Research has dealt many times with behavior as success factor for negotiation outcome. So far, these factors are limited to a specific negotiation situation while no insights into a negotiator's most recommendable behavior for successive episodes exist. Accordingly, in this work, the effect of pre-negotiation behavior on the main negotiation episode is examined through a buyer-seller negotiation experiment. Records of online chats were investigated by means of content analysis and combined with questionnaire results in order to reveal behavioral patterns in the pre-negotiation and their consequences onto the main negotiation. Two main behavioral streams have been identified: visionary behavior that emphasizes future collaboration in a positive setting and power-related behavior that rather discloses dominating and imposing elements. This study found that visionary behavior in the pre-negotiation episode leads to more success than a power-related behavior in terms of the general agreement on a negotiation's conduction and the opponent's concession attitude.

Event handling is a fundamental concept for the implementation of business processes. It enables the specification of how a process communicates with its environment and how this environment influences the execution of a process. However, even feature-rich languages for process specification such as BPMN are severely limited in their event handling semantics. They largely neglect the design choices to be made when deciding on when to subscribe to event sources and how to retrieve events for a particular process instance. In this paper, we therefore propose a model for event handling in business processes that is grounded in explicit subscriptions and event buffering. This model is integrated in BPMN using its extension mechanism and comes with formal execution semantics. Based on the latter, we further show how existing techniques for verification and adapter synthesis can be leveraged to analyse the interactions of a business process. Finally, we demonstrate the feasibility of our event handling model by means of an implementation in Camunda, an open- source process engine.

Verification methods to detect errors in the behavior of process models can be formal or informal. The former are based on formal languages, whereas the latter are based on heuristics. The main advantage of informal methods with respect to the formal ones is their short run-time. However, heuristics may lead to false positives, i.e. they may detect errors in a process model even though such model is correct. In this work, we propose using ontologies to formalize heuristics that avoid false positive scenarios. With ontologies it is possible to avoid ambiguities in heuristics that may lead to inaccurate implementations and to enable their execution by ontology reasoners. To this aim, we propose a set of false positive scenarios and define SWRL rules and SPARQL queries to formalize heuristics for such scenarios by means of ontologies. In addition, we identified three requirements that should be met in order to formalize heuristics and their false positive scenarios.

Mobile commerce (M-commerce) as an extension of e-commerce is a huge success in many countries. The number of mobile phone subscribers and revenues that are generated are growing rapidly, demonstrating the great potential of M-commerce. This may explain the eager of theorists to understand and explain the factors that explain the intention of its adoption. However, we noticed that many studies have been conducted using traditional adoptions theories and models that focus mainly on technological aspects and they ignored the fact that the user of m-commerce is a consumer. In this study we tried to explore the factors influencing the intention to adopt mobile commerce in Tunisia from value perspective. The results of this study show that perceived emotional value and perceived quality value are influencing the intention of adoption of mobile commerce in Tunisia. Several limitations and future directions of research are discussed.

Software startups face with multiple technical and business challenges, which could make the startup journey longer, or even become a failure. Little is known about entrepreneurial decision making as a direct force to startup development outcome. In this study, we attempted to apply a behavior theory of entrepreneurial firms to understand the root-cause of some software startup's challenges. Six common challenges related to prototyping and product development in twenty software startups were identified. We found the behavior theory as a useful theoretical lens to explain the technical challenges. Software startups search for local optimal solutions, emphasize on short-run feedback rather than long-run strategies, which results in vague prototype planning, paradox of demonstration and evolving throw-away prototypes. The finding implies that effectual entrepreneurial processes might require a more suitable product development approach than the current state-of-practice.

The article is related to the problem of implementing consistent changes in the model of some subject area and in the syntax of domain specific language (DSL), dealing with problems in that domain. In our research, we explore an opportunity to provide the method of co-evolution of the ontology, used as a model of the subject area, and DSL. This method combines graph representation of the ontology and DSL with the set of rules, formulated in terms of an automated graph-transformation language. Applicability of the proposed approach is demonstrated using a real-life example of co-evolution of the ontology and DSL in the railway transportation domain.

Although business process modelling is an increasingly popular research area for both organisations and enterprises due to its usefulness in optimizing resources management, business reengineering and business performance, it is not yet widely accepted in Small and Medium size Enterprises (SMEs), which are vital for sustainable economy development. The understanding of business Process is an essential approach for an Organization to achieve set objectives and improve its operations. It has been able to show business Analysts, and Managers where bottleneck exists in the system, how to optimize the business Process to reduce cost of running the Organization, and the required resources needed for an Organization. This is clear for large scale organizations and enterprises but under research investigation for SMEs. business Process Modelling (BPM) is a representation of the processes of the Organization. Several modelling techniques have been proposed and used to capture the characteristics of business processes. However, limited guidelines exist for selecting appropriate modelling techniques based on the characteristics of the problem and its requirements. This is even more accurate in the case of selecting proper BPM software tools to achieve those BPM modelling and simulation goals. This paper aims at presenting a comparative analysis of some relatively popular business process modelling techniques focusing on the associated software tools. The comparative framework proposed is based on the following major criteria: data flow capability, logical reasoning and understandability, specification of roles, and capability of simulation, flexibility and ease of use, simulation support and scope. However, the emphasis of this investigation is put on SME applicability of these tools and techniques. Classification of short text (SMS, reviews, feedback, etc.) presents a unique set of challenges compared to classic text classification. Short texts are characterized by cryptic constructions, poor spelling, improper grammar, etc. that makes the application of traditional methods difficult. Proper classification enables us to use this information for further action. We study this problem in the context of online auctions. The paper presents a score assigning approach which outperforms traditional methods (e.g. Naive Bayes) in terms of accuracy.

Finished product planning is a key business process for companies. It is about finding the balance between service levels and cost, and is therefore critical for the success of the company. The current digital era is characterized by increasing globalization and a fast evolution in new technologies (e.g. social media, mobile, cloud, big data analytics, Internet of Things and smart devices). Since organizations are exponentially challenged to achieve business results more effectively and efficiently, topics such as process performance and the constant search for optimizations and transformations are key. business Process Management (BPM) and digital innovation are both ways for organizations to constantly improve, change and excel. Nonetheless, more research is needed on the intersection between these two approaches. While current literature acknowledges a link between BPM and digital innovation, this study digs deeper into the digital innovation strategies that organizations apply to incorporate technological transformations into their business processes. Based on our survey findings, we open the discussion about the strength of the assumed relationship between BPM and digital innovation, and which implications can be drawn.
