In the competitive e-commerce market, it is important to understand how perceived customer service quality affects consumer purchase decisions. This study analyses the effects of service quality, information quality, waiting time, and system quality on purchase decisions using logistic regression. The analysis is based on actual business data from an insurance company. The study confirms that all four dimensions of perceived quality significantly impact consumers' purchase decisions. To explore the influence path of perceived quality on consumers' purchasing decisions, we constructed a structural equation model through a questionnaire survey. The results verified the degree of influence of perceived quality on consumers' purchasing decisions, as well as the mediating role of perceived value. This finding offers a strategic foundation for enterprises to enhance their online customer service platforms, improve their customer service capabilities, and refine their performance appraisal systems. This will help to improve the perceived quality of e-commerce customer service and further enhance consumers' purchase decisions.

This paper investigates two different promotion strategies of e-commerce platforms, i.e., the cross-store discount strategy and the purchase subsidy strategy. We take the additional utility and the degree of merchant concessions on price under the cross-store discount strategy into account and analyze how they affect platforms' optimal promotion strategy. Result shows that the additional utility is the determining factor of platforms' strategy choice. More precisely, when the two platforms adopt different promotion strategies, only when the additional utility is greater than a certain threshold may adopting the cross-store discount strategy bring more profits, and the threshold of the additional utility depends on promotion costs and the degree of merchant concessions on price. When the two platforms adopt the same promotion strategy, without the consideration of promotion costs, adopting the cross-store discount strategy simultaneously can make the platforms more profitable. In addition, whether a platform should change its promotion strategy depends on the value of the additional utility under the cross-store discount strategy. When the value of that utility is within a certain interval, both the platforms tend to maintain their original promotion strategy.

New technology industry policies play an important role in stimulating organizational transformation and motivating their strategic actions in responding to the policies. By developing an integrated method of dynamic topic modeling (DTM) and word embedding from BERT (referred to herein as DTM-EM), this study constructs a domain-specific dictionary to measure policy response in Electric Vehicle (EV) industry. The study initially employs dynamic topic modeling to extract key terms representing various themes in policy texts. Subsequently, utilizing similarity measures, it identifies synonymous terms corresponding to the key terms in the policy text, forming a word set for the policy text. Finally, utilizing similarity measures once again, it derives synonymous terms from the annual reports that is associated with the key words in the word set for the policy text to constructs a domain-specific dictionary. Furthermore, this study evaluates the accuracy of the dictionary formeasure response dimension and features of Chinese publicly listed companies from 2009-2023.

The use of algorithmic control is commonplace in gig economy platforms. Algorithms may direct, evaluate, or discipline gig workers to enforce their compliance, or conversely, trigger their reactance. This paper explores the impact of algorithmic control on ride-hailing drivers' coping behavior. Based on the legitimacy process model, we develop a research model that links perceived algorithmic control to gig drivers' compliance and workaround behaviors. Using survey data from 197 ride-hailing drivers, we find that perceived algorithmic control positively affects fairness and privacy judgment. Fairness judgment has a positive impact on compliance behavior, and privacy judgment has a negative impact on workaround behavior. The paper discusses theoretical and practical implications.

The advent of serverless computing has revolutionized the landscape of cloud computing, offering a new paradigm that enables developers to focus solely on their applications rather than managing and provisioning the underlying infrastructure. These applications involve integrating individual functions into a cohesive workflow for complex tasks. The pay-per-use model and nontransparent reporting by cloud providersmake it difficult to estimate serverless costs, impeding informed business decisions. Existing research studies on serverless computing focus on performance optimization and state management, both from empirical and technical perspectives. However, the state-of-the-art shows a lack of empirical investigations on the understanding of the cost dynamics of serverless computing over traditional cloud computing. Therefore, this study delves into how organizations anticipate the costs of adopting serverless. It also aims to comprehend workload suitability and identify best practices for cost optimization of serverless applications. To this end, we conducted a qualitative (interviews) study with 15 experts from 8 companies involved in themigration and development of serverless systems. The findings revealed that, while serverless computing is highly suitable for unpredictable workloads, it may not be cost-effective for certain high-scale applications. The study also introduces a taxonomy for comparing the cost of adopting serverless versus traditional cloud.

Hackathons are themed, fast-paced events where participants gather in teams to work on a project of their interest. Hackathons are often organized to drive entrepreneurial behavior, however, little is known about how they have supported startup creation. To address this issue, we conducted a cross-sectional survey among hackathon participants about their motivations for participating in a hackathon including creating a new startup product and advancing their careers. The survey also addressed their perceived hackathon benefits related to entrepreneurship, such as learning and networking, and how useful they were to their startups. Moreover, the survey included aspects of the hackathon setting that may have influenced startup creation, including winning awards. We obtained answers from participants who have attended 48-h, in-person hackathons. We found motivations related to entrepreneurship that were related to startup creation, such as learning about the startup domain. Our findings show that participants with entrepreneurial motivations are more likely to create a startup after the hackathon. We also found that participants with startups in an early stage have attended hackathons motivated to build the initial version of their startup product, however, they have also worked on other projects unrelated to their startup. To support startup creation beyond hackathons, organizers should gain awareness of such hackathon participants who are motivated by entrepreneurship.

Based on the aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA), this paper proposed a topic clustering extension method that integrated LDA topic information and BERT context information, constructed the topics and their keyword sequences of microblog comments related to the epidemic policy, and obtained different emotional polarity of those comments on different aspects. Then, based on the Smith policy implementation process model, an empirical model was built to explore the mechanism of different factors in the process of epidemic policy implementation on public emotion. The results turned out that: (1) With the adjustment and optimization of the epidemic policy, the public emotional feedback showed a temporary peak of positive emotion first, followed by a gradual disappearance or a stronger peak of negative emotion;(2) At different stages of epidemic policy, the public concerns were different, but the negative emotion was overwhelming;(3) In the process of the epidemic policy implementation, the construction of medical resources environment was of great significance. The low accessibility of epidemic prevention resources could significantly weaken the performance of personal health protection self-efficacy and indirectly trigger negative emotion;(4) The comprehensive effectiveness of information content and the timely accuracy of information quality could indirectly promote positive emotional feedback by enhancing the self-efficacy for health protection of target groups and improving the government image.

More and more people are getting travel information through various types of travel social sharing platform(TSSP). Digital reputation is an essential trait of social media;the higher the digital reputation, the more likely are TSSP to be trusted by users for social media reviews to be adopted. We used an elaboration likelihood model that measures the impact of peripheral cues (e.g., digital reputation) and corresponding central cues (e.g., review trust) related to social presence on TSSP on travelers' review adoption behavior. We empirically analyzed 539 respondents who adopted travel reviews via TSSP. Our findings suggest that review trust has a positive impact on perceived usefulness, and digital reputation has a positive impact on perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness has a significant positive effect on travel review adoption. Finally, it was found that TSSP members' perceived level of trust in review and digital reputation varied depending on the level of social presence.

Software architecture is concerned with identifying the essential components of a software system and the process of creating an abstract representation of the system. A representation encompasses software elements, their properties and relationships with other elements. Similar to the architecture of a physical building, it serves as a blueprint for both the system itself and the development process, delineating the tasks to be carried out by the development team. In e-business, a wide variety of such architectures can be found. These have evolved over time, and the emergence and subsequent developments of the Internet have been decisive factors in shaping applications and their associated software architectures. In the 1980s, the purpose of an application was to run on a single computer, but today, applications are increasingly interconnected and accessible from anywhere. Practitioners have realized that a sound architecture is critical for success in both design and development. In order to incorporate domain-specific semantics, knowledge graphs must become a key ingredient to architectural thinking and the codification of principles, methods, and practices has led to repeatable architectural design processes. However, despite these advancements, the field of software architecture remains relatively immature in its relation to knowledge graphs and how to leverage them for e-business towards this goal, traditional architectural patterns such as MVCs will be revisited in this paper.

Studies on the effects of digital transformation on enterprise architectures (EA) indicate that variability in the EA increases on different levels, such as the business and the data architecture. Dealingwith variability becomes a common challenge in the daily operations of many enterprises and requires methodical and technological support. Methodical support for controlling variability in EA can help enterprises manage variability more efficiently. In this context, the conjecture motivating this paper is that building blocks integrating business and data architecture or allowing for data-aware business process building blocks can help to ensure a high level of flexibility and, at the same time, control complexity in variability management. The paper aims to contribute to a better understanding of the requirements, necessary activities and frame conditions of method support for variability management of EA. The paper's main contribution is an initial method for identifying building blocks in enterprise architecture models that integrate several architecture layers and a way to capture such building blocks as ArchiMate models.
