Network reconfiguration is a process to redesign the topology of the network by selective switching ON or OFF of the sectionalizing as well as tie switches in order to alter power flow from distribution substation to consumers. The primary goal of reconfiguration is load balancing, though it also a way to reduce the system’s active power loss. Reconfiguration may also lead to the improvement of system reliability. In this paper, the Teaching-learning Based Optimization (TLBO) method is applied to reconfigure a radial network having minimal power loss with adequate system reliability. 33-bus IEEE RDS is considered as the test system. The power loss occurred in the network is calculated using the Gauss-Seidel load flow method. Reliability assessment of the reconfigured system is done by computing the performance indices, namely SAIFI, CAIDI, SAIDI, and AENS, and results are compared with that of the original test system. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The term "Peer-to-Peer" (P2P) refers to a computer network model whose elements (nodes or "peers") are both clients and servers during exchanges. With the evolution of P2P, users express the need of exchanging resources in the shortest possible time, which encouraged the development and optimization of many of resource (data) search mechanisms in order to offer a good quality of research. In this field, we find lookup mechanisms based on data popularity. However, the routing of P2P requests and the methods used for estimating popularity of shared files can generate communication redundancy and unnecessary network traffic. Therefore, the objective of this work is to develop a P2P lookup mechanism that estimates popularity of shared data and uses it in order to increase the search success rate and reduce the lookup path without generating excessive traffic or increasing the storage spaces. The implementation results show the effect of the proposed approach in reducing the lookup path and the nodes storage space. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The practice of bioinformatics involves the collection, classification, storage and analysis of biological and biomedical information—using computers. Some of the specific areas in which these processes are applied include genomics and genetics. Also, an example of the specific data targeted by bioinformatics involves genetic codes. This paper has reviewed the concept of network analysis and its application in bioinformatics. Indeed, the process of network analysis has evolved with the aim of addressing the problem of using prior biological knowledge and expression data to establish differentially expressed gene or pathway groups. In particular, gene interaction networks and their related analysis processes have aided in searching for high-scoring sub-networks. From the findings reported in most of the previous scholarly studies, it can be inferred that there is increasing improvement in the network analysis process;including search algorithms and scoring functions (such as the incorporation of averaging gene expression). When these improvements are achieved, network analysis exhibits higher accuracy and speed, as well as easier biological interpretations. Examples of human microarray datasets on which the network analysis idea has been applied include serum data, regulatory T-cell data, and lymphocyte data;especially that which is related to the immune system and cancer. In summary, the review has established that network analysis continues to play an important role in bioinformatics in such a way that improved search algorithms and scoring functions have led to improvements in the speed and accuracy of identifying biological process- and disease-related pathways or genes. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Cloud computing is an "Internet-based computing". It provides many resources to Cloud Users based on demand without buying any infrastructure by making use of CSP (Cloud Service Providers) and the amount is charged based on the usage of data. It made the day to day functions easier "in evolving and making IT utilization for the consumers. The cloud is also used as" a channel to design and deploy user applications including its storage space and database "without worrying about the operating system used. An application can also run without consideration the infrastructure that is used. Also, the Cloud provides huge storage which is available for both data and databases. The storage of data on the Cloud is one of the main activities in Cloud computing which utilizes infrastructure spread across several geographical locations." The technology growth nowadays has made its way into the world of transportation by establishing smart vehicles and smarter vehicular transportation named Vehicular Ad-hoc networks (VANET). VANET gains its fame day by day by the way how it facilitates the efficient and safe transportation to the voyagers. However, the prime requirement of VANET is authentication. The main aim of the proposed work is to develop a practical and efficient pseudonymous authentication protocol which augments the conditional privacy preservation. Two-Way authentication is provided using local alias and global alias name. The alias name has offered to all the vehicles who register with the certification authority. The simulation result shows that the Two-Way protocol provides authentication with optimal packet delivery ratio (PDR), end-to-end delay and propagation delay. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Data Mining is the process of examining huge pre-existing databases in order to produce new information. Decision Tree is a very popular and practical approach in Data Mining. Decision Trees plays a crucial role in medical field. Ensemble methods create multiple models and produce more accurate solutions than a single model. Feature Selection improves the standard of the data by removing irrelevant attributes, due to that accuracy will increase. The volume of data are increasing continuously due to daily transactions, social networks, data automation etc. Managing of large amount data locally is a big challenge and therefore, the people are planned to outsource the data in to third-party server which decrease the cost of storage and local maintenance. Recently, researchers are working hard to securely outsource the data into the cloud server. There is increasing the computation cost when secure access control defined from the data owner site to the third-party server. It will be more effective for the light weight devices also when the computation outsourced through third-party server like data outsourcing in the cloud. In this paper, we proposed a novel process for computation outsourcing into the third party server. Here, we basically worked on a bilinear pairing which is costly computation operation, mostly used in recent security purpose and outsourced those pairing computation into the cloud. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In recent times, emotion recognition is in attention in brain computer interface (BCI) and human computer interaction (HCI) research area to provide a very good communication between brain and computer. The aim is to achieve a good recognition rate, although there are numerous researches have been conducted also there has been created several confusions with the definition of human emotions and the difference between emotions and moods. To detect brain signal, Electroencephalogram (EEG) signal has become biological marker. For its low cost, good time and spatial resolution EEG has been used widely in BCI researches. Extraction of features from EEG signals is one of the vital steps of EEG based emotion recognition. The appropriate feature selection for EEG based automatic emotion recognition is still now a big research topic. In India nursing educational institutions run under the umbrella of Indian Nursing council, which prescribes the curriculum and other norms for nursing education and nursing care services in health care sector. Indian nursing council has prescribed Introduction of computers in first year of ***. nursing course and in second year, ***. nursing course Communication and Education Technology. Objectives: The present study aims at knowing the nursing graduate student’s knowledge about health informatics and EMR and their opinion about these courses to be included in nursing curriculum. Methodology: An incidental study is conducted on final year ***. nursing students. Analysis and Results: Eighty percent of the male students are in favor of EMR system and seventy percent of the female students are in favor of it. Seventy eight percent of the both male and female students want to upgrade the nursing curriculum by including EMR and Health Informatics in the syllabus. Overall seventy four percent of the students are of the opinion that nursing curriculum need to be updated giving scope for technology based elective subjects like Electronic Medical Records and Health Informatics. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
