The globalization of the world economy increased the role of value chains, where disruptions in the realization of the logistics processes occur repeatedly. Pandemics, military conflicts, and climate change further increase the difficulties in matching demand and supply. Therefore, proper Supply Chain Management (SCM) is crucial and the digital transformation of SCM is considered an important solution for several SCM concerns. Extensive subject matter literature research highlighted that several technologies have been studied and implemented as SCM solutions contrary to the blockchain. As a result, the research aim of the article is to examine the current and future challenges of SCM with particular emphasis on blockchain technology perception in this context. Proper research has been conducted with the use of structured in-depth interviews with SCM experts. Pilot study results highlighted that blockchain is perceived as a technology with significant potential to support the creation of Digital Supply Chains. They also pointed out that blockchain is not the technology of the first choice when planning the digital transformation of SCM.

Organizations have implemented business intelligence (BI) applications to realize a variety of organizational benefits. However, a majority of BI application implementation projects are unsuccessful. One of the main reasons for the failure is end user resistance to adopt BI applications that their organization chose. Therefore, it is important to understand how to facilitate individual adoption of BI application. This study proposes a technology acceptance model for the systematic evaluation of administrative activities in public hospitals, using the example of a (BI) software package. The proposed model is based on an expanded Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and previous surveys of IT implementation success factors and reviews of relevant change management variables.

Digital Marketing, and specifically, targeted marketing online is flourishing in recent years, and is becoming evermore precise and easy to implement, given the rise of big data and algorithmic processes. This study assesses users' perceptions regarding the fairness in algorithmic targeted marketing, in conditions of scarcity. This is increasingly important because as more decisions are made by data-driven algorithms, the potential for consumers to be treated unfairly by marketers grows. Awareness of users' perceptions helps to create a more open, understandable and fair digital world without negative influences. Also, it may help both marketers and consumers to communicate effectively.

For years, industry institutions and academic researchers have been surveying software practitioners on agile software development methods adoption. These surveys have been useful in describing the characteristics, challenges, and impacts of agile adoption, mainly in Europe and North America. Latin American practitioners miss information on the state of agile adoption. This study aims to fill this gap by describing agile software development adoption in Brazil. We collected data from 897 countrywide-distributed practitioners. We used descriptive statistics and machine learning algorithms to understand our dataset. Results show the profile of companies and teams, characteristics of agile usage, perception of success, applied principles and practices, and reasons, challenges and impacts of agile adoption. We also explore the relevance of principles in software process improvements. We contribute by mapping the state-of-the-practice of agile adoption in Brazil and by contrasting our results to previous literature, which points out how we further current knowledge in academia.

Effective coordination is the key to successful agile teams. They rely on frequent interactions and mutual adjustment to manage dependencies between activities, which traditionally has been solved by co-locating the team. As the world is adjusting to post-covid work-life, companies are moving towards a work-from-anywhere approach where workers can choose to what degree they want to work from home or office. However, little is known about coordination in such a context. We report findings on developers' emerging strategies when working-from-anywhere, from an exploratory case study in Norway, including eight interviews. Our study shows that new strategies for mutual adjustment emerged as teams experimented with different tools and approaches: developers chose tasks according to location, tasks with vague requirements are performed collocated while individual tasks requiring focus are best performed at home;large meetings are virtual, preserving co-located time for collaborative tasks;using virtual rooms to maintain unscheduled meetings as they communicate mental presence to teammates, lowering the threshold for intra-team unscheduled talks. The strategies can help organizations create a productive and effective environment for developers.

Recent source code transformation techniques are adopted for coverage-driven testing to ensure software quality. However, due to the limitations present in constraint solvers of concolic testing, they lag to meet desired satisfaction level for testing safety avionics softwares. Particularly, they have the limitation of generating required number of qualitative test cases. So, we propose an agile-based automated test case augmentation technique that flips concolic based test cases that are obtained through source code transformation techniques to achieve high "Modified Condition/Decision Coverage" (MC/DC) score. This work has four technical contributions. The first contribution is code instrumentation of the input program to make it tool supportive. The second contribution is to propose a technique that can generate new effective test cases through agile process by augmenting concolic test cases. The third contribution is to propose a minimizer that can remove redundant and infeasible test cases. The fourth contribution is to propose a framework for MC/DC computation. To validate the proposed technique, it is experimented on two recent source code transformation techniques such as JPCT and JEXNCT and achieved 16.69% and 19.47% increase on MC/DC score respectively than existing technique using some benchmark input Java programs.

Big data may be studied for three use cases-adoption by an organization, actual use by its employees and effect of adopting big data. Affordance theory has been adopted to study usage and effect of information technology. The theory has two basic constituents- an organization with a goal and the IT artifacts. The organization interacts with the IT artifacts to achieve the goal. In this work, we have applied affordance theory for the adoption phase. In case of big data adoption, the organization may not be able to decide a goal for big data. The organization may not have exposure to big data and may not have required skills to decide the goal. The proposed framework addresses the issues of possible inadequacy of the organization and its existing IT artifacts. We have introduced a separate phase for deciding a goal that precedes adoption. The organization may augment its skill set and its IT artifacts with the help of external agencies for deciding a goal. The IT artifacts have been replaced with data echo system to include the management component associated with IT artifacts. In the proposed framework, we have introduced team for facilitating interaction, perceiving emerged affordances and actualizing affordances. We have used the case study method to verify the efficacy of the adopted framework. The results clearly show that the framework is effective in studying the adoption of big data analytics.

We provide actionable guidance to organizations needing to comply with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We use a data processing pipeline - Data collection, Data protection, and Data operations - to structure the discussion around regulation requirements (with references to specific articles and recitals), socio-technical challenges, and applicable security best practices and techniques. Ensuring compliance is critical since fines for infringements can mount up to 4% of the total worldwide annual turnover of the organization in the preceding financial year.

Cardiology departments receive many outpatients from primary care services and it is necessary to differentiate which patients need special attention. One-stop clinics were deployed in a hospital in Salamanca (Spain) to triage such patients, separating those who needed further examination and those who were discharged. Data (covering December 2018-August 2020) was explored and there was an iterative process in which clinicians, process miners and technical staff at the hospital interacted in special interviews or Data Rodeos. Interactive Process Indicators (IPIs) were generated. During Data Rodeos data quality problems arose and were tackled, input data was cleaned and preconditioned, process activities were discovered and modelled. The original assumption that the iterative implementation of the IPI would allow clinicians and managers to have a deeper understanding of the one-stop cardiology clinics process, was evaluated and validated by them. After each iteration, they found that the IPI was more useful and near to the reality they see everyday. The final IPI was easy to interpret by the clinicians. In the end, many key indicators were extracted, but most importantly, clinicians had a comprehensive tool that they could use by themselves, without technical assistance, to extract and interpret different indicators at any time, providing a high-quality source of information to improve patient-centered daily medical care.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the proliferation of online learning have made preventing unethical behaviors an additional task for many teachers. This article investigates the specificity of unethical behavior in online learning and formulates proposals for actions to eliminate this phenomenon. The authors assume that the Internet, as a tool for finding information and communication, enables students to engage in unethical behavior, especially at the stage of assessing the acquired knowledge. The article presents a spectrum of unethical behaviors in online learning carried out via electronic media. The historical perspective of the development of online education in connection with the development of the Internet is presented. The research was carried out using the method of a designed survey among full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students of selected universities in northern Poland. A set of ten most common unethical behaviors is determined, then the frequency of their occurrence is examined, and the relationships between them are defined. The article ends with the classification of students' unethical behaviors in online learning, proposed on the basis of the conducted research.
