Digital transformation has been an interesting concept from the organizational perspective for a long time. The benefits of a successful digital transformation can take your organization into the next step by providing an increased organizational growth, aid market reachability by penetrating new and exciting markets, or enable your business operations to function to a greater extent than before with higher efficiency and lower lead times. Digital transformation is however a complex and diverse concept that means to integrate new innovations by using digital technology into the organization with the need of making greater organizational changes to succeed. This research, has explored how different organizational aspects like structural, technological and cultural ones can impact the success of a digital transformation during an ERP system change. A case study has been conducted in a company to identify how the current structural, technological, and cultural aspects influence the current digital transformation in that the company. The data was collected through interviews with employees having managerial roles and from internal documents of company and was analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show an agile approach, a more decentralized structure and high readiness for change, along with a transparent communication between management and co-workers to be beneficial for a successfully digital transformation.

Many powerful metamodeling platforms exist, each with strengths, weaknesses, functionalities, programming language(s), and developer community. To exploit the mutual benefits of these platforms, it would be ideal to establish interoperability amongst them and the exchange of metamodels and models. This would enable language engineers to choose the metamodeling platform freely without risking a lock-in effect. Two well-documented and freely available metamodeling platforms are the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) and Microsoft's Modeling SDK for Visual Studio (MSDKVS). This paper proposes the first achievements toward establishing interoperability between EMF and MSDKVS on an abstract syntax level and a graphical concrete syntax level. To develop such interoperability, we i) comprehensively analyze the two platforms, ii) present a conceptual mapping between them, and iii) eventually implement a bidirectional transformation bridge. The transformed results' validity, executability, and expressiveness are then quantitatively and qualitatively assessed by transforming a collection of publicly available metamodels.

Context: Companies adapt agile methods, practices or artifacts for their use in practice since more than two decades. This adaptions result in a wide variety of described agile practices. For instance, the Agile Alliance lists 75 different practices in its Agile Glossary. This situation may lead to misunderstandings, as agile practices with similar names can be interpreted and used differently. Objective: This paper synthesize an integrated list of agile practices, both from primary and secondary sources. Method: We performed a tertiary study to identify existing overviews and lists of agile practices in the literature. We identified 876 studies, of which 37 were included. Results: The results of our paper show that certain agile practices are listed and used more often in existing studies. Our integrated list of agile practices comprises 38 entries structured in five categories. Conclusion: The high number of agile practices and thus, the wide variety increased steadily over the past decades due to the adaption of agile methods. Based on our findings, we present a comprehensive overview of agile practices. The research community benefits from our integrated list of agile practices as a potential basis for future research. Also, practitioners benefit from our findings, as the structured overview of agile practices provides the opportunity to select or adapt practices for their specific needs.

Despite all the recent advances in process mining, making it accessible to non-technical users remains a challenge. In order to democratize this technology and make process mining ubiquitous, we propose a conversational interface that allows non-technical professionals to retrieve relevant information about their processes and operations by simply asking questions in their own language. In this work, we propose a reference architecture to support a conversational, process mining oriented interface to existing process mining tools. We combine classic natural language processing techniques (such as entity recognition and semantic parsing) with an abstract logical representation for process mining queries. We also provide a compilation of real natural language questions (aiming to form a dataset of that sort) and an implementation of the architecture that interfaces to an existing commercial tool: Everflow. Last but not least, we analyze the performance of this implementation and point out directions for future work.

Vaccination is a cost-effective health practice that prevents or reduces patients' hospitalization, illness, and death. In case of a pandemic as the COVID-19 outbreak, vaccination is a more challenging situation due to the urgency in controlling the spread of a high infecting disease. Public acceptance of vaccines is critical to the success of immunization campaigns, being affected by the poor knowledge about vaccination and the existence of fake news. People need to know who needs to be vaccinated, which vaccines exist, when they should get vaccinated, and where to get vaccinated. Governments and health agencies need to approve, acquire, distribute, and administer the vaccines in a short period. information related to the vaccine lifecycle is important for decision-makers to deliver vaccines effectively and equitably, through the development of immunization programs and their continuous improvement. Blockchain is a technology that stores data in blocks chained together in chronological order and replicated over a network. Blockchain data is decentralized, encrypted, and cross-checked, which in turn ensures security, immutability, transparency and trust. Such characteristics make Blockchain a reliable platform to address COVID-19 vaccine lifecycle. We investigate how the lifecycle of the COVID-19 vaccine can benefit from an approach based on Blockchain. We discuss the scenarios of vaccine research, production, distribution, and administration, as well as monitoring of disease cases. The main goal of the proposed Blockchain-based approach is to offer a transparent and trustable platform for all stakeholders that take part in the scenarios related to COVID-19 vaccines, including government entities and citizens.

Efficient and quick detection of problems is an essential task in online process monitoring. Many anomaly detection approaches excel in finding local deviations. We propose a novel approach that tracks local deviations over multiple process instances and visualizes correlations of deviation points. PErrCas provides knowledge about current cascades of deviations to give process analysts a starting point for rational rootcause analysis if processes leave their in-control parameters. PErrCas monitors deviations online and maintains cascades of varying timespans. Hence, our approach avoids defining an observation window beforehand, which is a significant advantage due to its impracticability to predefine expected cascade properties in exploratory scenarios.

Enterprise ballot is a term often used to represent a deliberation process within a company or a consortium of companies. Such ballots are usually applied to support the decision-making process in scenarios where stakeholders and the organization have to decide on a certain subject before performing an action. However, there are few reported cases in the literature regarding enterprise ballots and their requirements. Hence, the enterprise needs are not mapped in depth, particularly in a consortium scenario. This presents challenges regarding process transparency, system reliability and user access restrictions. Therefore, an enterprise ballot system should have its own requirements to deal with this environment, ensuring a correct, verifiable and private ballot process. In this sense, this paper presents BallotBR, an enterprise ballot system built under the Libr@Blockchain project, which is supported by Libra consortium based on the ANP's Research, Development and Innovation clauses. The requirements were collected with the companies stakeholders, and the system was implemented in a permissioned blockchain, Hyperledger Fabric. Furthermore, a permissioned blockchain network was proposed to provide correctness, verifiability and privacy to the ballot process. Such a network aims to promote a trustworthy, cooperative, and reliable environment. Still, the network intends not only to enable an enterprise ballot system for a specific consortium, but to allow that, in the future, other applications be attached, connecting other companies in this ecosystem. Since we used a permissioned blockchain, companies can exchange information privately through exclusive communication channels. Moreover, we developed an integration with a digital identity and signature solution to control access to the system, and ensure the identity of users' actions within BallotBR. Last but not least, we present the identified threats to validity to expose and discuss the main concerns of our system

The globalization of the world economy increased the role of value chains, where disruptions in the realization of the logistics processes occur repeatedly. Pandemics, military conflicts, and climate change further increase the difficulties in matching demand and supply. Therefore, proper Supply Chain Management (SCM) is crucial and the digital transformation of SCM is considered an important solution for several SCM concerns. Extensive subject matter literature research highlighted that several technologies have been studied and implemented as SCM solutions contrary to the blockchain. As a result, the research aim of the article is to examine the current and future challenges of SCM with particular emphasis on blockchain technology perception in this context. Proper research has been conducted with the use of structured in-depth interviews with SCM experts. Pilot study results highlighted that blockchain is perceived as a technology with significant potential to support the creation of Digital Supply Chains. They also pointed out that blockchain is not the technology of the first choice when planning the digital transformation of SCM.

In this paper we target the current problem of evolution of heterogeneous data sources of a data warehouse. Evolution may be caused by changes in the structure of data sources that are often independent from a data warehouse as well as by changes in information requirements. The solution we introduce in this paper is based on the architecture of a data analysis system that apart from a data highway that collects and transforms data also employs a metadata repository and various tools that provide different kinds of analysis of stored data. The unique feature of our solution is an adaptation component that incorporates mechanisms for automatic discovery of changes in the structure of integrated data sets and propagation of these changes in a data warehouse and other components of a data analysis system. In addition to the presentation of our approach, we give details of approbation of our software prototype in the case study system.

The energy sector is characterized by considerable regulatory variation. Thus, for developing a new energy sector project, typical early phase business development activities need to be supplemented with a careful regulatory assessment. In this paper, we investigate to what extent contextual requirements engineering can be useful to support regulatory analyses in the energy sector. To this end, we first derive a set of requirements, and then show both the potentials and shortcomings of contextual requirements engineering for regulatory analysis. A demand side flexibility scenario, focusing on assessing the rights and obligations imposed by the European Clean Energy Package, is used for motivation and illustration purposes. Finally, we provide a discussion on working towards a modeling method, which intertwines business development and regulatory assessment.
