This study explores the optimal delivery modes and the impact of fee transparency reform on online food delivery platforms. By building models and conducting comparative analysis, we examine the effects of consumer demand for real-time delivery tracking, price thresholds, and platform fee transparency on merchants and platforms. The findings reveal that when consumers have low preference for real-time delivery tracking, merchants are more inclined to choose self-delivery to avoid high delivery costs and platform commissions. When the price threshold is low and there is moderate demand for real-time delivery tracking, merchants prioritize profits on each order and opt for platform delivery, while platforms tend to refrain from reform. However, in case of high consumer preference for real-time delivery tracking and a low price threshold, merchants choose platform delivery, and fee transparency reform further increases their profits. Finally, in case of high consumer preference for real-time delivery tracking and a high price threshold, the reform has no impact on merchant choices. This study provides decision support for online food delivery platforms and merchants, aiding them in selecting the optimal delivery modes and formulating fee strategies to improve efficiency and meet consumer demands.

Traditionally, business models and software designs used to model the usage of artificial intelligence (AI) at a very specific point in the process or rather fix implemented application. Since applications can be based on AI, such as networked artificial neural networks (ANN) on top of which applications are installed, these on-top applications can be instructed directly from their underlying ANN compartments [1]. However, with the integration of several AI-based systems, their coordination is a highly relevant target factor for the operation and improvement of networked processes, such as they can be found in cross-organizational production contexts spanning multiple distributed locations. This work aims to extend prior research on managing artificial knowledge transfers among interlinked AIs as coordination instrument by examining effects of different activation types (respective activation rates and cycles) on by ANN-instructed production machines. In a design-science-oriented way, this paper conceptualizes rhythmic state descriptions for dynamic systems and associated 14 experiment designs. Two experiments have been realized, analyzed and evaluated thereafter in regard with their activities and processes induced. Findings show that the simulator [2] used and experiments designed and realized, here, (I) enable research on ANN activation types, (II) illustrate ANN-based production networks disrupted by activation types and clarify the need for harmonizing them. Further, (III) management interventions are derived for harmonizing interlinked ANNs. This study establishes the importance of site-specific coordination mechanisms and novel forms of management interventions as drivers of efficient artificial knowledge transfer.

business Intelligence systems have become one of the most widely used information systems yet their efficient and successful usage requires advanced digital skills of business users, implementation team and digital transformation of organization in general. These requirements are particularly profound in implementation of self-service business intelligence solutions. In order to evaluate factors influencing success or failure of implementation of self-service business intelligence solutions, this paper adopts a modified DeLone and McLean IS success model. The modified model emphasizes importance of organizational factors and correlates user intent and satisfaction with leading and lagging indicators characterizing the implementation. The model is applied to analyze more than a hundred business intelligence implementation projects in small and medium size companies. An in-depth analysis of one successful project and one failed project is performed. The model offers a tool for business intelligence project management teams to increase success rates, to get insights from ongoing projects, to understand past failures and to plan better work for future projects.

business process modeling and system dynamics are different approaches that are used in the design and management of organizations. Both approaches are concerned with the processes in, and around, organizations with the aim to identify, design and understand their behavior as well as potential improvements. At the same time, these approaches differ considerably in their methodological focus. While business process modeling specifically takes the (control flow of) business processes as its primary focus, system dynamics takes the analysis of complex and multi-faceted systems as its core focus. More explicitly combining both approaches has the potential to better model and analyze (by way of simulation) complex business processes, while specifically also including more relevant facets from the environment of these business processes. Furthermore, the inherent ability for simulation of system dynamics models, can be used to simulate the behavior of processes over time, while also putting business processes in a broader multi-faceted context. In this paper, we report on initial results on making such a more explicit combination of business process modeling and system dynamics. In doing so, we also provide a step-by-step guide on how to use BPMN based models and system dynamics models together to model and analyze complex business processes, while illustrating this in terms of a case study on the maintenance of building facades.

Context: In Requirements Engineering, communication problems are ubiquitous. Many users and user organizations cannot fully understand the artefacts which developers produce (such as domain models, (conceptual) schemas, data models, class diagrams, (system) sequence diagrams, other UML diagrams, etc.). We try to solve challenges that customers and practitioners face when dealing with requirements that are not expressed in Natural Language (NL). Research questions: How could such artefacts be explained to and validated by the user organization in a systematic and user-understandable way? Main idea: Well, users are of course supposed to understand their own native natural language. So, you might try to translate those artefacts to their own natural language in a systematicway. But underwhich conditions andwhat are the general mechanisms behind this, both for static and for dynamic aspects? With a clear and complete set of construction rules or even a grammar for your artefacts, you can (try to) construct practical translations to the targetNL by systematically following those construction rules. This is independent of a particular development lifecycle within which the artefacts were produced. Contribution: In the paper, we make these general mechanisms behind such NL generation explicit and mention the conditions under which these ideas can be applied. We illustrate the applicability and feasibility of the general theory for Conceptual DataModels (statics-based), using construction rules, and for System Sequence Descriptions (dynamics-based), using syntax-directed translations. We also establish the (easy) readability of the results.

In March 2023, the five-year AI Hospital Program in Japan was completed. Various AI-applications have been implemented in four model AI Hospitals. This paper contains the results of a multiple use case analysis of an AI Hospital using the AIDAF and the intelligence amplification design canvas. The aim of this research paper is two-fold to: 1) evaluate the utility of the AIDAF and intelligence amplification design canvas to analyse implemented AI-applications, and 2) conduct a multiple use case analysis in an AI Hospital. A focus group was created and developed a three-step process to analyse nine use cases and related AI-applications that have been implemented at Keio University Hospital using the AIDAF and intelligence amplification design canvas. First, each use case was analysed using the four guiding principles of the intelligence amplification design canvas. Second, conceptual representations were created for each use case. Third, an aggregated view of the AI Hospital was created. The results and findings were discussed in five focus group meetings. This study provides empirical support that theAIDAFand the intelligence amplification design canvas can effectively support the individual analysis of implemented AI-applications as well as conducting a multiple use case analysis. As such, this study provided insight in the current state of the AI Hospital and identified opportunities for extensions and future development in the second term of theAIHospital Program andOpenHealthcare Platform 2030 consortium. The current study was mainly based on qualitative analysis and comparison implemented AI-applications within a single organization and did not include in-depth user research. Future research may contribute to the analysis of similar use cases in other (AI-)hospitals to conduct a cross use case analysis.

Innovation plays a crucial role in enabling crowdfunding campaigns to establish distinctive competitive advantages and in enabling backers to assess the investment potential of the campaign. The alignment of potential backers' innovation preferences with the innovation of micro-campaigns will significantly impact their investment decisions and, consequently, the performance of crowdfunding. However, assessing the degree of innovation as an implicit evaluation factor is more challenging compared to explicit evaluation factors such as titles, comments, and pictures directly presented on the platform. Furthermore, corporate innovation measurement methods based on patents, R&D expenditures, and new product indicators are not applicable to micro-campaigns within the crowdfunding domain. Consequently, the accurate measurement of innovation in micro-campaigns within crowdfunding presents an urgent issue to be addressed in the examination of backers' innovation preferences and the campaign innovation mechanism. We present a novel approach for measuring innovation by integrating topic modeling and word embedding to assess text similarity. The study involved analyzing the textual content of 15,761 crowdfunding campaigns on Indiegogo. The findings indicate that the text-based innovation measurement method is capable of capturing a wide range of innovations, including those that fall within the scope of patent disclosure and innovation description. The study suggests that text-based innovation proxy indicators are effective and outperform traditional innovation indicators in comprehensively capturing innovation practices in crowdfunding campaigns. Furthermore, this study identified an empirical "inverted U"-shaped correlation between innovation and crowdfunding performance. This article presents concepts and criteria for investigating innovation mechanisms and influential factors in the realm of crowdfunding, focusing on methods for measuring innovation.

Research on the number of scientific papers and citations in education data has yielded insights into potential patterns and general laws of scientific growth. We use the arXiv database, encompassing over 1.88 million scientific papers and their citations spanning the years 1991 to 2022. Through an analysis of the growth rate of the number of scientific papers, the findings indicate a gradual slowdown in the scientific growth pattern over different periods. Comparative assessments of growth rates across the disciplines of physics, mathematics and computer science reveal diverse growth patterns in different disciplines. The exploration extends to the analysis of directed citation network constructed by scientific papers, highlighting that only a fewer paper exhibits higher connectivity. This observation emphasizes the significant contributions made by few papers and helps to understand the relationship between collaboration and information dissemination in scientific research. Furthermore, an analysis of the citation distribution and cumulative citation proportion of scientific papers over the preceding ten years. The results show a discernible time decay phenomenon in citation patterns and emphasize the significance of recent research in advancing the scientific process. This find contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of scientific growth, collaboration, and the impact of contemporary research in the academic landscape.

In recent years, the rapid development of new retail has promoted the growth of the fresh food e-commerce industry. More and more fresh food e-commerce enterprises are selling their products through platforms similar to JD Daojia, and there are also platform-based, new retail-based operation modes. In this context, it is particularly important to compare the operation modes of fresh food e-commerce and study the coordination mechanisms of fresh food e-commerce supply chains to improve the overall benefits of the supply chain. This paper constructs a dual-channel supply chain consisting of fresh food e-commerce enterprises and fresh food e-commerce platforms. Based on the consideration of the input of fresh preservation efforts, it compares and analyzes the operation modes of platform-based and new retail-based fresh food e-commerce, and studies the coordination problems of platform-based e-commerce supply chains.

Value Streams with supporting Capability Maps are a popular trend in modern enterprise architecture design. However, the existing definition of a capability as a collection of selected functionality is imprecise and often results in unmanageable capabilities and capability maps. Conceptual and process models, which are traditionally used to select functionality for system modules are considered too detailed at the strategic level, where capabilities are represented. This paper defines requirements and constraints for manageable capabilities and capability maps. The paper also proposes a method for the design of manageable capabilities and capability maps. This method employs the definition of requirements and constraints, as well as protocol modeling, to achieve this goal. Protocol models of capabilities are defined at the level of business objects and functionality chunks. The composition technique inherent to protocol modeling allows for the seamless movement of business objects and functional chunks between capabilities, thus facilitating the design of a manageable capability map. Furthermore, all protocol models of capabilities and capability maps can be simulated. The simulation process enables the identification of unmanageable and missing capabilities within a capability map. The proposed method can be employed as a reference for the design of manageable capability maps.
