Test driven development (TDD) is a practice that aims to improve product quality and maintainability by interweaving the design and implementation with its testing. It is most prominent in the software development domain. However, its usefulness is not undisputed, making it a somewhat controversial topic. Besides giving a short introduction regarding the principles of TDD, the publication at hand motivates and outlines a structured literature review to obtain new insights regarding the perception of TDD in computer science, hopefully contributing to the corresponding discourse. Furthermore, by already conducting the first steps of the review, it provides a first impression regarding the vastness of the potentially relevant literature base and gives a rough indication regarding the extend that is to be expected for the completed work.

The article presents the results of the work on the method of intuitive UI and UX personalization of mobile applications. The method is based on the user's personality profile (Big 5) inferred from the available data on the user's phone at the time of installation. The user's personality model was created based on machine learning performed on data from 2,202 people. The proposed method enables personalization from the first contact of the customer with the application. Therefore, it is a significant advantage of the study. Moreover, the method ensures complete data privacy protection since no data about the user is uploaded outside the mobile phone.

Processes are an essential concept in modern society, promoting the standardization, documentation, and control of complex interactions between businesses, governments, and individuals. Therefore, it is essential to provide approaches and tools that support the participants during the execution of these processes. However, current solutions for process guidance are usually proprietary, difficult to follow, and not effective in supporting these participants in their daily processes. In this paper, we present an approach for building a novel type of conversational agents - which we call PACAs - that can communicate with workflow management systems, using the BPMN standard, to support the execution of a process. We also describe a use case in which a PACA is implemented by using Rasa - a chatbot framework - and Camunda Engine - a workflow management system. We believe that promoting the integration of processes and conversational agents is key to simplifying process execution and, thus, making business processes more widespread and prevalent in the academy and industry.

The bill of lading (B/L) is one of the most important documents in international trade. Current advances started to adopt public blockchain technology for digitization but lacking privacy. We raise the research question, if a private blockchain is suitable to solve this shortcoming. To answer this research question, we followed the design science research methodology. We designed an architecture and evaluated it via implementation, using Hyperledger Fabric. First results show general feasibility and privacy enhancement but reveal a high complexity and difficult extendibility of Hyperledger Fabric. Preliminary results of a focus group shows that the approach peaked interested by practitioners.

Accurate weather prediction is a challenging task. It involves large amount of data and computation, which vary dynamically. This paper discusses a novel idea of using Multi Agent System (MAS) for weather forecasting, particularly in the Indian context. The proposed approach incorporates a deep neural network model within MAS with a hybrid ANN algorithm to recognize the static and dynamic weather conditions. The approach uses ensemble prediction to account for indeterminism in weather conditions. Predictions and alerts given by MAS can help the government and local authorities to plan precautions in a timely manner. The paper discusses the implementation challenges and advantages of a MAS Model compared to Numerical Weather Prediction method.

A wealth of techniques have been developed to help organizations understand their processes, verify correctness against requirements and diagnose potential problems. In general, these verification techniques allow us to check whether a business process conforms or complies with some specification, and each of them is specifically designed to solve a particular business problem at a stage of the BPM lifecycle. However, the terms conformance and compliance are often used as synonyms and their distinct differences in verification goals is blurring. As a result, the terminology used to describe the techniques or the corresponding verification activity does not always match with the precise meaning of the terms as they are defined in the area of verification. Consequently, confusion of these terms may hamper the application of the different techniques and the correct positioning of research. In this position paper, we aim to provide comprehensive definitions and a unified terminology throughout the BPM lifecycle. Moreover, we explore the consequences when these terms are used incorrectly. In doing so, we aim to improve adoption from research to practical applications by clarifying the relation between techniques and the intended verification goals.

Enterprise modeling is a set of tools, methods and practices for an aligned development of business, functional, organizational and technical aspects of an enterprise. Therefore, an enterprise model is always a set of sub-models of different semantics. In order to form a consistent enterprise model, its sub-models should be aligned to each other. The practice of modeling shows the difficulties in design of an aligned set of sub-models of an enterprise model. In this paper we present a review of enterprise modeling approaches aiming to find the reasons of difficulties. Our review shows that enterprise modeling approaches not sufficiently use the semantic relations of sub-models for building an enterprise model. This paper identifies and formalizes the semantic relations of sub-models and suggests to use them as constraints directing the design of aligned sub-models. The constraints imposed by sub-models of the enterprise model to each other are illustrated with a case study in ArchiMate.

Organizations act in dynamic and constantly changing business environments, as the current times unfortunately illustrate. As a consequence, business processes need to be able to constantly adapt to new realities. While the dynamic nature of business processes is hardly ever challenged, the complexity of processes and the information systems (IS) supporting them make effective business process management (BPM) a challenging task. Process mining (PM) is a maturing field of data-driven process analysis techniques that addresses this challenge. PM techniques take event logs as input to extract process-related knowledge, such as automatically discovering and visualizing process models. The popularity of PM applications is growing in both industry and academia and the integration of PM with machine learning, simulation and other complementary trends, such as Digital Twins of an Organization, is gaining significant attention. However, the success of PM is directly related to the quality of the input event logs, thus the need for high-quality event logs is evident. While a decade ago the PM manifesto already stressed the importance of high-quality event logs, stating that event data should be treated as first-class citizens, event logs are often still considered as "by-products" of an IS. Even within the PM research domain, research on event logs is mostly focused on ad-hoc preparation techniques and research on event log management is critically lacking. This paper addresses this research gap by positioning event logs as first-class citizens through the lens of an event log management framework, presenting current challenges and areas for future research.

With an increasing amount of structured data on the web, the need to understand and convert it into linked data is growing. One of the most frequent data formats is Comma Separated Value (CSV). However, it is not easy to describe metadata such as the datatype, data quality and data provenance along with it. Therefore, to publish CSV on the web, it is required to convert CSV into linked data format. Many approaches exist to facilitate the conversion process from structured data to linked data. However, all methods require additional domain knowledge for the conversion process. The goal of this research is to assist publishers in converting CSV files into linked data without human intervention whilst understanding its quality and root causes of data quality violations. The proposed framework consists of two modules. The first module converts the given CSV file into a knowledge graph based on a proposed ontology which is appended with data quality information. In the second module, triples that have violated the data quality constraints are identified. The results show that it is possible to convert a CSV to a knowledge graph by adding its quality information without the help of external mappings.

Smart spaces' systems help users in their daily routines by automating various tasks. It can however be frustrating for users if the system does not evolve to support changes in their routines. To address this issue, we present an approach that combines two state-of-the-art approaches: MAtE, an end-user model-driven approach, and Cortado, an incremental process mining approach. CortadoMAtE can automatically detect changes in routines and allows the users to easily include the changes in the system step by step, or to even adapt them further before integrating them. In this way, continuous system evolution is addressed enabling the system to stay up to date with user needs.
