Agile Software Development (ASD) is becoming more popular in all fields of industry. For an agile transformation, organizations need to continuously improve their established approaches to Requirements Engineering (RE) as well as their approaches to software development. This is accompanied by some challenges in terms of agile RE. The main objective of this paper is to identify the most important challenges in agile RE industry has to face today. Therefore, we conducted an iterative expert judgement process with 26 experts in the field of ASD, comprising three complementary rounds. In sum, we identified 20 challenges in three rounds. Six of these challenges are defined as key challenges. Based on the results, we provide options for dealing with those key challenges by means of agile techniques and tools. The results show that the identified challenges are often not limited to ASD, but they rather refer to software development in general. Therefore, we can conclude that organizations still struggle with agile transition and understanding agile values, in particular, in terms of stakeholder and user involvement.

We propose methods for ranking subtopics of a keyword query. Subtopics are also keyword queries which specialize and/or disambiguate search intent behind their original query. information on subtopics are useful for search systems to generate diversified search results. Search result diversification is important when there are multiple ways to interpret the submitted query. In search result diversification, it is important to rank subtopics by their intent probabilities that users need information on the subtopics. Our subtopic ranking methods use hierarchical structure in documents in the corpus. Hierarchical structure in documents consists of nested logical blocks with headings. A heading describes the topic of a part of a document, and a block is such a part of a document. All our methods are based on two assumptions related to the structure. First, hierarchical headings in a document represent hierarchical topics discussed in the document. Second, authors write more contents about subtopics with higher intent probabilities. Based on these assumptions, our methods score each subtopic based on the total size of the blocks whose hierarchical headings represent the subtopic. We develop our methods in the following way. We first propose four methods to score a subtopic on a document, four methods to integrate subtopic scores on multiple documents, and two methods to sort subtopics based on their scores. We then combined these methods, which results in 32 subtopic ranking methods in total. We evaluated these methods on the data set for the subtopic mining subtask of the NTCIR-10 INTENT-2 task. The results indicated that our methods generated rankings statistically significantly better than the query completion snapshots by major commercial search engines.

The application of Semantic Web technologies has the potential to overcome the limitations of classic WWW architectures and can be used to build Web portals with enhanced semantic interoperability. This paper proposes an innovative approach to implement e-learning portals components using state of the art Semantic Web technologies. We propose a new architecture in which a number of components are to be described and modeled using the Linked Data technological space built around RDF [24]. Creating and incorporating a virtual library based on RDF allows the combination of semantic links between resources, with the possibility of extending these semantics. At the application level, there will be entities capable of processing information in an intelligent manner and capable of reasoning, thus offering complex services like data search, resources retrieval, monitoring applications' activities or information filtering for both machines and people.

Digitization changes business processes and enterprise architectures in many sectors. In the Tourism sector more and more data must be analyzed and integrated into business processes. Therefore, the current architecture must be changed to a more flexible, data-driven one. A retrospective is a standard agile meeting practice designed for agile software teams to reflect and tune their process. Despite its integral importance, we know little about what aspects are focused upon during retrospectives and how reflection occurs in this practice. We conducted Case Study research involving data collected from interviews of sixteen software practitioners from four agile teams and observations of their retrospective meetings. We found that the important aspects focused on during the retrospective meeting include identifying and discussing obstacles, discussing feelings, analyzing previous action points, identifying background reasons, identifying future action points and generating a plan. Reflection occurs when the agile teams embody these aspects within three levels of reflection: reporting and responding, relating and reasoning, and reconstructing. Critically, we show that agile teams may not achieve all levels of reflection simply by performing retrospective meetings. One of the key contributions of our work is to present a reflection framework for agile retrospective meetings that explains and embeds three levels of reflection within the five steps of a standard agile retrospective. Agile teams can use this framework to achieve better focus and higher levels of reflection in their retrospective meetings.

With the growth of machine learning and other computationally intensive techniques for analyzing data, new opportunities emerge to repurpose organizational information sources. In this study, we explore the effectiveness of unstructured data entry formats in repurposing organizational data in solving new tasks and drawing novel business insights. Unstructured data accounts for more than 80% of the organizational data. Our research analyzes the implications of using unstructured data entry formats for propagation of organizational styles. We study this phenomenon in the context of case management in foster care. Using natural language processing and machine learning, we show that unstructured data formats foster entrenchment and propagation of individual organizational styles and deviations from the industry norms. Our findings have important implications both to theory and practice of business analytics, conceptual modeling, organizational theory and general data management.

Personalized event recommendations are a challenging task. Unlike other items such as movies or restaurants, events often come with an expiration date. User ratings are usually not available before the event date and become dispensable after the event has taken place. In this work, we present the benefits and challenges of mobile and context-aware event recommender systems (RSs). We summarize basics and related work covering the most important requirements for developing event RSs. We developed a hybrid algorithm for context-aware event recommendations and integrated it into an Android prototype. Results of a two-week user study show that our RS provides useful recommendations. Based on our findings, we outline future challenges in the field of event recommendations: Improving the context-awareness, recommendations for different user and event types and an integration of event recommendations into city trip planners.

The objective of this article is to identify the best e-banking services in the most popular banks in Poland in 2016 from the point of view of an individual client. Electronic banking leads to strengthening the position of a particular bank in the competitive market environment. Thus, the high quality of its website frequently plays a major role regarding the perception of the bank. This paper focuses on the ways to secure and strengthen the position of a bank in the sector using its website to enhance its image, improve usability and communication with clients. Following a brief introduction describing the situation of electronic banking in Poland, the authors present the assumptions adopted for the conducted research. Subsequently, on the basis of the obtained findings, the authors have carried out multidimensional analyses and presented the resultant conclusions and recommendations. The authors original contribution was specifying the criteria used for websites evaluation and applying the conversion method constructed by them for conducting such analyses.

In this paper, we analyze speaker identification and present identification test results on Lithuanian native speakers' database LIEPA. Two approaches for speaker acoustic modeling are examined. We start by extracting MFCC features from audio samples, then we feed this data to create speaker acoustic model with hidden Markov models (1) and with deep neural networks (2). We compare both methods by nalyzing the subset of samples from LIEPA database. This helps to achieve more than 96% identification accuracy on sample dataset.

The paper analyzes the way in which different attributes of the community service are taken into consideration among the indicators used in international university rankings. Also, the paper discusses the extent to which these factors influence positioning of the university in the overall ranking. For this purpose, eleven international rankings of world universities have been examined to identify those indicators that address community service issues. These are meant to measure how seriously a university takes its obligations to society by investing in community. Furthermore, two main criteria form the basis of analysis, namely social responsibility and regional engagement, as these include explicit measures for community service. The results suggest that there is a positive correlation between ranking in social responsibility and the overall ranking for universities investigated, and between ranking in regional engagement and overall ranking, but of different intensity.
