Conformance checking techniques quantify correspondence between a process's execution and a reference process model using event data. Alignments, used for conformance statistics, are computationally expensive for complex models and large datasets. Recent studies show accurate approximations can be achieved by selecting subsets of model behavior. This paper presents a novel approach deriving error bounds for conformance checking approximation based on arbitrary activity sequences. The proposed approach allows for the selection of relevant subsets for improved accuracy. Experimental evaluations validate its effectiveness, demonstrating enhanced accuracy compared to traditional alignment methods.

In March 2023, the five-year AI Hospital Program in Japan was completed. Various AI-applications have been implemented in four model AI Hospitals. This paper contains the results of a multiple use case analysis of an AI Hospital using the AIDAF and the intelligence amplification design canvas. The aim of this research paper is two-fold to: 1) evaluate the utility of the AIDAF and intelligence amplification design canvas to analyse implemented AI-applications, and 2) conduct a multiple use case analysis in an AI Hospital. A focus group was created and developed a three-step process to analyse nine use cases and related AI-applications that have been implemented at Keio University Hospital using the AIDAF and intelligence amplification design canvas. First, each use case was analysed using the four guiding principles of the intelligence amplification design canvas. Second, conceptual representations were created for each use case. Third, an aggregated view of the AI Hospital was created. The results and findings were discussed in five focus group meetings. This study provides empirical support that theAIDAFand the intelligence amplification design canvas can effectively support the individual analysis of implemented AI-applications as well as conducting a multiple use case analysis. As such, this study provided insight in the current state of the AI Hospital and identified opportunities for extensions and future development in the second term of theAIHospital Program andOpenHealthcare Platform 2030 consortium. The current study was mainly based on qualitative analysis and comparison implemented AI-applications within a single organization and did not include in-depth user research. Future research may contribute to the analysis of similar use cases in other (AI-)hospitals to conduct a cross use case analysis.

Building an evaluation model of digital maturity in public hospitals, combining the data management maturity model with the digital maturity model, evaluating the research progress of digital transformation in public hospitals, and interpreting the meaning of digital maturity are all based on the systematic review of the body of literature that has already been published. The model will then be put into practice. It is discovered that public hospitals are still developing digital transformation, and there are gaps in the implementation of digital technology, data quality, and human resources. The well-established approach for evaluating digital maturity offers tools for assessments as well as insightful analysis and recommendations for the digital transformation of public hospitals.

Platforms have become an important meta-organization to orchestrate re-sources and coordinate interests in the digital economy. Market positioning is crucial for value creation and value capture by platform complementors. Based on the theory of Optimal Distinctiveness, this paper examines the relationship between Apps' positioning and their participation in Mini-Program (MP) platform. Unlike traditional digital platforms, APP needs to make decisions on positioning in light of both the platform owner and other apps within the same category on the platform. The paper finds that the more similar the APP is to the MP platform owner, the more inclined it is to participate in the platform, and the more similar it is to the positioning of other APPs within the same category of the MP platform the more inclined it is to participate in the platform. In addition, complementors with high reputation tend to have stronger relationships between positioning similarity and participation decision, complementors with better relationship with the platform owner tend to have weaker relationships between positioning similarity and participation decision. This paper deepens the understanding on the behavior and decision-making by platform complementors, and provides practical implications for complementors to make correct platform selection decisions. As an important industry in China, the structural upgrading of the manufacturing industry is a key element in promoting China's economic development. In the process of upgrading, digital finance, as an effective supplement to the traditional financial system, can better serve the real economy and help the manufacturing industry achieve transformation and upgrading. This paper selects the relevant data of manufacturing and digital finance industry in 28 provinces in China from 2011 to 2019, and analyzes the development status of manufacturing and digital finance industry from the provincial and regional levels. Firstly, the manufacturing industry is divided according to the elements using the fuzzy C-mean clustering method;secondly, the manufacturing structure advanced index at the provincial and regional levels is constructed using the vector pinch angle measurement method;finally, the constructed manufacturing structure advanced index is used to establish an econometric model to empirically analyze the impact of digital finance on the structural advancement of the manufacturing industry in four regions, namely, East, Central, West and Northeast, by using the constructed digital finance index and the total digital finance indicators, the breadth of coverage, the depth of use, and the digitalization subindexes. East, Central, West, and Northeast, and empirically analyzed the impact of regional digital finance on the advanced manufacturing structure. The results of the study can help each region to identify the effect of digital finance according to the actual situation, and reasonably use digital finance tools.

The role of software product management is key for building, implementing and managing software products. However, although there is prominent research on software product management (SPM) there are few studies that explore how this role is rapidly changing due to digitalization and digital transformation of the software-intensive industry. In this paper, we study how key trends such as DevOps, data and artificial intelligence (AI), and the emergence of digital ecosystems are rapidly changing current SPM practices. Whereas earlier, product management was concerned with predicting the outcome of development efforts and prioritizing requirements based on these predictions, digital technologies require a shift towards experimental ways-of-working and hypotheses to be tested. To support this change, and to provide guidelines for future SPM practices, we first identify the key challenges that software-intensive embedded systems companies experience with regards to current SPM practices. Second, we present an empirically derived framework for strategic digital product management (SPM4AI) in which we outline what we believe are key practices for SPM in the age of AI.

Public policies use constructive ambiguity as a linguistic and diplomatic tool to manage the conflicting views of stakeholders and facilitate policy implementation in the presence of tensions. However, the ambiguity of policy content is a knowledge problem. It can lead to misunderstandings of its ends and means and may result in failed mitigation measures for societal crises. The business Motivation Model (BMM) combined with the UML attribute elements can solve this problem by structurally decomposing the policy content into a BMM representation. This representation is an epistemic artefact that generates metaknowledge about the policy by clarifying its intentions and conceptual structure, thus decreasing the likelihood of it being misunderstood. We present the case of the Aviation Chapter of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), where we clarify its prescriptions for the European Commission (EC), Member States, and aircraft operators using BMM concepts and relationships as deductive coding patterns. The artefact has undergone artificial empirical evaluation by expert opinion (n = 15). Possible use scenarios were discussed with enterprise modellers, climate policy researchers, and aircraft industry experts concerned with EU ETS enforcement, implementation, and auditing. The BMM representation presented advantages over the policy's textual form and improved the aviation industry experts' understanding of the Chapter. Future research could look into increasing the analytical capabilities of the notation to address the needs of policy researchers working with gap analyses and co-development of policy revisions with stakeholders. Other modelling and diagramming tools should be examined to enable model durability and robustness.

The Devil's Quadrangle is a framework used in business Process Management to describe the inherent process performance trade-offs regarding the time, costs, flexibility, and quality dimensions. In practice, improving a process through one of these dimensions might have a negative effect on the performance of the other dimensions. The dimensions considered by the Devil's Quadrangle are often used for defining indicators that illustrate the overall performance of processes. From a Process Mining perspective, analyzing these dimensions at higher granularity levels, such as for every process instance, is of interest. To achieve this, this work proposes a method for defining Process Mining filters based on metrics related to performance indicators of the four Devil's Quadrangle dimensions. The metrics are calculated for every process instance, which allows using the filters to observe differences in process behavior while considering constraints to the performance indicators and tradeoffs among the four dimensions. It is expected that this visualization will be helpful during exploratory process analysis. It will facilitate the identification of process instances that conform to the filters applied to the performance indicators, as well as the dimensions where improvement is required while considering process instances that do not conform to the applied filters. A Celonis dashboard with the proposed filters has been generated to validate the method.

The design of ontologies is a time-consuming and resourceintensive endeavour. Rather than (manually) design the ontology first and then associate it with data, can we (semiautomatically) design the ontology from the data itself? This paper presents a novel approach to the semi-automated design of ontologies that incorporates axiom generation from data models, semantic parsing, and ontology learning from examples and counterexamples via search through an ontology repository.
