The recommended interpretation of the "What" facet in the Zachman Framework is that it serves as a data-centric viewpoint on the enterprise, capturing data requirements across several layers of abstraction - from high-level business concepts down to implemented data entities. In enterprise modelling, these have been traditionally approached through well-established practices and modelling techniques - i.e., Entity-Relationship models, UML class models and other types of popular data model types. In the current context of digital transformation and agile enterprise relying on distributed information systems, certain technological specifics are lost when employing traditional methods acting on a high level of abstraction. For example, the Linked Data paradigm advocates specific data distribution, publishing and retrieval techniques that would be useful if assimilated on a modelling level - in what could be characterised as technology-specific modelling methods (mirroring the field of domain-specific languages, but from a technological perspective). This paper proposes an agile modelling language that provides a diagrammatic and, at the same time, machine-readable integration of several of the Zachman Framework facets. In this language, the "What" facet covers concepts met in a Linked Enterprise Data environment - e.g., graph servers, graph databases, RESTful HTTP requests. These have been conceptualised in the proposed language and implemented in a way that allows the generation of a particular kind of code - process-driven orchestration of PHP-based SPARQL client requests.

Making decisions is part of the everyday life of any organization. Documenting such decisions is important to allow organizational members to learn from past mistakes, and to support newcomers in adjusting into the organization. However, nowadays, decisions are usually documented in unstructured ways, which makes it hard to find and interpret them. In this work, we propose the alignment of goals and decision modeling, by using two existing modeling notations, namely i* and DMN. This alignment is based on a semantic approach, in which the elements of the notations are mapped into a decision-making ontology, also developed in the context of this work.

Service organizations increasingly understand the importance of managing the customer experience to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. This study aims to develop a better understanding of the customer experience by investigating how the customer's internal mechanisms influence it. That is, how it is perceived and processed at three different levels (visceral, behavioral and reflective), which determines a person's cognitive and emotional state. To this purpose an exploratory multi-method ethnographic study was undertaken in a healthcare service. The results showed the emotions provoked by the service experience at each level. These levels are interconnected and impact each other working together to influence a person's cognitive and emotional state, and thus playing a critical role in the overall evaluation of a service. Results show that elements such as servicescape aesthetics, face-to-face and non-human interactions influence emotions and service evaluations. The service should be designed in a way that induces positive emotions, and a feeling of being in control. Especially in healthcare services there is a need to balance the conflicting responses of the emotional stages that may be triggered at the visceral and behavioral levels, while providing reassurance and calm at the reflective level that the health problem is going to be taken care. Using service design approaches this understanding of the customers' brain can be translated into improving the customer experience.

Process and data are equally important for business process management. Data-driven approaches in process analytics aims to value decisions that can be backed up with verifiable private and open data. Over the last few years, data-driven analysis of how knowledge workers and customers interact in social contexts, often with data obtained from social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook, have become a vital asset for organizations. For example, governments started to extract knowledge and derive insights from vastly growing open data to improve their services. A key challenge in analyzing social data is to understand the raw data generated by social actors and prepare it for analytic tasks. In this context, it is important to transform the raw data into a contextualized data and knowledge. This task, known as data curation, involves identifying relevant data sources, extracting data and knowledge, cleansing, maintaining, merging, enriching and linking data and knowledge. In this paper we present CrowdCorrect, a data curation pipeline to enable analysts cleansing and curating social data and preparing it for reliable business data analytics. The first step offers automatic feature extraction, correction and enrichment. Next, we design micro-tasks and use the knowledge of the crowd to identify and correct information items that could not be corrected in the first step. Finally, we offer a domain-model mediated method to use the knowledge of domain experts to identify and correct items that could not be corrected in previous steps. We adopt a typical scenario for analyzing Urban Social Issues from Twitter as it relates to the Government Budget, to highlight how CrowdCorrect significantly improves the quality of extracted knowledge compared to the classical curation pipeline and in the absence of knowledge of the crowd and domain experts.

Blockchain technology bears the potential to support the execution of inter-organizational business processes in an efficient way. Furthermore, it addresses various notorious problems of collaboratively designing choreographies and overcoming lack of trust. In this paper, we discuss this potential in more detail and highlight several research challenges that future research has to address towards generic blockchain support for inter-organizational business processes in various application scenarios.

Capabilities represent key abilities of an enterprise and they encompass knowledge and resources needed to realize these abilities. They are developed and delivered in various modes including in-house and as a service delivery. The as a service delivery mode is provided in the cloud environment. The cloud-based approach allows offering capabilities possessed by the service provider to a large number of potential consumers, supports quick deployment of the capability delivery environment and enables information sharing among the users. The paper describes a cloud-based capability management model, which support multi-tenant and private modes. The architecture and technology of the cloud-based capability development and delivery environment is elaborated. The pattern repository shared among capability users is a key component enabling information sharing. Additionally, this paper also shows usage of the cloud-based capability and delivery environment to build cloud native capability delivery applications.

Design Thinking has become popular in the management and innovation context but remains mostly misunderstood, as a result of broad interpretations and the lack of empirical research on the subject. This paper aims to reduce the gap between the academic and industrial perspectives on Design Thinking, by reviewing publications focused on three aspects: (1) studies aimed at defining the concept, (2) empirical case studies about its use or adoption, and (3) models or methods proposed to overcome its main challenges. The existing literature suggests that multiple definitions for Design Thinking coexist with some commonly understood design practices, both among designer and non-designer practitioners alike. The challenge most frequently mentioned is the clash of existing organizational structures with the flexibility and unpre-dictability of Design Thinking This paper outlines two different approaches to address such challenge and proposes a definition that brings together the academic and enterprise perspectives of Design Thinking.

business process management systems are used to orchestrate the activities in an organization. These information systems allocate resources to perform activities based on information that describes those resources and activities. It is widely recognized that resource allocation can be enhanced by considering resource characteristics during selection. However, little guidance is available that shows how such characteristics should be specified. Human ability is one such characteristic, with the advantage that it is well-defined in the Fleishman Taxonomy of Human Abilities. This paper presents a method that leverages the Fleishman taxonomy to specify activities and human resources. Those specifications are then used to allocate resources to activities during process run-time. We show how ability-based resource allocation can be implemented in a business process management system and evaluate the method in a real-world scenario.

Interactive process discovery allows users to specify domain knowledge while discovering process models with the help of event logs. Typically the coherence of an event log and a process model is calculated using conformance analysis. Many state-of-the-art conformance techniques emphasize on the correctness of the results, and hence can be slow, impractical and undesirable in interactive process discovery setting, especially when the process models are complex. In this paper, we present a framework (and its application) to calculate conformance fast enough to guide the user in interactive process discovery. The proposed framework exploits the underlying techniques used for interactive process discovery in order to incrementally update the conformance results. We trade the accuracy of conformance for performance. However, the user is also provided with some diagnostic information, which can be useful for decision making in an interactive process discovery setting. The results show that our approach can be considerably faster than the traditional approaches and hence better suited in an interactive setting.

In this paper, we consider aggregation algorithms for SUM operator for uncertain stream processing. Deterministic algorithms can not be used here because of uncertain data and high rates of data change, time and memory constraints. We compare the most promising available methods. Instead of full distribution functions of query result, we use a set of six parameters based on key moments and quantiles to describe the distributions. It enables us to perform fast recomputations of the aggregation with O(1) complexity. Experimental results demonstrate good performance of uncertain aggregation in comparison to deterministic case. We also found that usage of central limit theorem may be restricted to problems where data satisfy certain conditions.
