Over the past decades, technological advances have drastically changed the way organizations work. One thing that has not changed however, is that they are still required to draft, maintain and manage documents. Nowadays most of these documents are drawn up and stored in an electronic way. Yet their structure is in essence still the same as their analogue and physical predecessors. In this paper, we present a new modular approach to document management that enables the design of content-agnostic and evolvable documents. This new approach imagines documents as multidimensional and ever-changing entities instead of mere static representation of their analogue predecessors. Based on modularity and Normalized Systems reasoning, this approach represents an alternative to the out-of-date paradigm of document management that is currently used. Modularity-based document management leads to easier maintenance of the text modules as they offer a clear aggregate structure and any information is stored in only one text module. This enables both re-use and greater versatility of the information stored in the text modules. As such, the approach presented in this paper enables the creation of truly evolvable documents according to the Normalized Systems theory.

Traceability between artefacts from different domains (e.g. requirements management or test data management) is important in the software development process. Therefore modern application lifecycle management solutions support traceability links between these artefacts. But the support of traceability links into the source code is still very rudimentary or does not exist at all, although the source code is of central importance. Traceability links between artefacts in a repository and source code can break very easily when changing the text. To solve this problem we store the source code as Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) in a repository. A special editor for the source code, which supports refactoring, makes robust traceability between the AST artefacts and other artefacts possible. The repository provides the version history of all AST artefacts including their traceability links for a better understanding of changes over time. This paper introduces an implementation of such a system based on Eclipse.

Enterprise Architecture advocates the use of models to support decisions about organizational changes aligned with the organization's strategy and vision. However, few existing tools support change impact analysis and automated model updates. This paper proposes a software tool, that supports co-evolution of the enterprise architecture meta-model and conforming model as well as prior change impact analysis of the model. The proposal focuses on the architecture and user interface of the software tool that is now being developed.

Tourist information support is very important due to the fact that a tourist has to make decisions in dynamic and unfamiliar environment. One of the popular types of tourist decision support is recommendations (of attractions to see, events, transportation routes, etc.). However, each of the classical approaches for making recommendations relies heavily on the availability of particular information. This paper proposes a multi-model approach to recommendation systems design in the domain of tourist information support. Specifically, it proposes to construct a recommendation system as a composition of loosely coupled modules, implementing both personalized and non-personalized methods of recommendations and a coordination module responsible for adaptation of the whole system to the specific tourist and situation context. The paper also presents some results on practical evaluation of the proposed models and an integration of the developed recommendation system into a mobile tourist guide (TAIS).

The testing approach described here has grown out of migration projects aimed at converting procedural programs in COBOL or PL/1 to object-oriented Java code. The code conversion itself is now automated but not completely. The human reengineer still has to make some adjustments to the automatically generated code and that can lead to errors. These may also be subtle errors in the automated transformation. Therefore, converted code must be tested to prove that it is functionally equivalent to the original code. Up until now converted programs have been tested manually and their results compared, but that is a very labor intensive approach. Besides, it only shows which results differ and not where the code differs. It can be extremely difficult to trace differences in the results back to differences in the code. Such regression testing drives up the costs of migration, causing users to disregard this alternative. If they have to spend so much on testing a conversion they might as well redevelop the software. This paper describes how converted code can be validated at a much lower cost by symbolically executing it and comparting the execution paths. The theory behind this approach is that no matter how statements are statically reordered, dynamically they must still execute in the same sequence to produce the same result.

Recently an approach for information system design and delivery according to run-time context has been developed. It uses the concept of capability to express the organization's ability and capacity that enables it to achieve a business goal in a certain context, and hence is denoted Capability Driven Development (CDD). The concept of capability has also been used in other approaches because it facilitates business investment focus, it can be used as a baseline for business planning, and it directly leads to service specification and design. For example, several Enterprise Architecture frameworks have included capability as a key concept for analyzing organization's abilities to deliver desired functions. A notable contribution in this area is The NATO Architecture Framework (NAF), which aims at being a de facto standard for organizations operating in the areas of NATO. This paper analyses the possibilities of mapping the CDD concepts to NAF concepts that are relevant for capability design.

Users who request to access protected objects must obtain the authorization of access control systems. Among the elements of decision for such systems should be the risk of authorizing accesses under various assumptions, and one of the notions of risk is threat likelihood. Access control systems deals essentially with insider threats coming from people within the organization, such as employees, business associates or contractors, who could violate access control policies. We present in this paper a new approach for insider threat likelihood assessment for secrecy and integrity properties by considering reading and writing operations within the context of access control systems. Access operations, the trustworthiness of subjects, the sensitivity of objects, and the applied security countermeasures are all considered in the assessment of the likelihood of this category of insider threats. Both qualitative and quantitative assessments are provided. Hence our approach makes it possible to compare and calculate the likelihoods of these insider threats, leading to more flexible and more informed access control decisions in various situations.

The paper illustrates a system for the automatic classification of the sentiment orientation expressed into reviews written in Italian language. A proper stratification of linguistic resources is adopted in order to solve the lacking of an opinion lexicon specifically suited for the Italian language. Experiments show that the proposed system can be applied to a wide range of domains.

Advancements in low-cost and unobtrusive wearable computing devices have prompted employers to begin providing their employees with wearable technology as a part of corporate wellness programs. While the adoption of wearable health-tracking systems might improve employees' wellbeing, the introduction of such systems in organizational settings might also instigate certain tensions, in particular those between privacy and wellbeing, and work and private life. This study was based on an analysis of these tensions;following the design science research paradigm, design principles were derived to minimize such strain.

Big Data integration frameworks provide unified view of the data available from heterogeneous data sources. These data sources are continuously evolving, forcing systems that integrate them to adapt their global schema after each change. This gets more challenging when aiming to maintain the global schema always reflecting data sources content. To cope with such complexity, in this paper we describe evolution scenarios and manage modular ontology evolution within Big Data integration framework in an a priori way according to changes performed against the data sources.
