Motivated by the energy domain, we examine a risk-averse buyer that has to purchase a fixed quantity of a continuous good. The buyer has two opportunities to buy: now or later. The buyer can spread the quantity over the two timeslots in any way, as long as the total quantity remains the same. The current price is known, but the future price is not. It is well known that risk neutral buyers purchase in whichever timeslot they expect to be the cheapest, regardless of the uncertainty of the future price. Research suggests, however, that most people may in fact be risk-averse. If the future price is expected to be lower than the current price, but very uncertain, then they may prefer to purchase in the present, or spread the quantity over both timeslots. We describe a formal model with a uniform price distribution and a piecewise linear risk aversion function. We provide a theorem that states the optimal behavior as a closed-form expression, and we give a proof of this theorem.

The increasing popularity of data analytics comes together with the many approaches, methods, algorithms, and tools used in different tasks of analytics. When facing a new example of an application of analytics methods with its particular requirements, it would be useful to have an open repository where the experience of the use of different analytical tools is amalgamated. This research in progress paper presents the first results and challenges in the creation of such a repository. The challenges are related to variability in classification, granularity, field of application, purpose of research and other factors. The proposed structure of the repository meets these challenges to some extent and builds the foundation for further development of the repository.

Process model similarity measures can be utilized for searching process model collections, which is also called similarity-based search. While there are quite a lot of approaches, most of them base on an underlying alignment between the activities of the compared process models. Yet, according to the results of the process model matching contests conducted in recent years, such an alignment seems to be quite difficult to achieve. The Latent Semantic Analysis-based Similarity Search approach described in this paper circumvents the matching challenge by not requiring such a matching. Instead, it uses a Latent Semantic Analysis-based Similarity Measure to query model collections and retrieve similar models. An evaluation with a collection of 80 models resulted in very good results in terms of Precision, Recall, and F-Measure. The best F-Measure value obtained during the experiments was 0.92.

Empirical Research is becoming increasingly important for understanding the practical uses and problems with business processes technology in the field. However, no standardization on how to report observations and findings exists. This sometimes leads to research outcomes which report partial or incomplete data and make published results of replicated studies on different data sets hard to compare. In order to help the research community improve reporting on business process models and collections and their characteristics, this paper defines a modular template with the aim of reports' standardization, which could also facilitate the creation of shared business process repositories to foster further empirical research in the future. The template has been positively evaluated by representatives from both BPM research and industry. The survey feedback has been incorporated in the template. We have applied the template to describe a real-world executable WS-BPEL process collection, measured from a static and dynamic perspective.

Shared procedures to build a consensus within a group decision process are sometimes used in multi-criteria decision-making. Facilitators often face several challenges and the solutions to overcome them are scarce and not well documented. This paper presents a case study within a decision framework that combines problem structuring with the multi-criteria decision aid method MACBETH in order to build a shared preference model. The framework was applied in a transportation planning context with a group of professionals from Quebec City, Canada to assess and rank streets as a function of their potential to become Complete Streets. The analysis of the process showed that difficulties in expressing preferences, access to data during workshops, group size, group discussion management, and project length were encountered. Nonetheless, the proposed framework and the use of sub-groups to build criteria scales were a way to overcome these challenges and allowed us to successfully complete the project.

business process management is an approach to improve business processes continuously. While factors like cost, quality and time are usually considered, sustainability considerations often fade into the background. With this study, we try to support the improvement of business processes with regard to sustainability. We present a process model that describes an approach of how to integrate sustainability aspects into business process management. We also present a catalogue to support the identification of improvement potential. We execute the process model and the catalogue using an existing business process. Finally, we present a summary and outline shortly the limitations and opportunities for future work.

Nowadays, many studies revealed a mismatch between job's offers and demands on job market due to several factors such as the lack of reliable data and the shortage role of public mediators. Therefore we proposed a new support system for the management of unemployment. For this purpose, we have applied a Search Hierarchical Association Rules for Knowledge algorithm (SHARK) in order to bring light on individual determinants of unemployment duration in Tunisia. Hence, Discrete-choice models have been used to establish a accurate mechanism which describes the behaviour of long-term unemployed in Tunisia. Thus, we developed a simulator to estimate efficiently the unemployment duration in order to enhance the process of matching by public intermediaries.

Mobile computing and the Internet of Things promises massive amounts of data for big data analytic and machine learning. A data sharing economy is needed to make that data available for companies that wish to develop smart systems and services. While digital markets for trading data are emerging, there is no consolidated understanding of how to price data products and thus offer data vendors incentives for sharing data. This paper uses a combined keyword search and snowballing approach to systematically review the literature on the pricing of data products that are to be offered on marketplaces. The results give insights into the maturity and character of data pricing. They enable practitioners to select a pricing approach suitable for their situation and researchers to extend and mature data pricing as a topic.

In this paper we study the prenegotiation process of eliciting the negotiators' preferences and building the negotiation offer scoring system. We analyze how the agents build the formal and quantitative scoring systems based on the preferential information provided by their principals. The results of the bilateral negotiation experiment conducted in Inspire negotiation system are analyzed, in which the simple direct rating technique (SMARTS-like approach) is implemented to evaluate the negotiation problem and build scoring systems. The concordance of such scoring systems with the principal's preferences was determined using the cardinal and ordinal inaccuracy measures. Then for each agent the scoring system was determined using UTASTAR method based on the same preference structures subjectively declared for direct rating. Finally, the inaccuracy of scoring systems obtained by means of both methods was compared.

We believe there are still gaps in our knowledge of the facilitator role in group decision support processes and these must be "de-mystified" if use of these methods is to become more widespread. We use the design and analysis of online group model building to form a better understanding of the facilitator role. Our experimental configuration makes use of Group Explorer (Decision Explorer), configured to be delivered across the Internet in a distributed manner. The facilitator is thus no more or less visible in the workshop as any other participant. Data from a workshop is analysed and the findings discussed in relation to the following works;(i) Callon on translation, (ii) Hiltz et al. on the problem of animating methodology, and (iii) White and Taket's "death of the expert". We conclude by discussing one possible end-point of this work the rise of a participant-led group decision support process model.
