, the less educators prioritise cybersecurity. The study contributes to cybersecurity in education by shedding light on the cybersecurity perspectives of educators in resource-constrained schools in South Africa to pave the way for initiatives that cultivate a culture of cyber safety.

With the rise of digital technologies, more personal data from children is collected than ever before. Studies have shown that parents frequently fail to effectively protect their children's online data, often inadvertently putting them at risk instead. Previous research has therefore highlighted a pressing need for new privacy literacy training aimed at parents. However, to our knowledge, research has so far failed to investigate the design requirements necessary for the efficacy of these new programmes. This study aims to address this gap by pairing the perspectives of parents and media educators on privacy literacy training. Through qualitative and exploratory studies, parents and media educators were interviewed to gain insights into how privacy education approaches can be enhanced. The findings illuminate the disparities and concurrences between these two cohorts, thereby unveiling areas that require improvement. This research significantly contributes to the understanding of how to design more effective privacy literacy training for parents in order to protect children's privacy online.

The growing concern for sustainability and the development of new technologies have made the electric vehicle one of the solutions and alternatives for global mobility. However, the increase in sales of these vehicles also impacts the amount of lithium-ion batteries produced, which encompass rare mineral extraction processes. Therefore, the concept of circular economy has been explored and applied by organizations, aiming to close the product life cycle, reduce the demand for resources and improve the supply chain. Through a single case study, the objective of this paper is to identify the drivers and barriers in the implementation of the circular economy for lithium-ion batteries used in electric cars. To this end, semi-structured interviews were conducted with three employees of a car manufacturer located in Brazil. From the content analysis, thirteen drivers and sixteen empirical barriers were identified. The unavailability of national technology and qualified suppliers for the implementation of the second and third use of batteries were identified as the main barriers. Regarding the drivers, objectives and strategies of the organization and regulations (governmental and environmental) were highlighted as the main boosters. We believe such results can help those organizations that intend to apply the circularity model to electric vehicle batteries to anticipate drivers and barriers and hence explore the opportunities presented in this study.

In the dynamic and rapidly advancing digital era, leaders bear a crucial responsibility to steer our worlds to a better place. Spiritual leadership (SL) is today gaining prominence as an alternative leadership approach in an increasingly digital world, particularly for its ability to align ethical values and human-centric principles with the technological and strategic demands of digital transformation (DT) in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). In this study, we extend the traditional focus of ICT4D from business, social and organisational models to include the role of leadership practices to leverage digital technology. The study, therefore, performed a bibliometric scoping review on the confluence between SL and DT. The key results from 188 publications reveal that DT is primarily studied through a technocentric lens and much less from the leadership view. The continents of Africa, North and South America have not engaged much with SL/DT. There is limited collaboration between countries. DT necessitates reevaluating organisational leadership, moving from classical models to approaches that emphasise human and ethical dimensions. This shift aligns with a growing focus on SL and behavioural psychology in management. The pervasive impact of DT across various sectors underscores its role as a global trend, necessitating adaptive strategies across industries. The study contributes to ICT for Development (ICT4D) and DT literature in charting an alternative approach to the role of digital technology in human and social development. The study also makes recommendations for further research.

This study aimed to map the evolution and impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in diabetes prediction research from 2013 to 2023. Utilizing Scopus database records, a bibliometric analysis was conducted on documents featuring AI and diabetes prediction keywords. The analysis used the Bibliometrix and VOSviewer tools to evaluate research publication trends, author collaboration, and keyword co-occurrence in the application of AI in diabetes prediction. Data screening, focusing on specific terms in titles and abstracts, ensured the relevance of the documents. The study included diverse document types and subject areas, reflecting the field's multidisciplinary nature. The findings revealed a significant annual growth rate of 84.86% in AI applications for diabetes prediction, with 1 498 documents from 802 sources highlighting strong scholarly interest. A peak in citation impact in 2018 marks key contributions and diverse research themes in that year. International co-authorship, notably from the USA, India, China, and Saudi Arabia, underscores extensive collaboration. Thematic analysis points to focal areas like ophthalmology in diabetes-related complications and identifies central topics and emerging trends, including the Internet of Things. The bibliometric review highlights a significant interdisciplinary expansion in AI research applied to diabetes prediction, with a marked increase in global collaborations and contributions. The study underscores the importance of AI in enhancing diabetes diagnostics and management, indicating a promising trajectory for future research, healthcare policy, and clinical practice. The evolution of AI, particularly machine learning, in diabetes prediction, demonstrates the potential for innovative solutions in managing this chronic condition.

Increasing vehicle emissions are major causes of global warming which is the most serious threat to human life. To alleviate this process, the Netzero regulations enforce car manufacturers and encourage the population to shift from gasoline- to Electric vehicles. AlthoughEVusage is unprecedently amplified, existing uncertainty in the supply chain of batteries of electric vehicles (BEVs) endangers EV's future market. For example, the scarcity of battery minerals, and the vagueness of supply chain parameters like costs. Reverse logistics in the BEVs supply chain can cope with the shortage of raw materials, and fuzzy theory is a promising approach to handle the vagueness. This study aims to put forward a fully fuzzy multi-Objective mathematical model by considering the uncertainty to optimize the BEVs closed-loop supply chain according to sustainable development principles in Canada. To do so, three objective functions are developed. Two objective functions maximize the profits of all supply chain players and service levels. The last one minimizes environmental impacts. Eventually, the model obtains the optimal amount of material flow, as decision variables, between all components of the supply chain.

Appropriate maintenance support for products throughout their lifecycle is required to realize a sustainable circular society. For this purpose, we are developing a part agent system to support the lifecycle of individual parts. A part agent is a network agent provided for each part that monitors the state of the part, manages the related information on the part, and advises its user on its maintenance. The part agent performs a short-term lifecycle simulation of the corresponding part to estimate its prospective states and select preferable maintenance actions. The product information on which the lifecycle simulation is performed requires not only the shape, assembly, and kinematic information but also the information on the product's behavior, including deterioration and deviation. In this paper, a product model that represents such information for the lifecycle support of products is proposed. Example applications of the model for the part agent include the lifecycle simulation of a simple manipulator and the generation of display information to support users disassembling a product.

Companies are continuously trying to deliver products on time. However, traditional tools such as product lifecycle management, critical path method, and program evaluation and review technique cannot predict product development span time with reasonable accuracy. Product development involves large, multidisciplinary teams designing complex, interdependent systems;so, predicting span time is challenging. We have modelled product development microactivities to predict project span time and effort. The model uses a knowledge perspective where the difference between product knowledge requirements and designer knowledge capability drives product development speed. We simulate both process tasks and team behaviour, which are influenced by product complexity, development process complexity, and the difficulty of both technical and interface design. Our method predicts span time and effort at the start of a project or at any point during the development process as conditions change. It can also identify specific bottlenecks and poor levels of designer performance.

Research suggests that over a quarter of children aged 11-15 years old have already been a victim of a phishing attack. However, this threat has received limited attention in cybersecurity education aimed at children. Within this topic area this paper reports on the use of CyberSprinters UK government resources to educate school children. To understand the effectiveness of these resources we conducted an action research project with a class of 10-12 years old children. We discuss the experience of delivering the phishing lesson and examine the activities conducted with the children. Our results provide insight into children's ability to identify typical features of phishing emails, messages, and phone calls. The lessons learnt suggest areas around incorporating children's voice, cultivating teacher confidence, and engaging parents which could further enhance education.
