While the ongoing digital transformation is boosting the demand for digital solutions and digital skills, organizations worldwide experience a shortage of IT professionals and particularly software developers. At the same time, the increasing prevalence of low-code development platforms (LCDP) allows organizations to introduce citizen development initiatives to promote and accelerate their digital transformations. Citizen development represents a novel software engineering paradigm which enables and supports the development of software by non-IT professionals, consequently referred to as 'citizen developers'. While there is a vivid discourse on citizen development in the practice community, research on this phenomenon is still scarce. We conducted a systematic multivocal literature review including research and practice publications, and identified six key themes: 1) definition and characteristics of citizen development, 2) enablers and expected benefits of citizen development, 3) challenges of and criticism towards citizen development, 4) citizen development strategy and implementation, 5) citizen development governance, and 6) citizen developers' profiles and skills. Moreover, we propose a research agenda for future work on citizen development. Our research contribution is to synthesize the existing knowledge on citizen development and to point out future avenues to propel research on this emerging and contemporary phenomenon.

Nowadays, businesses in many industries face an increasing flow of data and information. Data are at the core of the decision-making process, hence it is vital to ensure that the data are of high quality and no noise is present. Outlier detection methods are aimed to find unusual patterns in data and find their applications in many practical domains. These methods employ different techniques, ranging from pure statistical tools to deep learning models that have gained popularity in recent years. Moreover, one of the most popular outlier detection techniques are machine learning models. They have several characteristics which affect the potential of their usefulness in real-life scenarios. The goal of this paper is to add to the existing body of research on outlier detection by comparing the isolation forest, DBSCAN and LOF techniques. Thus, we investigate the research question: which ones of these outlier detection models perform best in practical business applications. To this end, three models are built on 12 datasets and compared using 5 performance metrics. The final comparison of the models is based on the McNemar's test, as well as on ranks per performance measure and on average. Three main conclusions can be made from the benchmarking study. First, the models considered in this research disagree differently, i.e. their type I and type II errors are not similar. Second, considering the time, AUPRC and sensitivity metrics, the iForest model is ranked the highest. Hence, the iForest model is the best in the cases when time performance is a key consideration as well as when the opportunity costs of not detecting an outlier are high. Third, the DBSCAN model obtains the highest ranking along the F1 score and precision dimensions. That allows us to conclude that if raising many false alarms is not an important concern, the DBSCAN model is the best to employ.

Model-driven development (MDD) tools allow software development teams to increase productivity and decrease software time-to-market. Although several MDD tools have been proposed, they are not commonly adopted by software development practitioners. Some authors have noted MDD tools are poorly adopted due to a lack of user assistance during modeling-related tasks. This has led model-driven engineers-i.e., engineers who create MDD tools-to equip MDD tools with intelligent assistants, wizards for creating models, consistency checkers, and other modeling assistants to address such assist-modeling-related issues. However, is this the way MDD users expect to be assisted during modeling in MDD tools? Therefore, we plan and conduct two focus groups with MDD users. We extract data around three main research questions: i) what are the challenges perceived by MDD users during modeling for later code generation? ii) what are the features of the current modeling assistants that users like/dislike? and iii) what are the user's needs that are not yet satisfied by the current modeling assistants? As a result, we gather requirements from the MDD users' perspective on how they would like to be assisted while using MDD tools. We propose an emerging framework for assistingMDD users during modeling based on such requirements. In addition, we outline future challenges and research efforts for next-generation MDD tools.

Despite a global pandemic, it positively increases the intention to use contactless payments. MP usage still falls behind existing alternative payment methods like cash and card. Thus, this paper aims to explore the drivers and inhibitors of MP usage in relation to cash and card payment, which is still an underresearched area in MP. For this, we conducted an online survey (n = 227) in Germany and ran a partial least squares path modelling approach. The results reveal that relative advantage and compatibility drive the intention to use MP compared to cash and card payment. Especially, the result for relative advantage indicates thatMP needs some "good" arguments to convince card-preferring users to switch to MP. Interestingly, users regard the disadvantages of MP differently. For instance, perceived switching costs are significantly stronger forMPcompared to cash payment but data threat is significantly stronger for MP compared to card payment. The results of the disadvantages of MP confirm Germans' strong "love" for cash payment and that German consumers regard MP as more similar to the card than to cash payment.

IoT systems collect and exchange data whose analysis opens up incredible opportunities to improve the human satisfaction with IoT systems. The IoT data can be indeed used to discover human habits and interaction patterns, useful to both improve human experience and further automatize the system. Process Mining can be leveraged on for this purpose, but a gap needs to be bridged between IoT-device event data and logs by aggregating events to take to the right granularity for Process Mining. This papers reports on the experience on real-life data to discover the human habits in a smart house. In particular, the benefits are reported on how to aggregate event data to the right granularity to further apply process-mining discovery techniques. The results illustrate that, when applied on the case study, the proposed technique is able to discover human-habit models that are more readable and accurate, thus providing actionable insights for a subsequent optimization of the human experience with the IoT system.

In today's fast-changing and innovative world, startups must compete amongst themselves and other well-established companies to hire the best talent in order to succeed. Diversity within the recruitment process is typically not a priority, even though it is well known that a diverse team is beneficial for (business) outcomes. Through a multiple case study performed at 5 IT startups based in the Netherlands, we observed that gender bias is introduced from the first moment that the need for an employee has been identified until candidate hiring. This is a direct result from (1) a lack of resources (e.g., time and money), (2) urgency to find the first and best candidate, or (3) the awareness of the startup founders.

Social Media and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) are already widely used in business settings, but other non-commercial sectors started only recently to adopt them. Among them are Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Even though research shows positive effects on the quality of services, student satisfaction, and attractiveness towards international students, the adoption is very low. This research in progress reviews the state of research about Social CRM in HEIs and gives an example of the potential of social media for CRM approaches of HEIs by applying Social CRM concepts and techniques for better understanding the negative service experiences of students. By applying analytical Social CRM techniques on large amounts of User-Generated-Content (UGC) in complaint platforms the paper gives insights into problem chains inaccessible with manual methods. Based on the scarce research about Social CRM as well as the demonstrated potential of social media for CRM strategies of HEIs, this paper concludes with a call for further research on Social CRM in HEIs.

The new ITIL 4 standard was introduced in 2020. Still, ITIL standardization highly influences how IT-Service Management (ITSM) is seen and performed in practice. Hence, this new standard may have a similarly high impact. The major focus on StakeholderValue (SV) is a key element of ITIL 4 for analysing IT-Services. Generally, stakeholder orientation is a current trend in business analysis. Therefore, our itsVALUE method and modeller provide means to model and analyze value delivery in IT-Services. In an ITIL 4 context, both can also be used for the design of services. itsVALUE combines "traditional" approaches to Value Stream (VS) analysis and service modelling. Further, it adds concepts and functionalities that meet the requirements of ITSM and ITIL 4. Still, itsVALUE must be checked in practice regarding its method, notation and ADOxx modeller. To investigate these issues, this work deeply describes and discusses a first case study we carried out regardingly. Overall, the participants involved perceived the itsVALUE method as suitable to support value-oriented ITSM. However, there were slight differences in their perception of the itsVALUE notation. Lastly, they perceived the itsVALUE ADOxx modeller as a powerful and supportive tool.

For the last several decades, the increased, widespread, unwarranted, and unaccountable use of closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) globally has raised concerns about privacy risks. Recent CCTV camera features, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI)based facial recognition, only increase concerns. Therefore, CCTV-aware solutions must exist that provide privacy, safety, and cybersecurity features. We argue that a significant step forward in privacy is to provide privacy and safety options for areas where cameras are present in routing and navigation systems. However, no routing and navigation system, whether online or offline, provides corresponding CCTV-aware functionality. In this paper, we introduce OSRM-CCTV - the first CCTV-aware routing system designed and built for privacy, anonymity, and safety applications. We demonstrate the effectiveness and usability of the system on a handful of examples. To help validate our work as well as further to encourage the development and broad adoption of the system, we release OSRM-CCTV as open-source.

Event logs can be analyzed using various process mining techniques (e.g., process discovery) to obtain valuable information about the actual behavior of business process executions. Typically, these techniques rely on the presence of a case identifier linking events to process instances. However, if the process involves information systems that do not record events in a process-oriented manner, a clear case identifier may be missing, resulting in an unlabeled event log. While some approaches already address the challenge of inferring case identifiers for unlabeled event logs, most of them provide limited support for cyclic behavior without additional inputs. This paper proposes a three-step approach to correlate events with case identifiers for unlabeled event logs originating from processes with cyclic behavior. While evaluating the accuracy of our approach with two real-world event logs (MIMIC-IV and Road Traffic Fine Management), we show that our approach, compared to the existing ones, detects cyclic behavior and correlates events closer to the original process instances without additional inputs.
