The abundance of data generated and processed by the ubiquitous number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices around the world is a promising enabler for civil, criminal, and digital investigations. Such data can be used as valuable artefacts to support IoT forensic investigations. This paper provides a survey of IoT forensics models presenting recent advances in the field and identifying opportunities for future research. Through this survey, we identified the challenges in IoT devices and protocols and the solution of the IoT frameworks. More specifically, we examine 18 IoT forensics frameworks in hardware and software architectures in which the challenges were addressed. The future research directions of IoT forensics lie in the implementation and testing of frameworks and models proposed in the latest research. Such research should focus on forensic soundness, data privacy and data carving.

Forward-looking companies like Google and Baidu have started to complement their efficiency targets with effectiveness goals such as new or better insights. Based on findings from two reference companies, this article ranks a list of initial analytical business services that combine data across different shared service-center domains. Clustered by the beneficiary functions, that are Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, and Sales, we detail three out of twenty-two initially developed analytical business services and highlight how shared service centers can add value through these activities. Based on discussions with functional experts and practitioners about this finding, we conclude that analytical business services should be an essential lever towards new business models for shared service centers.

This work aims to respond to the profound lack of dialogue between citizenship and policy making institutions by proposing a novel solution that enables the transition to inclusive, transparent, accountable and trustworthy deliberation practices. The proposed solution builds on cutting-edge AI tools and technologies to develop a sustainable digital platform, and bridges theories from the fields of argumentation and digital democracy. It may transform scattered islands of emerging knowledge and practices, as well as fragmented discussion threads, into an integrated and coherent dialogue, and provides mechanisms for expanding this dialogue and converting it into tangible actions. Much attention is paid to issues related to knowledge extraction, knowledge graph-based representation of large-scale deliberation, argument mining, aggregation and visualization, as well as to explanation and awareness services about the evolution and outcome of a deliberation.

Conformance checking is a process mining technique that allows verifying the conformance of process instances to a given model. Many conformance checking algorithms provide quantitative information about the conformance of a process instance through metrics such as fitness. Fitness measures to what degree the model allows the behavior observed in the event log. Conventional fitness does not consider the individual severity of deviations. In cases where there are rules that are more important to comply with than others, fitness consequently does not take all factors into account. In the field of medicine, for example, there are guideline recommendations for clinical treatment that have information about their importance and soundness, making it essential to distinguish between them. Therefore, we introduce an alignment-based conformance checking approach that considers the importance of individual specifications and weights violations. The approach is evaluated with real patient data and evidence-based guideline recommendations. Using this approach, it was possible to integrate guideline recommendation metadata into the conformance checking process and to weight violations individually.

Datafication processes, the ongoing strive for making organizations data-driven, have in recent years entailed data-focused software projects and more interdisciplinary teamwork. Simultaneously as agile product teams have been directed towards increased use of data for software development, stronger data protection regulations such as GDPR have further complexified the software developer role, whose responsibilities and expectations now expand far beyond mere coding. Seeking to develop an understanding of how data-intensive product teams in the public sector maneuver the legal hurdles emerging in the wake of data governance, this paper builds on 19 interviews with members of two agile product teams in the Norwegian organizations NAV and Entur. Our findings indicate that including a legal expert in the team can boost confidence in data handling practices and avoid delays in deliveries, but it requires effort to synchronize and overcome interdisciplinary barriers.

Privacy protection is a main goal in the majority of the Blockchain studies. However some dishonest users may abuse from the benefits of this property and the fact of not being identified to do illegal crimes. That is why several researches focus on implementing identity tracing to avoid the flaws related to privacy protection in Blockchain applications. In this paper, we propose a Distributed Multi-Key Generation (DMKG) protocol without private channels built on the DMKG protocol of the Blockchain Traceable Scheme with Oversight Function (BTSOF) presented in [8]. Our protocol introduces a new strategy to manage complaints between participants that avoids them to publicly reveal the values of their shares of secrets. This new management of complaints and the use of public channels allow a precise identification of malicious participants. We prove that our solution satisfies the security requirements of the Verifiable Multi-Secret Sharing (VMSS) schemes and DMKG protocols.

Enterprise Modeling is a discipline that facilitates understanding and analyzing complex organizational phenomena and domains. A variety of methods and tools exist, often optimized for specific domains. KYKLOS is a domain-specific method that has been developed to model the phenomenon of changing business capabilities. It is not uncommon for such methods to be complemented by tools which facilitate the user and often enhance the method with additional technical functionalities. In this paper, the homonymous tool is presented, which has been developed using the ADOxx meta-modeling platform and complements the previously developed method.

Commercial organisations are holding and processing an ever-increasing amount of personal data. Policies and laws are continually changing to require these companies to be more transparent regarding collection, storage, processing and sharing of this data. This paper reports our work of taking *** as a case study to visualise personal data flows extracted from their privacy policy. By showcasing how the company shares its consumers' personal data, we raise questions and extend discussions on the challenges and limitations of using privacy policies to inform online users about the true scale and the landscape of personal data flows. This case study can inform us about future research on more data flow-oriented privacy policy analysis and on the construction of a more comprehensive ontology on personal data flows in complicated business ecosystems.

business Process Management (BPM) is a widely applied discipline in many organizations. Creating and maintaining business process models is a task that still requires much human work and is costly and cumbersome. The reuse of business process models is a solution to minimize human effort and increase quality. For reuse, appropriate process models must be discovered in a repository. Enrichment of the models with semantic annotations from domain ontologies can leverage better results for of discovering reusable process models. Although using semantically annotated business process models for the case of reuse has been mentioned and proposed in the literature, the exact requirements and implementation have yet to be analyzed in detail. This paper closes this research gap with an artifact in the form of a methodology to discover business process models. This includes a list of relevant criteria, a base ontology, possible automated annotation techniques, and a query form.

In this chapter, we consider the global problem of spare parts operating costs optimization from an implementation perspective. So far, the problem of the optimal replacement time for a spare part has been extensively studied in the context of a single part. The available analytical models allow for a very accurate estimation of further service life and savings related to the replacement. Nevertheless, the simultaneous optimization problem of the operating costs for all spare parts used in the factory is beyond the scope of the developed analytical methods. This chapter presents a proposal of a method allowing for global cost optimization. This is one of many approaches that can be used. However, we want to show what kind of problems the global optimization task boils down to in this case. Our goal is to propose modern architecture for IT systems supporting the maintenance department. We believe that the methods presented in this chapter will be an important foundation for this type of solution.
