Manual business Process Modeling can be a time-consuming and error-prone process, resulting in low-quality models. Therefore, various approaches have been proposed in research and practice to partially or fully automate the creation of business process models. We conducted a systematic literature review (LR) on automatic generation of business process models. The LR demonstrates that there exist various approaches for automated generation of business process models, which differ in terms of the input data, generation methods, and modeling languages utilized. Despite active research into automatic model generation, there is still considerable scope for improvement. New technologies are continually being developed to support automatic model generation. Additionally, the increasing digitalization of processes and organizations generates vast amounts of data that can be harnessed for modeling.

This study examines the effects of AI transparency in AI-human task delegation. According to the principal-agent theory (PAT), increasing transparency can help address the problem of hidden action. Through a between-subjects experiment with three conditions (AI advantage information, AI function information, vs. no information), we explore the impact of AI transparency on human task performance and consider the mediating effect of human epistemic uncertainty and AI trust. Results show that AI function information enhances accuracy, while AI advantage information encourages more task completion. Epistemic uncertainty fully mediates the relationship between transparency and task performance (both accuracy and image number), while AI trust only mediates the effect on image number. The results have implications for the future work of the design of AI transparency in human-AI collaboration.

business Process Management (BPM) aims to improve organizational activities and their outcomes by managing the underlying processes. To achieve this, it is often necessary to consider information from various sources, including unstructured textual documents. Therefore, researchers have developed several BPM-specific solutions that extract information from textual documents using Natural Language processing techniques. These solutions are specific to their respective tasks and cannot accomplish multiple process-related problems as a general-purpose instrument. However, in light of the recent emergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) with remarkable reasoning capabilities, such a general-purpose instrument with multiple applications now appears attainable. In this paper, we illustrate how LLMs can accomplish text-related BPM tasks by applying a specific LLM to three exemplary tasks: mining imperative process models from textual descriptions, mining declarative process models from textual descriptions, and assessing the suitability of process tasks from textual descriptions for robotic process automation. We show that, without extensive configuration or prompt engineering, LLMs perform comparably to or better than existing solutions and discuss implications for future BPM research as well as practical usage.

Live streaming has become an important role for the sales for agricultural products. While live streaming of agricultural product has unique characteristics, this paper addresses how three less investigated live streaming designs which are product distance, scene type and streamer type affects sales for agricultural products. Based on dual-process theory, we further classify the impact of these three factors on sales into product path and non-product path. A dataset of live streaming of agricultural products on the TikTok platform is analyzed to test our hypotheses. Results show that all these three factors have significant impact on sales for agricultural product. Further, by comparing the relative impact of product path and non-product path on sales based on dominant analysis, we found that product distance representing product path is more important than non-product path. Both theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

While artificial intelligence promises a wide range of potential for businesses, its adoption poses major problems for some organizations. This paper presents a modeling framework that aims to specify AI use cases. It models three views: business, data and analytics, that are adopted for the requirements of AI. The framework was applied in a real-world case study leading to several AI use cases and two proof of concepts. While the business view is a useful tool to derive ideas for AI use cases in general, the data and analytics views are very specific to each use case. The framework serves as a means to an end to communicate the project goals, deliver practical guidance and to capture the main results. As its application is time consuming and challenging, this paper closes with guidelines for its efficient use in practice.

Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, this study constructed a multiple mediation model of empowering leadership affecting employees' deviant innovation behavior. The analysis results show that the higher the level of empowering leadership, the more likely employees are to have deviant innovation behavior. Psychological security, organizational innovation climate and creative self-efficacy play a significant mediating role in the process of empowering leadership to stimulate employees' deviant innovation behavior. The results of this study provide new theoretical support for the subsequent research on deviant innovation behavior, and provide decision-making basis for enterprise managers to promote employees' deviant innovation behavior and improve enterprise innovation performance.

The present study aims to validate the proposed Process Architecture Creation (PAC) method for driving organizational change and facilitating process optimization. To achieve this objective, a systematic literature was conducted to obtain a theoretical basis on existing approaches to PA creation method proposition. To validate the proposed model, a specialized validation was conducted through a focus group consisting of nine business Process Management (BPM) specialists. The results present a new PAC method composed of four stages: Stage 1, Identify the organization's business context;Stage 2, Define the PA;Stage 3, Align PA and business Architecture;and Stage 4, Define the measurement and control mechanism. The PAC Method may help organizations involved in BPM promotion initiatives to create their own PAs by following the stages proposed in this work. According to the focus group specialists, the architecture created using this method will provide a holistic view of the organization's processes and routines, helps optimize problem-prone processes, support the establishment of change plans aligned with process alignment, aids in identifying the impact of necessary changes, and contributes to the implementation of specific technologies, such as robotic process automation. The originality of this work consists of the consolidation of the PA concept, which will provide benefits to the research field by serving as a basis for in-depth knowledge of the subject.

This short paper positions my doctoral research within the field of information systems, and, more specifically, to the EDOC community in preparation for the doctoral symposium. The research topic of my doctoral research is the design and implementation of Intelligence Amplification (IA) applications. Although extensively researched, there is no consensus in literature regarding the definition of IA, design knowledge is scattered across disciplines, and no routine design exists for IA applications. Therefore, the main aim of my doctoral research is two-fold to (1) establish a knowledge base for IA, as a foundation to (2) develop a design and action theory for IA. The knowledge base will be developed using established design science research methodologies and frameworks. Design knowledge regarding IA will be identified, analysed, and synthesized based on a systematic literature review using the PRISMA 2020 statement. The knowledge base will serve as a foundation for the design and action theory for IA. Action design research will be utilized to iteratively develop and evaluate an IA design method and practical design tools to help professionals and practitioners design and implement IA applications in the context of Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0.

The digital transformation of education has become a common goal in educational reforms worldwide. The ultimate purpose of educational digitization is to promote human development. However, this process is hindered by technological traps, and calls for corresponding governance strategies. This paper tries to establish a simple model incorporating the traps and governance strategies by investigating the case of a university F. The findings show that technologies traps mainly consist of technological biases, a detachment from digital competency, and an inclination towards "entertainment". In order to overcome these traps and enhance the efficacy of digital transformation in education, it is imperative to integrate rational tools and values, empower teachers with digital skills, and create new educational forms.

People are using Social Network Services (SNSs) more and more in today's digital and mobile world to communicate with the outside world rather than going face-to-face with it. While providing the convenience of connectivity, SNS use has a profound impact on psychological well-being. Prior research on the effects of SNSs on psychological well-being has not yet produced resounding findings. Focusing on one aspect of psychological well-being, loneliness, this study hypothesizes and compares three mediating mechanisms of SNS use on loneliness (i.e., offline social support, online social capital, and meaning in life) among different types and between elderly and young adults. A sample of 207 elderly and 310 young adults was collected to validate the hypotheses. The elderly group comprises 94.7% of the respondents who are older than 50. Of the respondents in the sample of young adults, 97.1% are between the ages of 20 and 35, and all of them are single and reside in a city other than their hometown. The result of PLS-SEM analysis shows no direct effect of SNS use on loneliness. The mediating effects vary between elderly and urban solitary youth, as well as among types of SNS. Elderly people place a high value on seeking offline social support and meaning in life, which helps them alleviate loneliness, while young adults prioritize expanding online social capital which exacerbates their loneliness. This study contributes theoretically to social network theories and developmental psychology, as well as practical implications for SNS design.
